I'm not sure how the skillups work in this case, but even in the worst case scenario where it starts at 11% separate multiplier and 1% attack/HP you'll have a passable weapon you can replace a dagger with for no loss and just gradually skill it up for extra gains whenever you can.

That's not how you're supposed to use it. You want the total max counts to be higher than 10 so the calculator can list all combinations of 10-out-of-max weapons from highest to lowest expected damage. You can also add certain combinations to an enmity graph and view it later. Overall you should base your decision on combination of full HP damage, enmity curve and your max HP (large HP gains for small damage drop are generally preferrable).

Alright, I'm attempting to compile advice I've seen here for someone new starting out, let me know if this is right:
1. Go for a main (wind, fire, water, earth) element over light/dark UNLESS you get an amazing start in one of them (like, 2 core SSR units and the chance to start dash a limited?).
2. Wind is the easiest to get going and also strong in the end-game too.
3. Try to get an account with 2 SSRs in one element, and preferably a limited so you can start dash a different limited later.
4. Basically just reroll forever and at the end of legfest ask for advice on which account is the best.

You got that right. Just keep in mind you will eventually have to start playing every element, so you'll want to select an account that has both a good starting kit (not necessarily multiple SSRs in one element, a Grande setup also works when you have one attacker and two buffers in different elements) and things that will help you greatly in the future. You can get various standard characters with suprise tickets and one limited with Start Dash, but they're all timegated, so you can't just throw your money at the game for instant results. Ultimately the element you'll start with will depend on what the game decides to give you.
You want to make 10 different accounts, do free rolls with them, get enough crystals for an extra 10 roll on each and then post the results here so we can evaluate which one you should stick with.

The point is you same idiots act as if early dupes are impossible, that you always get an ssr each 10 roll if you save up 2 to 3 10 rolls every legfest, and that those ssr won't be dupes, especially if they're early. Not to mention wasting free non dupe SSRs "because you'll get trash you don't have anyway".
There is no reason to listen to anyone in this general about how "smart" it is to piss away crystals every memefest you get. And saving to spark is a slow ass process, but at least you get something you want for sure down the road.

Dark Claw build has around 6-7% power drop over Wind Bolt on a very quick calc that doesn't account for a lot of different sources of extra attack stats like summons, zenits, +s etc, and also with an artificial 80% elemental summon on Dark's side so we compare only the weapons themselves, so that difference will be likely less than 5% in practice. Base stats of weapons being some huge factor in actual firepower is just a dumb /gbfg/ meme. The only potentially broken part of Tiamat Bolts is the one it shares with Celes Claws and a ton of other weapons outside standard magna builds: Atk+Enmity skill, and without Zoi it's entirely up to RNG how well you can take advantage of it.
What I'm getting at is that it's Korwa and her ridiculously broken buffs that make Wind significantly stronger than the other mainwheel elements, with every other factor being a minor addition to the whole package.

Yes because limiteds make progress a hell of a lot easier, and more newer limiteds are far more useful for the weapons someone f2p or a casual dolphin would bother with in the first place(Orchid).
However you can progress fine with a team of even the worst SSRs depending on the content you wish to do. Or even many SRs. Only Rares may give some trouble, and if your grid progresses well enough it doesn't matter.

Get one good pool for your main element then start grinding pools for the rest - you'll start using them once you actually spark and get ~18 rolled SSRs + sparked limited. With only a starting reroll you have at best one element and usually not even that, it has to be supplemented with some SR(s). If you roll during legfes you should have two or three teams in a couple of months. Not esports tier but you will have some teams and will be able to actually do something. Especially in current rainbow meta. Having good teams in three different elements after half a year is much better than having half of a single esports team for 10 months after which you will finally have single esports team and two weak ones.
