That's for accuracy. Its damage falloff begins exactly where a medium laser's range ends. This is effectively equivalent in MWO. It cannot have the same range as an LPL because it clearly has the pinpoint damage advantage and weighs less.

330 meters before falloff is the absolute optimistic maximum in my predictions.

It specifically can't be added in because its LBX20 cannon is located in the right arm and uses the crit-splitting mechanic to fit the weapon there, placing one crit slot of the gun is in the torso. Unless PIG position changes on their crit system to allow for splitting it won't be possible to add this mech to the game. It has balance implications because it would allow all those big cannons to fit into torsos with XL or LFE engines which would throw the quirkbalance™ on its head.

No crit-split also means no HGR Fafnirs with LFE upgrades because those guns are too big even though its technically legal.

Can someone teach me how to play fast medium brawlers?
I picked up the X5 because i really like going fast and shoot SRMs into people but its really not working for me in solo drops.
Apart from the fact that im not used to have that little armor (my first mechs were 70+ tonners) I really struggle with positioning and decision making.
And the pugs I get dont really help the situation either.
Everyone hides, nobody pushes, assaults dont tank but they hide behind the entire team spamming LRMs and ERPPCs at max range and so on.
I understand that as a 40 ton skirmisher/brawler I need to wait for the confusion to start and someone else be focused so I can go in and unload SRMs and MLs without getting instagibbed.
The problem is, as I said, nobody creates a brawl or confusion for me to go in.
So I tried the flank manouver but that doesnt work either since when one of the enemy team turns around and calls me out everyone on the enemy team will know my position and will come to rape me, especially a pack of lights.

All that being said, does anyone have some solid advice for me?

Brawling implies you can actually take damage. What you're looking at is a skirmisher, something that moves fast on the enemy flank, unloads some shit in their direction and runs away before exploding from a small breeze.

These days mediums aren't very good at brawling because of how quickly things die, but some can still do it. Namely Griffins and Shadow Hawks if you know how to abuse torso twisting fundamentals to the maximum.
