From there Seltas works as a OK base set, but you'll chances are want to go Mantis if you've got a good charm to sneak in Artility. I don't think Brave needs Guard+2, just Guard Up so you can use the Reload guard point to block everything.

Sweet, caught a new thread. Couple questions about SwAxe's Tempest Axe HA:

1) What are the changes between tiers?
2) Are motion values affected at all?
3) Is axe mode finally usable, or is it still best to just go Sword-Only Striker?
4) Is it best used in Brave Style, or does another style benefit more?

I haven't been using axe mode since Tri, and I want to be excited for it.

Unless you're fighting something stationary, you're gonna be getting more out of Axe mode even in Striker due to Energy Charge's nerf making Demon Sword harder to keep up reliably on faster monsters. Brave is useful but it can work in Striker too, you can do the extra finisher. The normal roundhouse would still be blocked, but you'd have something to go to after hack n slashing.

Gen was never easy, hunts just lasted shorter thanks to arts and max dps.

Went back to 4U after 200 hours of Gen and a G rank frenzied zinogre couldn't even touch me, just SWaxe evasion hopping through every attack.

These G5 and Super Deviants are just Heaven-or-Hell Dante Must Die levels of ass. They're like Apex 140's except stronger and you don't bounce as much, and you can't use traps, which means they practically beg to be Hame'd cause if you're not sleeping and paralyzing then one accident sets you up for cart city.

i am not sure about the english patch. the supported patching methods are either ntr cfw or installing a patched .cia, both of which require arm9 access, which is out of reach for people on 11.3 who haven't already hacked their 3ds. HANS is an option for people who only have userland access but it is not supported by the translation team. patching games with HANS is a relatively messy process and i've never used it so i wouldn't know if it's possible for you to use it to patch mhxx

shot booster is not really a necessary skill, it's a convenience thing that can help you maintain damage in some situations

I would actually argue shot booster is better for online where the monster will be running away from you in some cases to fuck other people, whereas solo its coming for you 90% of the time

the usefulness of recoil down also depends on the bowgun and the shots you're using, so that may be an important factor

So I'm trying to learn HBG but I'm having difficulty when it comes to siege mode. There are times when I want to evade roll into siege mode but I end up facing the direction I roll into rather than where my camera is focused on. So if the enemy is in front of me the only thing I can do is evade roll closer to the monster or else I have to spend time turning the gun.

But then I noticed in this video that this isnt happening to this person, so I was wondering if it was something unique to brave mode or is there something in the options menu that can fix this (and if so could you tell me which ones). Any help from fellow gunners would be really appreciated

So I've finally caved in to my desires and decided to get a N3DS XL. I don't think it's getting any cheaper any time soon and 3 G titles plus easy homebrew should be enough to warrant the purchase, at least for me.

They keep a portion of the games actual content there too, how is the transmog any worse than that? Also the reality is that the vast majority of jap players transfer saves, so for many the end of the mantis boss is just the beginning of XX, many won't even make a single armor set before that point.

Cosmetic and utility rewards are often given later in games, because they are like a goal to work towards. Another reason might be that they open up later because collecting sets to make outfits is more content for late game people.

I would have liked to have it lower also, but it's not like it doesn't make sense or something. It's a first time thing for the series and I'm sure they are just trying this out.
