There's no real story behind it. I just figured black people have some kind of affinity for YGO because it's the only card game I've ever seen them play outside of a few black guys who play magic.

It's because when going up against rune you have no weak point. Sword dislikes wards and healing. Shadow dislikes banish. Dragons don't like getting smorc'd or khawy'd. Blood doesn't like getting bursted. Forest is a mixed bag because of how their builds vary, but they can be answered in various ways with some success.

These crafts have to answer to a weakness or counterplay that gets mileage against them. Rune's power comes from the hand. You can't counter a Daria that comes out cheap and outvalues you. You can't stop the sheer power a dshift gives, and you can't stop it from gathering power. Haven also got shit back in DE because of how you couldn't mess with amulets, so now it's back to being dumpster tier again.

Sort of, basically I wanted to take the basic Daria deck, completely remove the Daria engine itself, and replace it with more direct damage and guaranteed Levi-fetching with Gobu. It's not a tempo deck at all, more like burn/aggro, but it's doing surprisingly well for me in AA1.

Oh, you're talking about the anime.

There's actually some "lore" behind it, I say lore because the anime doesn't really give great explanations for the things happening in the show. In truth, all the last few episodes touch upon are the explanation for Yuya going berserk at certain points being the result of HITOTSU NI and everyone else just tried to convince that his spirit and other stupid bullshit created the magic that is Pendulum.

I stopped caring about the show after Synchro despite being caught up to the current episodes. I'm just waiting on Card Games on Hoverboards tbqh famalam

Thighsassin can be run instead of Urd if you feel like ya need the extra removal over Urd's Mordecloning potential, which might be needed depending on how the meta settles post-TotG, but for now I'm assuming it won't change so much that Urd will get pushed out. Even now it's a matter of preference though, so whichever one you choose you'll be fine.

As for the 3 Conversions, I've found it to work quite nicely, since it lets me pop Corpses consistently and gives me the draw I need to make sure I don't brick. It also helps a bit in getting shadows versus Haven, since they can't banish your Skullcradle/Dingdong/Unleasher if you kill it first. But again, maybe it'll be less necessary in the new meta, although with how many new toys Haven's getting I somehow doubt it.

While we're all posting decks/theorycrafting, thoughts on this? I feel like Goblin Princess will give the deck a lot more consistency than it had before if you don't draw Cerb, and Orthrus will make for a nice removal+face damage play for when you can't do the standard Reaper+whatever other 2pp follower play on turn 4.

Granted, my only real experience with this deck is going against it since I never managed to pull a single Shadow Reaper, hence why I'm asking here to make sure I'm not missing anything important about it

Why the fuck would anyone play her over Alucard? Health does not fucking matter on a 7 mana storm, you're not gonna fucking trade with it. The card is fucking bad, people need to get over that fact. For real though, the random damage is (usually) gonna kill something and the random attack is irrelevant since she'll always be giving it to something that's going face. Whether it goes to your Skull Beast or Goblin Mage is irrelevant when the 2 damage is going to their face no matter what.

I'm confident this deck would be tier 1 or high tier 2. It's a control sword with less brick since you don't run Baha/Odin, doesn't autolose to Dshift because you have insane pressure with overstatted storm followers and Roland cucking Flame Destroyer.

Yeah, Jeno is good but Amelia has better use in commander deck. She's 4/5 if Standard is played on curve, can be played along with White Paladin in T5 if you spellboost them with Gawain last turn. You also don't really need Jeno rush in this deck. Luminous Mage is basically a rush and Gawain is a rush at 6pp.

I mean with cage they only have 3 spots, but still 3 wards per turn out of one card is pretty nuts. Add in the fact they can drop shit like Fairy Beast too. Forest doesn't even need the ability to go face in the early/midgame since they have 20 damage combos out the ass.

Against Shadow you're basically going to have to have barrages or wait it out though, because of cards like Catacomb and Chimera that pack bodies behind bodies. It will probably play more midrange with removal for the big enemies so you don't have to waste all your skeletons trading up.
