This isn't true. Attackers hugely outclass defenders when penetrating. Almost every attacker unit has abilities that provide damage as well as higher dribble than defenders. The problem is that backlines are loaded with defensive buffs, which coupled with lowered return damage allows them to win damage trades and plow through to the front line.

In my opinion they should increase ace burst effect to 200% but nerf pen aces quite harshly, then add dual color ace burst that is 130%, then nerf rainbow aces a bit more, Duran ace should go down to 15%. Silla ace nerfed to 30%. Then I think it would be more balanced. All legend teams would actually struggle with ace burst teams thanks to the major ace power disparity. You just need to decide a hierarchy then adjust the numbers accordingly:
mono-burst > dual-burst = mono > tri-burst > rainbow = dual > tri

personally I do think we need tri-aces and dual ace burst modes and I'd just make it so a team running a tri ace is invalid if it uses the other two elements if the coding can handle that.

Then you tweak the numbers a little and buff some of the unused units in both chain synergies and abilities so that they fit dual/tri setups well and see what happens.

i.e. let's take Tyler:
-give him tri-ace instead of mono effecting Ardor, Light and Thunder.
-change Reverse to have some kind of totem effect for those elements.
-add a couple more 5-6* units to his chains from those elements

I finally dropped FEH completely.

There's nothing to do but summon units and level them up. There aren't really any goals to work towards.

I guess if you think about it, Soccer Spirits is about collecting and developing units too, but it still feels more worthwhile to me. You have to think more about picking the right units for team synergy, which skills you should level up first, what stones to pick. And after playing for a while, I'm slowly able to get further and further in CoT and Galaxy League, so I feel the progress. As funny as it may sound, Soccer Spirits has more depth to the game.

In FEH, you just need a couple weeks, if even that, and you can beat anything in the game. So the only thing to do is collect stuff and grind the same old training tower maps again and again.

Maybe it just needs more time to add stuff though.
