Loot council works great for long established guilds of faggots who have been playing together for quite awhile. It's one of those things where on paper it sounds great but in practice - especially with FAGGOTS, it's going to end up shitty.
I can't think of any good reason why a /vg/ guild would use loot council right off the bat. If this was a guild that was three years old and everyone knew each other, that would be different - and also wouldn't really be a /vg/ guild.
Is there even a good reason or did the animeposters literally just google "best loot system 1.12" and decided since they were pros, that was what pros did?

Genuinely curious. Just from my own experience in years of guilds, loot council is bad news 99.9% of the time.
DKP isn't perfect at all but leaves no questions or riddles as to who gets what, as even the perception of a "clique council" is bad, even if intentions are good.

It's not that bad. Once you hit 40 and get plate you can start some aoe grinding. And there's no better feeling than getting a new blue 2h from a dungeon. That's the kind of thing caster don't get to experience. For a caster, new gear while leveling only means more manageable. For melee it means more damage so it's a lot more satisfying.

Vendor your skins until you get atleast 40, but sell your herbs/ore/stones on the AH.

When you get to level 60, ditch skinning and pick up Alchemy, get the Arcanite Bar transmute and transmute each and every (second) day you can. It's a free 10g every 2 days.

And since you're not a warrior/rogue, you don't need to pick up cooking/first aid! GRATZ.

The drop tables are seriously fucked up in DM. I have seen two compendiums drop so far.

What does "pet normalization" mean? Forums give no direct answer. Does it simply mean pets have the same LISTED dps (not real dps)? Does it mean every pet has a 2.0 atk speed? Does it mean pets no longer have unique abilities?

Pets are not normalized, currently, right? Lupos deals shadow dmg, there are caster pets, pets don't have 2.0 atk speed, etc.

Grenades are useful no matter what level you are, and if you're a hunter it's a good way to keep your weapon upgraded before all the good bows start being available.

Dude a lot of classes can be unfun to level in vanilla. Warrior is a lot better if you have a main to supply it with good gear though. The only classes that I ever really have fun leveling is hunter and warlock. Everything else is just boring or a pain. But a lot of the classes that are a pain/boring become really nice at 60.
