IIRC, that's not exactly what they said. My recollection is that it was a little more nuanced and open-ended than that.

Normally, Sony plans to support their systems in some fashion for ten years minimum, and it's ended up being more than that in every case to date. Even with Vita being a "failure," I doubt they'll completely cut it off that soon, though they may cease hardware production before the ten years are up. I don't see them cutting it off from PSN or anything in a couple more years.

I got pretty frustrated with one of the bosses in htoL#NiQ not long ago, because I thought it was kind of bullshit how little margin of error they gave the player, how few cues they gave you, and the random elements thrown on top of it all. There is no training and the death animations aren't gory. The problem is a big part of the game play involves you going around searching for coins. All you do is move around, press a button to search, then repeat. It doesn't feel meaningful as a game. The actual battles are a handful of pretty simple minigames.
