Hello bnsg.

Tell me, is there someone or something you miss? There is for me. I joined this community almost a year ago, and I remember how much I used to enjoy reading through the thread, and making lobbies for newer and older players alike. There was some hostility but nothing too excessive or offensive.

I am not sure of when it was that it happened, but people started turning outright hostile, and so, others stopped posting, and the lobbies became less frequent and took longer to fill. I suppose I might've contributed to this. As I started posting less often, until I simply stopped altogether.

Nowadays, only the most thick-skinned of people post and the sensitive ones either keep to themselves, stick to their own clique or quit. As annoying as it might be to have to treat someone like they're a glass sculpture, I believe these people were a valuable part of this general. In the end, an MMO grows to the point where there's nothing else to discuss about it, and so, the only thing left to do is grind endlessly. Sometimes it's the people you play with that can make a game feel great, rather than the game itself.

Anyway, just wanted to let that out while I still felt it, before I stop caring again.

Of course I miss alot of people and things we used to do and have fun together, but a lot of people refuse to stop being hostile towards each other and it seems like it will never end sadly. It makes me sad that what he had will never come back to the glory of what it used to be. I will be honest and say /bnsg/ is the only reason I've stand to play bns this long because of the good people I've meet here, I enjoy playing with people here, but seeing them fight makes me sad aswell. Good evening, /bnsg/! I've been spending the last few days investigating what causes characters to become permanently invisible in lobbies, and I've reached some interesting conclusions!

Some people have said that getting an appearance change fixes this bug. While technically correct, I've come to the conclusion that it's not random, but instead, specific appearance settings are triggering the bug. So unless those are altered, no amount of appearance changes will fix it.

Through the (very slow) process of elimination, I've discovered that the issue is related to the facial features tab. This is where I need your help. There are simply too many possibilities for me to test on my own. If you would be so kind as to provide me your facial sliders, your race, and whether or not your character is visible in lobbies, I can gather the data required to isolate the possible culprit(s). Hostility is what caused the huge gap in posting now. As I've said before, people trying to chase out who they considered to be trouble makers chased out everyone else instead. The ones who will always be first to leave will be the most innocent in fear of causing something else next. You will always lose the innocents first and that is what kills the threads. When the kind and the helpful and the encouraging and welcoming leave. Then all thats left is the fighting.

The clique thing has to end. Even though the servers have merged, it still feels like there are a few groups to painfully obviously keep to themselves. That's not helping. You won't make more friends that way, no ones going to come up to you and try to get to know you when you hide out or only stick to one person. That's what makes you invisible, you don't seem approachable.

Back about a year ago we had meetups and main hangout spots. Meetups arent needed anymore, but hangout areas would help.
The game will grow dull and everyone would quit if it was just solo playing so remember that to a certain extent you really do need each other. So dont be dicks for no reason

I have also been rather curious about what makes certain characters invisible in lobbies, while others are not. I actually came to the opposite conclusion: I think it involves body sliders, not facial features.

I race changed from Lyn to Yun, and my Yun was invisible. I later drastically changed her body sliders, while hardly touching the facial features tab and she became visible thereafter. Particularly, build size and height, but I was sure to tweak every body slider just to be sure.

I have also been asked before to work on someone's preset, but only altering the face. This person was invisible in lobbies before I edited their preset. I made many alterations to the face and face shape, there hope was that they would then become visible in lobbies. I never changed anything with their body sliders, and they were still invisible.

Another example is a few anons here who have done palette swaps, keeping body sliders identical but only touching up the face slightly amongst these appearances. Both their original preset and slightly altered preset are invisible.

What brings you to the conclusion that it's the facial features tab only?

Well, I do know that you love your faction shaneningans, but because of legendary accessories and pets, people barely take any damage anymore.

SSP here in our group (you're still in group 3, jiwan, right?) is really dead in the pvp sense. Even in the pve sense, people barely do their dailies there anymore, they only farm captains.
The only Crimsons you find there, are the 1 or 2 mercanaries that are paid to kill the drills in a channel, so you blue can force a defense boss spawn.

I didnt make the point about people isolating themselves in an attempt to start any fights. That's not what we need right now or ever

What we need is for the bickering to stop and for people to stop feeling whatever they're feeling that's making them avoid most of bnsg. It look terrible when you don't interact with anyone until its time for raid no matter what server you're from. There are Mushin player and there are Jiwan players who do this. Both need to stop. You're hurting both yourselves and the community in the long run.

You don't have to be in the same guild or originally from the same sever or anything like that. Just drop your walls and get to know each other. It'll open way more opportunities for everyone this way, especially with 6man hard modes coming. Think ahead. Sadly I don't think it's possible to really change anything here. It's going down the path every mmog goes. A lot of it has to do with just human nature where if you take a group of people they eventually form circles inside that group. People will get left out and become the weakling no one wants around.
