Well, Sans isn't as easily-killed, but I'm willing to bet that this is only because Papyrus is just that good-hearted and unwilling to take a life. If he wanted someone well and truly dead, Papyrus could probably get the job done better than his lazy-bones brother could.
And really, if we're using "less likely to die" as a metric, then there's quite a few characters who surpass Sans in that respect (e.g. Alphys, the shopkeepers, everyone who was smart enough to get the hell out of Dodge during a Genocide run).

It should have ended around the middle, when Sans cornered them in the village. Probably not the same resolution, but that was significant enough that it could have ended there.
What makes it especially annoying is that it was set up as a continued Chara redemption, but even though they do regret they shit they pulled, by the end they've been so extremely mentally, physically and and emotionally abusive to Frisk, that I lost all sense of sympathy.

It's a shame, because I was on board with it at the start. Setting up Sans as a definitive antagonist, Papyrus being useful, Asriel having issues but also contributing heavily, a plot that honestly reminded me of 80s-90s more dramatic child adventure flicks, there was a lot going for it!

Monsters can have time travel dejavu from the smallest amount of interaction. Now reinforce that one hundred fold because said time traveler is actively fucking with your life. If that dejavu starts layering it becomes like a fragmented memory. That's why Sans was able to keep track of how many times you die to a small extent. It's not that he remembers everything, it's that he can kind of recall telling you how many times you've died the last time he fought.

He clearly has knowledge that resets occur, but it's highly suspect that he retains any memory beyond a twinge of 'hey, this happened again'.
Both in Geno and in Neutral routes, he bases his assumptions on Frisk's expression. Others may file it as deja vu, but since Sans probably knows this is a phenomenon that can occur, he can be reasonably sure it's because of that.
And honestly, people are kinda stupid for taking the 'he remembers everything' route, because the alternative of knowing resets can happen, but never knowing how much, how many times, for what reason got reset, would be so much more terrifying than clearly knowing everything.

I think knowing bits and pieces of prior resets is far more terrifying than knowing nothing. It's only an existential crisis if there are no memories. But if memories can be recalled or recorded, particularly the bad ones, then the looming threat is personally felt.

Yeah, I do agree you can do a lot with that. Personally, I'd think that not knowing anything would make it scary, because if you start really looking at people and memorizing their faces etc, then anything out of the ordinary would have you shitting your pants immediately.
Like even Frisk, if they just suddenly looked sad in, say, Snowdin, but with no explanation or reason, that'd be a massive red flag, and yet he still wouldn't be able to just ask them, because it might just restart everything once more.
But to be fair, both are decent ideas, it's really a matter of execution how they might end up.

While the Machine itself is non-functional, it may provide shielding against resets allowing objects contained within to essentially travel back in time.

MG1 is very simple and probably not even worth playing, just look up the plot to absorb what little lore it has.
MGS1 was basically made to be enjoyed as a standalone game. It was the first in the franchise to be properly localized instead of having a totally different version being made for the west, after all. Highly recommended.

Basically consumed the latter half of a D&D game I ran for /tg/. It wasn't an utter rip of the story or anything but a few character archtypes and locations (True Lab was almost shamelessly copied in its entirety) were written in to the already existing plot. It generally got positive feedback from the players, even the ones who immediately recognized what was what

In general terms, Flowey is Asriel with compassion, love and soul removed, plus a side order of crippling trauma. There doesn't seem to be any Chara in him, or at least the game never alludes to it at all. Whatever is left of Chara is in Frisk.
