Hey, any way for me to be able to spawn items in AA 2.1? I can't seem to get debug mode working(if there even is one)

And no, before you ask, I'm not planning on fucking cheating. It's for research purposes. I'm trying to make small tweaks to the guns .ltx files to really understand how the mechanics work and what exactly makes them tick.

So far I've been able to get the sig p220 to fire 9x18 as a test to see if ammo affects the visual recoil(the sig has an assload of recoil. I love it), but it didn't and I haven't been able to touch the recoil animation itself.

In SOC you can only repair armor if you get four of any of the +30 artifacts and jump into the anomaly they negate. Other than that, no.

If you have ZRP, you can enable the repeair mod (Captain Ivantsov at the Bar and Screw at Army Wharehouses are the only two mecanics, so you won't have access to neither until after Agroprom).

Alkiroth's CoM Overhaul
(for CoM + STCoM + OA)

Version 2.0 released!

The Loot 2.0 module was honestly a huge pain in the ass to make as I could easily rape the game's balance if I wasn't careful. In the end I think I did a decent job, though I expect you guys to be the judges of that.

A tweak compilation I've been working on to enhance the CoM experience without ruining the existing balance, or so I've tried.
Not for everyone as it makes the game easier (less full of bullshit in my opinion).

If you are already using STCoM + OA you can try the mod without any worries whatsoever, and if you find it doesn't suit your tastes you can remove it without compromising your saves.
However, if you're using Axebeard's Tweaks or any other mod that messes with the same files then you'll have to either merge them, install only those that do not conflict or just ignore this mod altogether.

Since your future plans imply you have at least a decent grasp of the quest system coding, have you thought about unfucking the janky as fuck drx shit in CoM?

Off the top of my head, the drx "questline" quests fuck up your dialogue options with the quest giver while they're active (you can't ask for normal dynamic jobs if you're in the middle of a quest task), and of course its missing the job cancellation function that was added an eternity ago.

I'll take a look at his code and see what I can come up with, but in the meantime I got my hands full with my established plans. To be honest though, this should be something that the CoM team (or guy?) should be fixing instead.

I'm also taking my sweet time with the faction patches because, though I'm confident I can throw some quests here and there to solve the problem, I thought a much better way to go about it would be to implement something akin to the system for delivering PDA's.

Most mods don't mess with bumpmaps too much.

Even Photorealisitc Zone Creatures has only a handful of custom made bumpmaps applied to many NPC meshes.

Only a handful really match the visuals.


I've been trying for a year now to make at least vanillaish bumpmaps for each unique vanilla npc, but I've hit a wall on all of the Monolith and Freedom models beacause of stupid cammo patterns.

Get rid of doctorx questlines. It's pretty shit due to not being able to know what you're accepting before you accept it and you can't cancel a task.
I've heard smurths dynamic hud can cause your game to crash randomly and my crashes stopped when I uninstalled it.

AO has a lot of different ammos, ak's and is pretty lethal for you and npc's. I like it.

OWR is vanilla weapons only and does it's damage through bullets. There is a tweak you can download to fix some things like shotguns sucking. It's lt's owr tweaks or something like that. 2.1 is the newest one.

STCOP has lots on weapons like AO, looks better, imo, then AO but has terrible enemy accuracy. You can walk back and forth in front of an enemy and not get hit. I never realized this until I tried AO and got obliterated multiple times just by bandits at the car park in cordon. From the hill that over looks that camp.

Hope this helps. Also, crc is in game chat and is a nice change from the usual pda entries, cause ya know, it's real people instead. Just make sure to look under the option button when you start it up. You can change your name, faction and other shit.

I'm back from playing Sigerous Mod for CoP. Holy shit is it frustrating. The story revamp I was promised is nothing but a neverending fetch quest from point A to point B.
And the worst part is there are no other points. You literally spend at least first 2-4 hours of the game circling your initial spawn point at Kordon and a single village in the Swamps. The map additions either make no sense or are glitchy as all hell, the absolut elack of sidequests is an icing on a piece of shit of a cake taht is this mod

Holy shit I'm so mad I spend so much time trying to find anything good about this mod...

Anyway, what I'm looking for is a mod that revamps or vastly extends the plot with quests and preferably new locations and additions. Any reccomendations?

The only thing it really lacks is a proper story mode, but there's a story mode option that makes you go to various places around the zone to familiar locations from mostly SoC's storyline without any fluff text

you don't need shock protection unless you're playing a mod with electro chimeras or something because the only way you'll get shocked is by walking into an electro anomaly which are all real fucking visible and real fucking noisy AND can be defused with a thrown bolt.
Thermal protection is IMO the most important upgrade in vanilla CoP for several reasons: thermal artifacts are so situational they are next to useless in that game (although IIRC thermal artifact have useful secondary effects in CoC now), there are several anomalies with thermal AoE damage and there is no drug that counters thermal effects like antidotes counters chemical or radioprotectant does with radiation.
Radiation protection on the exo is low but there are tons of ways to get rid of it/protect yourself from it
Weight reduction is mandatory because it frees up a lot more space for loot for no drawback and sprint takes advantage of that reduced mass when you're running empty (stamina lasts far more)
Exo already has enough armor and the other upgrade is just flat out better

I think they fit fine, there was care taken in applying fitting models and there's never been a time I thought any of the new models didn't look like they belonged to the faction member who was using it. The artstyle of the models fit rather well as well too

Yeah, it is nice. Although I doubt it's possible, what I would love to see is a system that randomly generates a stalker's model from available pieces and variations so that no two stalkers ever really alike, as it should be considering the nature of the equipment in the zone
For example, differenty variety of gas masks, respirators, goggles, different MOLLE configurations, pouches, gloves, holsters, boots, etc

I've tried AO3, STCOP, and OWR3, and all of them seem to just improve the gun models themselves, but don't alter any gun behavior so it just feels like I'm playing vanilla stalker.

I loved the realistic damaging guns from Autumn Aurora in SoC and AO3 in CoP, is there any mod to do that in CoC? I don't want Misery.

they stay cool enough. in my experience the plastic hinges and etc. that they tend to have start falling apart before they'd die from heat. i got an asus g60jx in 2010 and it lasted me a good 5 years of heavy use before i switched to a desktop. the newer ones should be much more power efficient and run a lot cooler as well judging by the latest desktop cards

To the anon who taught me how to turn mechanics into traders: you are awesome.
I just tried it with the bar mechanic and it worked flawlessly, didn't even require a new game.
As a bonus, I made it so that you can also trade certain "technological items" that have some salvage value (e.g. broken flashlights, dead batteries). All with Sidorovich-tier discounts of course.
Thanks a lot man, wouldn't have messed with this in the first place if it weren't for you, and I believe it will be a great addition to CoM.

Afaik, 4A Games is making one last Metro game for the moment because they're burnt out on post-apoc stuff from ~18 years of working on STALKER/Metro and want to create a sci-fi game afterwards. It's meant to be more open/less linear than the two previous games, apparently more in the vein of the stalker add-on for Last Light.

ARKTIKA. 1, may or may not be that sci-fi game since that seems to still hold a vague Post-apoc theme to it or it's a different concept than what they want to that they came up with for the purpose of creating that game.

I have no way of actually knowing but I would assume that ARKTIKA. 1 is being made by the Kiev team as a side project while the main studio in Malta is continuing work on the new Metro game.

Zoom factor.

The lower the number, the more zoom you have when you look down the scope (or ironsights).

My recommendation is to take a variable zoom line from one of the snipers that have them and add them onto every single one.

For dedicated snipers, I usually set my zoom factor to 4 or 5, plus have variable zoom. You should also take the sight picture from a sniper rifle you really like and add them onto other rifles along with the variable zoom.

Just be sure not to upgrade any semi auto sniper to have the variable scope upgrade (which will cut the zoom down significantly due to itsredundancy and 6X cap). I would avoid the nightvision/thermal scope due to it possibly bugging out and making your zoom far worse. Be sure the sights match up to your bullet drop and velocity as well.

I'm not home right now, and hope someone posts a better worded instruction, if not a pic to show you.

But if that doesn't happen, I'll make a collage to help you (and/or many others if you figure it out quickly) so everyone can fuck around with their rifles and make them better all around in almost any way just by changing some values.

I decided to work on a drag an drop database version of Argus' Photorealistic Zone.

I've made some slight touchups to some texture colors and realigned some bumpmaps to their respective textures.

Will have to re-save some bumpmaps, as they are missing mipmaps.

Doing custom thm files for all affected textures to set their bumpmaps and detail textures.

This will allow me to get rid of the textures.ltx file, which can be a source of conflict with other mods.

The prototype weights around 450mb, it shouldn't go over 500mb.

It will take a while, as I have to find/edit appropriate thms and go over all the folders and the textures.ltx not to miss any texture.

If I can work on this consistently in the next few days, I presume I could finish by next week.

Sometimes I get it first try.
It's all about the angle. Higher chance of success if you line up the back two bandits so you can quickly headshot them in rapid succession and then nail the third immediately after.
