So from the item descriptions it sounds like there will be a rematch with the Dragonslayer Armor in the DLC, I don't know if it'll be a bossfight with a title+healthbar at the bottom or whether it'll just be like an enemy similar to what they did with Bloodstarved Beast in Bloodborne's DLC.

So the new weapons have fancy new weapon skills and all, sure.

But the movesets are all generic, right? iirc the Demon's Souls engine that DaS1 and DaS3 use had movesets as hardcoded bundles, not as separate moddable moves like DaS2 did (which is why DaS2 had a lot of weapons with "borrowed" moves swapped around)

This isn't a "muh das2 is better than das3" post, just musing on how the new weapons in TRC are probably going to be less exciting than people think.

What are the stats on the new dagger?

Bleed doesn't deserve the nerf. The notched whip has 30 buildup while the spotted has 36 poison buildup. Thats pretty biased considering bleed buildup reduces quicker than poison. And let me guess, carthus rouge is nerfed while poison resin is still the same? Also, the new infusion system this patch was halfassed and makes no sense at all. Now we have to wait until the next patch for uninfusable weapons to be on par. The whole problem seems to be fromsoft buffing things while nerfing the others. It results in overkill. Carthus curved sword has had an AR nerf and now a steep speed nerf, and its bleed buildup is also poor. This whole patch just created a new meta while people think they're making creative/varied builds while in reality they're just the katana running attack spammers. The rest of the fixes are topnotch though. From just needs to know when to stop nerfing things.

Why the fuck does Steam shit on me everytime I'm trying to download something ? I can download anywhere else just fine at 15-16mb/s. Naotoshi Zin was very directly involved with the development of DS2. I think Tanimura gets credit for shit that Naotoshi Zin cooked up and also because Shibuya got taken off the project. Almost every bleed weapon went down to 30 at base. They reduced their luck scaling, too, so most of my luck build's weapons dropped from 41 to 33.

Rouge was nerfed from adding 35 buildup to adding 20, meaning now instead of having ~75 buildup on a buffed bleed weapon with a luck build, I now have 53.

The base buildup of the bleed infusion was buffed, so for example the bandit's knife now ends up at 70 buildup, but this comes at the cost of more than half your AR vs uninfused so it's completely fucked. Less bleed than old rouge and at the cost of all your damage.

Ringed City is a not Londor, it's a totally new place with new lore.

Greatlance is slightly faster and has HA. It's still not very good but it's probably at least usable now. It still has the same weaknesses of being painfully easy to roll behind and having no options against that, but the pokes are fast enough to punish things now.

Balance patch through things out of whack. There will be a new meta, but it'as too early to tell exactly what. Curved GS are as fast as greatswords now and the exile ends up with as much AR as yhorm's on a strength build.

Dragon's soul makes a dark katana with Vergil's attacks as a WA, and a spell that's an MLGS version of soul; greatsword

Gael's soul makes a full-auto crossbow and a variant of the exile GS with crazy artorias shit for the WA
