Enough damage to kill npc's while questing I can understand and always will, but in dungeons and raids? Never.

Tanks mainly draw in aggro, at reduced damage than typical DPS, and to compensate for that, they require immense defensive capability, but would do much lower damage during questing than the average DPS, and each fight lasts usually longer.

And DPS, obviously gnaw at the enemy's health and that's it.

I absolutely don't see any harm in tanks doing extra damage along with regular DPS, maybe not as much as dps, but even a small damage boost is never a bad thing, tanks draw aggro because DPS can't take the beating.

Closed beta was meant to be playtests. And basically nothing people reported got in any way redesigned or even looked at.
See StM shadow priests, see Affliction artifact with traits that literally do nothing due to mechanic changes, see memevival hunters.
I gave them pages upon pages of SP and Warlock feedback, worked together with other priests on numerical analysis of why StM will become a problem with enough haste.
Then the open beta happened and literally hundreds of people voiced the exact same concerns. And Blizzard didn't give a fuck, it went live the way it was. Then suddenly StM became a problem when it turned out that it can already snowball out of proportion in fucking EN.
