Is this a sequence break or intentional cheese for speedrunners? Using Dashmaster to circumvent getting acid resist for the geo item under the bridge Greenpath was comparatively minor compared to a health upgrade/early boss fight and access to the upper portion of Crystal Peak.

No, buzzsaws. Also, to get into the Hive you need to take the tram from the Ancient Basin to Kingdom's Edge and break a wall above a pit of spikes with 2 bees infront of it. You'll want to get in there before you do the White Palace, because there's a super useful charm in there that'll help you.

Can officially confirm neither Crystal Peak nor Watcher's Spire require double jump to get anything.

All 4 double jump spots in Crystal Peak and one at the entrance to the Watcher's Spire can be cheesed either with a destructible or with an enemy (admittedly the one at the peak of Crystal Peak is a bitch and a half if you fuck up cause it doesn't respawn unless you walk all the way back to the bench).

The Pale King is the Wyrm. Hunter's journal doesn't call the Hollow Knight the king, it's just bad wording. The queen is the White Lady, Herrah was the queen of Deepnest, which wasn't a part of the kingdom of Hallownest. I think Hornet was just trying to test your strength. If you weren't strong enough to contain or destroy the infection, then breaking the seals would only make everything worse.

Eh, I don't get people hating on him. You can use debris as projectiles against him and his attacks seem not much more rng than most. Could be that by the time I fought him I had pure nail, but maybe I just got lucky to deal with him quickly.

For me the hardest battle was Arena 3, the fucking floor is lava part is way way too long for comfort in my opinion.

Lost Kin, thought, is by far the hardest boss and the most satisfying one in the game since you only need skill to defeat him. It's actually the only boss who's challenging if you're not fighting him with one of his counter charms or after you get your overpowered nail.

You can get in via the resting grounds which unlocks an elevator into that side of the city (which in turn lets you open the doors) but you need the down smash ability.

FYI, since you seem impatient you can get into the upper portion Watcher's Spire where the dreamer is without double jump by abusing the destructible environment to the left of the glass ceiling you can shatter for no god damn reason. I recommend the quick heal charm for the boss fight at the top.

This charm would need a damage boost to be top-tier but it's so hilarious I take it for a lot of miniboss fights anyway, and passive damage is surprisingly useful. Frees up brainpower to dodge.

Ehhh, after hornet the game becomes extrimely non-linear. In the steel soul run I just lost I had charge before beating mantis because I was dodging bosses. Even if I wasn't it's perfectly concieveble to turn right at the city gate and don't look back. It's not like they block progress- there is another entrance to deep nest after all, and in my first game if fell into it before fighting mantis. Don't follow my example tho, deep nest + blunt nail = death of joy.

I had trouble on the second one because I stubbornly refused to wait for 3rd nai and went in with second one. The third challenge really drove me nuts tho, floor is lava for 6 waves is not fun, not at all. I aslmost dropped the game after finishing arena

I dunno, with quickslash and abyss magic they felt like a non factor - boss simply dies before he has much of a chance to do anything.
Kinda like when you are dying on Radiance, the prep fight turns into an attack spam fest long before you defeat the bastard.

Presumably, being the bubbly friendly sort, he made Oro promise to join him.

What happened next probably went like this:

This sequence of events accounts for Mato and Oro speaking of something owed by the latter, and also explains why Oro is training in the middle of nowhere at the far end of Hallownest. Mato, in contrast, is based on the Howling Cliffs, which is the main pathway by which dudes enter Hallownest. Sheo paints in the middle of thorns and Durandoos because he's just that badass.

Let me get this straight:
The dream nail power invokes the light of the radiance, to temporarily bind your mind to others so you can read their 'thoughts'? But they aren't active thoughts, they're in some higher plane bullshit, which is why you can read dead bugs.
Player Bug doesn't spill out any secrets when doing this because either
1. You're a Samus-style mute, on all planes of existence.
2. You're an empty vessel, even inside your head
But even then, characters like the Seer can "feel" you link together.
When dream nailing, you enter the higher plane of the radiance with them, but as a narrative shortcut, this only actually loads a different area for very significant characters, fights, etc. It's not that some random dead bug doesn't have that same "zone" inside them, but we just skip that for bugs that only think things like "...Scared..."

40 hours for all endings isn't that bad, I'm currently at 35ish hours for 98% and first ending cleared. If you rush Failed Knight, Hornet, Mantis Claws/Soul Master/Mantis Lords you should be able to progress reasonably quickly, especially since you're just going for time.

All you have to do is kill the three Dreamers, upgrade your Nail and kill the Hollow Knight, yeah?

If you're going for a 100% speedrun though, then I gotta ask what's the last bit that kept you for 20 hours?

I kinda expected the final bosses to be harder from what I read here before. For the Hollow Knight I just tanked all his hits and DPS raced him. The Radiance was just knowing the right moments to shadow dash, the only problem I had with her was those homing sun orbs.
