Granted i'm only lvl74 but i can't avoid getting oneshot when he starts spamming the dark bullets, not even the pod bullet barrier can do a thing because it doesn't last for long enough for the projectiles to be gone even when fully charged. I mean, technically Caim does want to kill the empire but we as the player are controlling him. Taro has said something about killing generally being the main objective in video games. Angelus could've been talking to us, the players, when she says things about needless bloodshed and is killing really necessary. The players could also be the Watchers since we're literally playing verses when we're playing Drakengard so essentially, we're, as Manah put it, "singing".

So I've asked this a few times now and never gotten an answer, but I've finished Automata through ending E, and I'm trying to go back through chapter select to pick up my missed side quests, and I'm just not seeing any markers for them on the map. Does anyone know why? I never finished Speed Star (that shit is annoying) and that is the only quest with a marker. I've loaded multiple chapters. Anyone else have this problem? Or is it that some of the side quests just aren't marked at all?

In video games, writing must often bend to different development builds.
It's extremely common for the script to change in order to accomodate major changes to how the game is structured in terms of locations, interactions, what characters are on the scene etc.
Writing for video games is a nightmare, and goes trough many revisions as development moves fowards.
Taro manages to be mostly coherent because he has a reputation and a strong influence on the team as the "plot guy" but even he can't control every iteration of every single scene and how it's gonna look in the finished product.

Humans went extinct about 900 years after the fact. There was a short time in which some humans (a few hundred thousand to a few million) were able to return to their bodies upon Nier's sacrifice. There was a couple thousand years not marked right that could have been the time when the gestalt and replicant project ended during the third ending of Nier, because WCS vanished allowing some humans to return and live somewhat, then around 2000 or so odd years later aliens invaded about 100 years after that android war so there was a good 800-900 years that supposedly humans went extinct after that. That's a long fucking time to get an android project up and running as keepers of the last human genetic data like a seed bank.

By going back to the central city hub he should spawn somewhere else.
Also keep in mind he spawns sporadically in the earliest chapters, and then much more often in the later ones.

Nier 1 was more genuine and visceral.
Automata was more artificial (intentionally) and everything felt more detached, additionally since Nier popped our cherry already it doesn't leave as strong of an impact (basically only on those that played Nier: A as their first).

That being said it's a fantastic sequel.
You should NOT take how this sequel turned out for granted.
It coudl've been fucked up in a million different ways, especially in this modern market, it's a small miracle it turned out as good as it did.

Basically gives you a huge damage boost the whole fight.

I'm just happy to see a NieR sequel, double for it not being fucked up and really hits hard on the original for the fans of it without taking away from it being it's own chapter of the series. Even better it's like a dream match up in terms of game and studio development a NieR sequel done by Platinum.
