It's not once you're set up, but I was hoping they'd have them for cheap at launch. I tried getting a couple friends into ME3's multi last year and while I told them character packs would be more valuable early on than weapons, 100k is pretty brutal for gold matches. Unless I carried them, it was way out of reach when they were one of the things that would help the most early on.

It missed the bus, plain and simple. Exploration heavy, open world RPGs were all the rage 5 years ago. Ever since Witcher3 i was getting sick to fucking death of exploration focused sandbox games in general. But, unlike Bioware, CDP actually managed to fill their huge world with shit that was worth exploring instead of exploration for the sake of it. Everything was tied in with a story, dialogue choices that would affect the outcome of the quest or at least had unique(!!!!) items for you to find in addition to all the chests filled with random loot and crafting materials. You couldn't play the game for 20 minutes without talking to someone or seeing a dialogue/cut scene that asked you for your view on the situation at hand. That is what makes a great RPG, it gives you the feeling, even if it's just an illusion, that your choices made a difference every single step of the way.

Bioware is chasing trends and not even any good at it.

The reason EA growth is manufactured is because it's entirely due to acquisitions. It's not like they're a good game developer and had to double the size of their team to make more quality games.

Also when non gaming companies acquire someone they usually adopt their products and maintain production. EA has dozens of IP's that will never be touched again.

But were crucial to world building and reminding you that Geralt is a glorified dog catcher. What kinda soured the game for me is the part that you never have to follow Geralts job to afford food, shelter and gear maintenance. You only need to kill a couple bandits, collect their shit and sell it for much more money than any monster contract could earn you. But i think that's part of it being a video game and the devs didn't want to bog you down with too much realism.
