I dunno if setting health to 40 is the right thing to do, though. It gives cards like Reno even more value, while making heals to your hero's face weaker in general. It may be the best simplest fix, but there are other avenues. Maybe you can't hit face until turn 3 or 4. Maybe the first few face hits have to get rid of a new kind of armor that loses 1 point per hit no matter the damage.l. The problem is the early game snowball, so that's what should be targeted.

actually finja is really garbage in a dedicated murloc deck. he's only good in the finja/2x bluegill/2x warleader package. this is because other murlocs have battlecries that you want to activate and usually have shit stats. meanwhile warleader/bluegill have immediate effects on the board.

he's also bad in curator decks since you want finja to be pulling the murlocs out of your deck, not curator.

every color had a card like that, they were called pacts and all cost 0 mana.

blue - pact of negation, counter a spell, pay 5 next turn or lose
black - slaughter pact, destroy nonblack creature, pay 3 next turn or lose
green - summoners pact, search for any green card and put it in your hhand, pay 4 next turn or lose
white - intervention pact, stop a damage source and heal for that much, pay 3 or lose
red - titan pact, get a 4/4, pay 5 next turn or lose

black was played regularly, green was a meme combo deck card to tutor up stuff but almost never played and blue is played in platinum angel decks (Platinum Angel is a creature hat says "You cannot lose the game" on it so you would do the 0 mana counterspell and not pay the cost, this is only in modern)

Because like every other team in Blizzard, Team 5 has such insanely inflated egos that if you play the game your way, you're playing it wrong. You NEED to play the game their way.
They did it with WoW, they did it with Diablo, they did it with Starcraft, they are doing it with Overwatch, they are doing it with Hearthstone, they will do it with every other future game they make. They would have done it with Warcraft 3 if they could update the game regularly like with their modern games.

Blizzard developer are the most egoistic and condescending developer in the industry. They think they know the best. Even when the community is at it's worst and they are bleeding player, they think they know the best. When the guys from the finance sector force them to listen to the community, they still do it their way. They take the good ideas, twist them and ruin them to prove that they are better.

It's such a freaking sad thing because they really are extremely talented at making addicting games that they always ruin after a while.

That's what I mean. The beta and early launch metas (before GvG) were awesome. The meta constantly evolved, not even Zoo lock lasted very long because there were no intentionally implemented gimmicks that relied on single cards. There was tons of innovation and massive amount of decks on ladder who reached legend without netdecking.

Yes, that is what I meant as well. There are 30 cards in a deck, the chance is more than fair for the Renolock not to draw his anti-aggro cards, especially Reno. Same with pirate mirrors: who gets the most 4-5 mana cards in opening hand loses. Then you get the odd jade druid that you can easily crush like I did at Rank 2 the other day (this is all Wild of course) and it turns out pirate warrior is the best deck to ladder with.

Chances are the same for all decks, only you don't have to go through 4 Kazakuses with face decks before you lose, you just know from the first minute.
