My wall user is Y'shtola, actually. So if I bring it native I usually bring Vanille, too, since I don't want to get caught dropping wall for asylum. I've been very fortunate with mage BSBs, so I run them, OK, and double mages to nuke most fights. Never was much of a fan of the Keeper, anyway.

Also to note, Onion actually can't get meltdown, since he has to dive for 5* Black. His magic command hits like a motherfucking truck though, and his great equip selection means he usually has synergy equips. I'd probably bring Raging Storm and some support skill

I recently finished the colosseum and I'm wondering, is it reasonably easy to get into the top 30k bracket in arena without orb refreshes? Just wondering since if there's no chance of getting there, I'll just play a little arena each season to secure the top 90k bracket prizes and be done with it.

The tickets are always the number one priority. After that is good exclusive items (which is the katana here, get it, and then get durandal if you don't have a cecil to get excalibur from). Star Quartz and megacites are also really nice. You'll want the 100 gigantaurs and awakening mats for your main team. Those would be the best things you to grab in my humble opinion.

first priority to anyone should be the summon tickets.
second priority is the event exclusive gear/materias, you don't want to regret missing that shit later. the katana and Durandal are a must have.
third pirority is whatever you need. Mats, magicites, gigantuars, etc. buy the mats first in case you need to awaken a unit to do the event easier

General elemental spells, preferably dualcast ones are good, Tauntilate is good if you have any characters that can run it, what >>171878527 said, and various other things. Multi-Break is wanted for various raids and high end content, for example, and there's some niche uses for various other skills. It really just depends on what your setup is.

His death was horrible for Ivalice; Larsa wasn't anywhere near ready to rule yet, he probably needed at least a decade more to gain proper experience both in ability and worldview, and the world was in no place to have Larsa as a leader anyways. I think they're trying to phase out Tauntilate a bit since it was so popular earlier in the game's lifespan. For a lot of earlier content, it was the go to strategy for shutting down a lot of content.

Sticking full physical is usually okay for most stuff, but since it's hard to plan for the future chains might be a good idea later on. Black orbs pretty much don't go into anything else useful, so while you might want to conserve the elemental ones for other abilities, don't be shy about using those.

Orlandeau's BSB is probably not that great on it's own, but powerchain could help it since the charge time is so long. You can probably skip wrath if none of your SB chars can use that and not lifesiphon, but you might want to remember it eventually since it works well for bosses that counter physically.

Expect to have at least two copies of Lifesiphon honed for a physical party. TGC would benefit from Powerchain the most for his BSB, unless a roaming warrior can provide some method of quick cast/instant cast for the party. Banishing Strike is a very nice ability to stick onto those who can use it. Of course, if there's a battle where something uses a fuckton of buffs and absorbs holy, it may not be the best option vs the dispel spell on its own. Don't really have much for monks myself, so I can't say shit about what's good from that school specifically.

Getting the important 4* abilities to at least rank 3 is another goal for you. 5* abilities to rank two is okay for now as well. Certain abilities will have different charges available (summons with less, healing with more, etc), so keep that in mind. Protectga/Shellga can probably last for a while at rank one or two, but that depends on a lot of variables.
