I just came back for Legion, having not played since Wotlk. I've leveled a monk to 85 but have been really wanting to try DH. Do I miss anything by not leveling through MoP/WoD zones - since I hear that after DH complete their starting zone they're sent right into Legion zones without seeing the situation that leads other classes into those zones?

What was Blizzard thinking with these Augur nerfs? They completely ruined the fight.

Like, I agree that the fight was very tightly tuned with steep gear requirement and it could have used a nerf, but only on its hard enrage timer. Give groups 10-20 seconds more at the end and shit's fine.

Instead, they gave him 10% more health which is not only a dramatic life decrease, but it completey destroys the fight because it cuts out the most challenging, and frankly most fun parts of each phase. In the frost phase, the only time you could realistically wipe after you learned the fight is the third set of frost crystal debuffs. That's when things get hectic, the room is already cramped, people need to match star signs and the tank needs to drop his debuff. This is the part the entire phase has built up to and the part after which you generally get into the next phase.
Now you skip this crunch time by default because of laughable HP and the entire frost phase is autopilot brainless shit.

Fel phase, where you previously used bloodlust to avoid the third nova cast, well you skip that by default because of the low HP now too. Again all checks of decent play are subverted because the dps check is now so lenient nobody cares if you play like shit, you'll have enough DPS anyway.
But the biggest joke is the final phase. Where previously all hell broke lose and you just barely passed the enrage timer, you now have a smooth 60-90 seconds. Crunch time here was the third fear cast of the second add - you're running out of healing cds, you have star signs and the eye beam to deal with. Now you fucking ignore the second add because the boss drops so fucking fast. It's a fucking disgrace.

Every phase was building up to a big test as the number of star signs increases, the number of ice crystals/fel pools or as you were simply running out of time.. Now, every phase is robbed of its final, climatic test. WoW was robbed of a great fight because hurr better nerf this in time for tomb

Gul'dan put Mannoroth's soul back into his body which meant he wouldn't need to spend as much time in the nether reforming.

Tbh it's magic and that's how magic has always worked across any medium of entertainment. The writers have it to do whatever they need it capable of doing at that exact moment. It's not even one of those things you can blame Blizz's shitty writing because everybody fucking does it.
