Sure, but we're not talking about someone standing over every fallen Iron Lord. I don't doubt that Rasputin would be able to keep track 100 Iron Lords and 100 Ghosts, but I feel like if he could put down 91 of them, there's no reason why those other 9 were able to get through. Like, Rasputin's a Warmind. He should be able to keep track of ten times that number of combatants, keep track of when those Ghosts phased into existence, and when to take those Ghosts out.

Rasputin wasn't micro-managing the fight, as far as I understand. He just turned on a bunch of defenses and had them go at the Iron Lords. And it wasn't that 91 died and then 9 broke through, it was that 9 broke though WHILE the other 91 were dying. This was part of the plan:

Yeah I just read Rasputin's card about the Iron Lord's foray into Site 6. It makes even less sense then, since three Iron Lords were able to protect each other over the course of hours against a ton of bad guys on Pikes, there's very little reason why they couldn't perform a similar bounding overwatch technique when breaching Site 6.

I guess immortality just makes you stupid and prefer rushing in rather than maximising effectiveness.

We don't know that he didn't. But Rasputin said he fought the Darkness at "the gate of the garden", and the Siva facility he controlled is on Earth. So if the "garden" refers to, say, human controlled space, the "gate" may be the farthest human colony in the solar system, outside the reach of Rasputin's Siva facility. Or possibly Mercury (the Traveler made it into a garden world). Or possibly Mars, though the Black Garden seems like a stretch to me. The point is, Rasputin probably didn't have the opportunity.

Furthermore, the Darkness is a badass, it can almost certainly take on Siva.

Finally, I don't think Siva can do a "light everything on fire all the time" attack. That kind of attack takes energy, and probably burns out a high percentage of mites (you know, 'cause they're on fire). And the Iron Lords aren't incompetent, they're not going to make it easy for Rasputin.

Like, you're oscillating between "the Guardians are unkillable gods, how did Rasputin stop them?" to "Siva is an unbeatable weapon, how did the Guardians get anywhere?". Have you considered something in between those extremes?

Sure, but what's in the lore doesn't even slightly match up to what's in the gameplay. In-game, it's said that SIVA can do almost anything - like literally rewrite matter, similar to Glimmer. That ALONE means that a Warmind wielding SIVA shouldn't have any issues. Just change the molecular makeup of an Iron Lord into gold. Done.

Rasputin doesn't have transport vehicles, as far as is known. He depended on human infrastructure to deploy his warsats, he needed us to open the Array. He was able to defend Site-6 because it's a secure military site designed to use SIVA as a weapon. But SIVA was a still-in-developement golden age technology, Site-6 was probably a research base, mass production and deployment seems beyond the scope of its abilities.

Rasputin has only recently been woken up, and we're the one's who gave him access to the rest of the Solar System by opening the Array. It looks like he's started trying to deploy Siva elsewhere:

ACTIVE SIVA mites in a hostile configuration. Either in a temporary attack, like Aksis P2, or being generated from a Siva node. There are no endlessly burning lakes of SIVA.

Again, a weapon research base is not the same thing as a shipyard. SIVA is capable of doing a lot, but that doesn't mean it can build a ship at the snap of your fingers. It was designed to terraform planets, a task that takes a very long time (years), and doesn't involve being shot at. Using SIVA to build large objects is probably both slow, and obvious, and Rasputin was hiding until recently.

Not a single thing has been shown that separates us from 'other' Guardians except - thanks to fourth-wall-breaking and being controlled by humans - our Guardian is just 'better'. Again, you keep assuming that these are feasible. SIVA is a fancy ass 3D printer, not fucking magic. It can print you a lava floor, but you still need to pump lava-floor amounts of energy in to run it. Vosik and Aksis do, infact, flood rooms with lethal SIVA. It takes time to charge up and even longer recharge.

You can launch it at things, but it only has the energy it can carry, which is enough to do some damage, but not burn forever. The tentacle-swarm thingies create a chain to a power source, so the swarms can continue attacking.
