As an Alex player I feel like he's pretty solid but spending meter just to have a reliable antiair, then having it nerfed alongside his jab AA just feels really fucking bad. I'm stuck doing jump back jab half the time it feels like.

I harded called back in S1 when they announced their intention to remove AA jabs that this would fuck alex the hardest because he has no other viable normal

cr.hp is a crap AA for numerous reasons, its awful hurtboxes, awkward tendency to whiff you away from your opponent and get you punished rather than hit them out of the air, and pathetically slow startup all add up to an awful move

Also ex.air knee is insanely slow and also covers less space and fewer angles than a DP and also no invuln while still having free punish levels of recovery

Annoying gimmicky mechanics in SF4 and SF4:

crouch tech and other option selects for every situation
focus attack and way to make wakeup DP safe
Ultras
vortex from safejumps (kind of fixed in Ultra by delayed wakeups)

crush counters
v-trigger

So many more gimmicks that I hate in SF4 and I still love that game much more than Jive.

Of course there's always battle lounges to learn in, unfortunately half of the features don't work

OK, I don't really play that game or know what that character has to work with, honestly she looks more fun than anyone so far and I'm tempted. The generic answer to your generic question is watch the replays, see where things go the most south, hop into training mode and use record/replay to find answers, and if you really truly can't figure out how to win against w/e characters relative to Kolin's options maybe it's time to switch characters or games

i just don't rematch anyone above with a character above level 35-40 in casuals

SF4 had more depth, more options, more diverse character designs etc.

Despite all the bullshit (and boy was there a lot) it let you define your playstyle and actually express yourself as a player, not to mention willingly invest so much practice time to learn the the intricacies of your main. Jive is just a boring, flat game.
