Oh well.

After the NL update in November, I got curious if the usual 20%-25% chance for a camper to show up has been increased or decreased.
I started doing resets whenever I had 9 villagers. Sometimes I'd keep daily tabs if a camper showed up or not.
I know most of you already have your dream villagers or use cards to acquire them easily. I did this research out of curiosity.

Here are the results so far. I'll still keep track of this data to refine the accuracy of the % chance for a villager to show up:

I took a total of 105 campsite checks thus far. It's not enough to estimate the exact chance, but it should give a rough estimate with a margin of error ~5%.

Pic related, it's the notepad I keep track of all this. I listed in sets of 10 checks (marked with roman numbers) where each set has its own % chance attached. Then I wrote for each month the final chance for a villager to show up. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong with any of those numbers.

Currently the chance for a villager to show up in your campsite is 25/105, or 5/21 (23.8%).
The chance that I speculate to be is 1/4 (25%). The true exact chance is between 20% and 25% (because random number generators aren't perfect).

In conclusion, nothing seems to have changed since the update.

Unrelated to what I mentioned above, I'm looking for the following items:

Can offer bells, bushes, trees and items I may have in my catalog. For the 3DSs can offer in addition some fortune cookie tickets, unfortunately nothing above #50.

It really depends on if you like AC or not. Since you've never played it, I'd recommend emulating with AC:Gamecube or Wild World to see if it appeals to you. If you like it, maybe it's worth it.
They are both easy to emulate. City Folk may leave a bad taste in your mouth if you try that first.

I've been watching the games on youtube, streams, etc. Have tried emulating City Folk, which I did enjoy, and currently have Wild World on my phone and I am having fun with it, just despise the controls due to the small screen. I don't think you need to worry about that. If anything they would end WiiU internet support before 3DS. While the Switch is also a psuedo-handheld, the 3DS has an absolutely enormous consumer base, and Nintendo would be pretty damn silly to try to end support for its financial safetynet right now. Especially if the alternative is expensive, has few games currently, and has paid internet.

You can already do 3d with Dolphin's stereoscopic setting. Works relatively well with AC after a lot of fiddling with depth and convergence.

There is terrifying news.
I think there's something wrong with my cartridge, it keeps saying there's something wrong and closing the game when I try to load into my town on my 2ds (it works fine on my friend's DS, and other games run on my 2ds just fine too including my sisters copy of animal crossing, but it just claimed my Tomodachi Life save data was corrupted and wiped it all so I have no idea what is going on) I don't know what's wrong but as a cautionary measure I ended up uploading my Dream Address earlier than I wanted to.
I'm really sad and worried guys, I was so close to having more or less finished my town and even got the last amiibo cards I wanted and now I don't know what will happen..

Perhaps the contacts on your cartridge and/or 2DS are dirty? Try giving them both a light cleaning with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Make sure it's dry before you turn it back on.

I am a chronically ill NEET and my only escape for many months was this game, I have poured hundreds of hundreds of hours into perfecting my town and I'm *still* not happy with it, this isn't just about losing my catalogue and my museum and my unlocked shops, it's about losing a town that took hundreds of hours of plot resetting, placing QRs, borrowing a 3ds to visit my own time 100 time to unlock the train station and even time travelling 500 days one at a time to grow my town tree.
I can't just get this back. I'm really panicking at the thought of losing it. I'm so glad it seems to be my 2ds and not my cartridge I'm almost in tears.

I still hold that with the exception of the over excessive bloom, Wind Waker HD is one of the best remakes I've seen (graphically). It keeps the same aesthetic and what made WW charming.

There are special campers that don't require amount to set up their RVs. They are animals associated with events, like Saharah, Chip, Nat, Jingle, and so on. They occupy one of the two parking spaces in the campground, the other is RVs of characters you have to scan in. They change daily, and you can scan an RV into the campgrounds once a day.

They're accessible right after you save the game for the first time.
