The thing is if you give fireball 50% pierce the balls explode in the middle of the pack and the pack dies. If you give ice spear 50% pierce then it will hit on average like 2 more mobs. So with gmp you're hitting 15 mobs out of a pack of let's say 50.

The frost orb shit and freeze pulse pierce naturally so at least they can clear packs. Of course freeze pulse is close range and frost orb has a slow as all fuck projectile.

So how do you justify it over fireball?

What physical "melee" skills are viable on Ranger other than Frost Blade?

I'm able to kill Cruel Izaro with level 34 unique claws without getting to Crematorium all thanks to the elegant Acrobatics thick single layer defenses. My crits send mobs to Standard just like these blokes do work on your SSF ladder. The direct and poison damage scaled by inherent tag and chaos damage through added chaos and Toxic Delivery kills everything faster before you can say Legacy Kaom's. This is a true aesthethical league that is TAHC where my build is easily funded by trading all the chisels made while going to maps, all bosses viable. Hope you enjoy your corrupt PoE experience since our Exalted Orb prices better not be touched by cretins like you.

Keep in mind, your build still had 90 points used. Meaning you'll hit it at level 66. Meaning you have 14 points left (A shit ton of which are going towards reaching the mandatory 3-4 jewel slots) before you start hitting the point where levels are few and far between, grossly exaggerated by the fact that you still don't deal any fucking damage.

Dev decided to off himself for some reason

/poeg/ still underestimates resistances on the tree, like it's some huge and unworthwhile investment every time.

A good example is the Marauder 15% all elemental resistances. It's common to see people have their complete build yet they choose to ignore it for 1 point. A lot of nodes that have resistances + other stuff are generally good as well.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're god-tier and must-have. But /poeg/'s attitude of them are a bit too negatively bias I think.

I had an idea.

What if, instead of using threshold gems to make old skills better, they implemented a system where you get to choose to "alter" a skill at a certain level, or keep it the same and provide benefits?

For example:

>Glacial Hammer
>At level 10, you may either transform it into the skill Ice Crash, or keep it as Glacial Hammer, but gaining the effects of Winter Burial

>Cleave can transform into Cyclone, but keeping it as Cleave grants it the effects of Overwhelming Odds

It seems like it would be far more graceful than forcing people who wish to use these skills to sac a jewel slot for it that could potentially boost health or other good stats.

That and there are some skills which don't correlate as well as GH and IC or Cleave and Cyclone do. You'd be making stretches in a lot of cases.

That's the issue with those jewels in particular, not threshold jewels themselves. Volley Fire is a good threshold jewel, turning a single target skill into a semi-AoE skill, for example, while Barrage without the jewel remains perfectly viable. atziri is piss fucking easy with a generic double dipper build. dont fucking hit the mirror, dont fuck up vaals if you cant dps down the enraged one fast, leave the last one alive at trio strategically. bring your resist flasks if you cant handle the lameblasts/storm calls. depending on build for über izaro traps might be harder then the izaro fight lol. i can do traps somewhat deathless with 1 eternal 50% faster recovery and 1 divine insta flask. you might not rip at all if youre not a retard like me. if you want the max keys tho, some of the phases will be rippy. essences, charges comes to mind. portals too maybe if you cant kill the mobs fast enough. had that problem when carrying 4+ people. if you just get your points tho it will be a bit easier but less loot. last room at izaro fight is fucking aids tho. its like you have to walk forwards and backwards in this small corridor while dodging izaros 1 shots. oh and on dw swords days izaro uses a slow reave attack and while avoidable you might rip to it even if you hear the sound que. happens to me when he is off-screen and im running away from him trying to reposition.

Unbuffed Uber Izaro isn't so very hard. His slam/slash probably still do about 5k unmitigated but he's not as difficult as, for instance, Colosseum Daresso. All his damaging attacks are slow wind-ups so you can dodge them pretty easily. The only dangerous bit about him is the green spooge his backgirl spurts at you when you're at range from him, which he doesn't do if you're in melee with him. That goop can do a lot of damage and stun you, then he might leap slam you for the finish.

Atziri these days is pretty trivial for most builds. You have to not stand in the storm calls and flameblasts and not hit the mirror clone but most every build these days takes her down to clone phase in half a second

Uber lab is the same as regular lab and the traps are actually identical layouts with totems added in for the most part. If you didn't have a problem with traps before you probably won't now.

Technically uber lab is a tier 8 zone, but Izaro is much harder than a tier 8 boss. Maybe more akin to the difficulty of the tier 13 bosses, where you might actually die and they aren't a complete joke. But tier doesn't really mean much when it comes to difficulty, that's more the boss specifics than the level scaling. Like, a level 82 Hillock would still be pretty easy.
