Errors detected. Taro may retroactively base android physiology on Platinum's laziness, like he did with the day/night cycle in Nier, but as it is the corpses aren't proof.

Who else was super disappointed in the weapon variety/weapon upgrading?

I really wanted more weapons from Drakengard 1, 2, and 3 to show up in this game, in particular Caim's Sword, Slaughterism, and Moonfire. In addition, I'm supremely disappointed that leveling weapons up no longer changes the way they look.

The ending to so much more depressing than I thought it would be. I had a hope that, even though humans are gone, at least human culture, philosophy, emotions, etc. would live on it a new species, the androids or maybe even the machines. BUT NO. They both limited to copying, not creating. The androids are very close to their own humanism, but they are forever (?) doomed to be needing and wanting to serve a god who will never be, thus preventing them from being equal and independent. The Solar System is no longer contributing to the universal struggle of life or finding and creating propose. The androids and machines are locked in an eternal, single-minded conflict that defines their existence. Life is about taking on, dealing with, and choosing conflicts. They, however, do not have the "free will" to choose anything besides infinite war.

That's not entirely true. Key unlocks elevator in the mall. Emil's house is when you unlock truck Emil and talk to him. The pipe and the entire cave leading to his house is accessible as soon as the sink-hole happens, but the door that actually leads to his house is closed until you meet Emil for the first time.

They are machines, so it is very likely Pascal didn't teach them how to cope with fear. Because of this, they probably felt terrorized to the point they couldn't think through.

Moreso when they actually can feel pain, so if their fear cause them to be afraid of pain after witnessing other robots eating each other, you bet they'd rather kill themselves than being devoured alive.

They aren't being programmed to leave, they're being allowed to leave as their development occurs. This was the next step from having a bunch of individuals kept in a larger forum, which was what the machine network was running off of since Beepy - allowing individuals to leave that forum, that they thought would bring them closer to where they needed to be. At least until a bunch of dead end machines in the desert gave birth to Adam, and it turned out that everyone leaving the network was slowly going batshit.

They're divergent in that their program is "create village, live in village, attempt to broker peace" and they have as much movement room as you or i beyond that.

They'll never leave that village or actively seek war but they CAN do shit like, say, read from nietzsche and attain a new outlook or invent a super tower that launches shit into space etc.
If you wiped them or popped them into a new body they'd be memoryless but would still work their way towards the village life.

However them being the nucleous for peace means that actively throws a wrench into the networks plans which actively forces it to evolve to solve the new issues that the new faction causes.

Tl;dr the network has a vagueish idea what pascals village will do but has zero idea what the actual consequences of it will be beyond it being actively detrimental to their plans.

A Replicant is a human body without a soul, so they're completely human biologically, they just can't produce children.

Most of what a sentient Replicant is taught comes from their DevoPopo overseers so of course they would never question anything.

It kind of touches on the theory that the body cannot be seperated from the soul and remain whole. Like if you took a human brain from its body and put it in a robot; it's no longer the same person, it's something else.

Thinking more about the machine's displays of humanity, they are likely to "break free". They only have parts and pieces of the human experience. The desert, forest, amusement park, and village machines anchor themselves to these parts. The village machines are the most complex of course, but they are still just copying an aspect of humanity. What determines whether an enemy is launched? I just did 2Bs launch attack (jump then heavy) on the same enemy like 20 times, it actually launched about 6 or 7 times.

Like, Automata has probably the most interesting story and world out of anything that's come out since Bloodborne, and the discussion about it has been pretty indicative of that as well. But I don't have the words to describe how constantly erect I was while playing Persona 5 last year. Thanks to delays between releases I can't decide what GOTY is this year and we're only 3 months in.

The whole point sub-point of the story is that either androids or machines are sort of becoming the "new" humans, as they advance and understand emotions. The only thing stopping them from going full human on us, is that they haven't figured out how to sexually reproduce.

Considering that the machines were sort of discovering sex. That's not out of the realm of possibility.

Clones went berserk because of the fighting and no memories to carry them on, and Emil was able to figure out what was happening so he went to stop them. The clones should also then be able to sense if others were causing trouble and going crazy.

That's not it, when Project Gestalt failed the news that humanity was gonna be extinct leaked. Since android were programmed to serve humanity, many started feeling helpless losing their reason d'etre.
Now I don't really know what happens when, so I don't know if aliens came first or YorHa was made first, but at a certain point they started damage controlling the failure of Project Gestalt and made up that the humans went to the moon and needed the androids to reclaim Earth.

Thing is humanity is very much like God for androids, giving them a sense of purpose.

So the server has three primary things:
1) The human genome or information on it based on the remaining gestalts
2) Data for the structure of the replicants aka, the human body
3) A personality matrix and thought function that is similar to that of a human and based on the genome data.

I think that the cargo containers filled with pure water and parts are meant for the few androids on the moon maintaining the thing.
