That is one real problem the Neptunia series has in general: the fact that magic and Type Defense Ignore is so overpowered compared to other physical characters. Until they change that, magic characters will always be more powerful than physical. It wasn't a big deal in HDN, but from mk2 onwards, Rom and Ram were the most powerful characters.

I really like the overall gameplay, but the games tend to have some serious balancing issues.

90% of the content is completely useless/pointless because the games are so easy. It's almost never worth it to grind for plans because you'll only become overleveled if you do that, etc.

Also my personal pet peeve is how stuff like Super jump and Super/hyper bracelet tend to be completely worthless because all the previously inaccessible treasure they grant you access to are almost always pure shit.

If you have two attacks with a power of 100, except that one is actually 4 hits, and the other is 1 hit, the calculation will go like that against an armour of 25% :
(100/4)-1/5 roughly translate to four hits that will deal 20 damage (5 damage being blocked) for a total of 80 dmg.
On the other hand, you have the single attack that supposely deals 100 damage but actually only deals 75 dmg.

With that, I'm curious what system Neptunia uses, but my own calculations bring a different result.

There's a tiny invincibility frame.
The game isn't that hard once you understand that you are human against monstrosities that you cannot held in your pocket.
There's basically 3 difficulty in MH:
Your first time against a big monster: you end up ass raped because overconfident
The low to high rank: your stuff immediately become shit so you have to learn again how to beat monster (plus they have new moves to rape you, you'll love it)
The last difficulty would be finishing every mission. Cause you'll have to hunt monster you hate to fight and will have to know them perfectly for the g-rank, which is harder than high rank with few more moves.

Personally, I hate playing solo, it's kinda boring to me. But I like the 3ds/psp game more than the others, being physically with your friends feels just better, just like playing an old beat'em up or Mario Kart.

I played Monster Hunter on the PSP and it was kinda fun. Basically you choose an equipment, a quest, and go to a dungeon to kill the requested monster. Between the quests you can upgrade your weapon or amor, eat stuff for bonus stats or train cute kitties that act as AI partners in dungeons.
It wasn't extremely hard, but, as >>171556979 said, a lot of diffuculty came from the trial-and-error situations you get into when battling monsters for the first time.
