Nier 1 takes place around 3400, the last living humans die around 4200, the aliens invade around 5000, Beepy gives ego and self-awareness to the machines and earliest YoRHa models sometime a few centuries after this, then there's an eternal stalemate between androids and machines until Automata takes place around 12000

Just clear the area around the bunny statue and the confetti stubbies/fliers on the stairs, then warp to your favorite other farming area (Forest has a fuckload of enemies which means you get a lot of chips every time you clear it) and wipe it then go back to the carnival again

God willing you'll get really good drop rate up chips while you're doing this and you can improve your efficiency (the Carnival fliers drop them)

All those things stem from the Queen Beast's magic which we know they dissected and studied extensively for the purposes of Project Gestalt.

Would be interesting to find out if there's a deeper meaning there, though. I just don't see it right now because the game's plot itself is so far removed from the Watchers themselves (the aliens being related to them might be the case, but they went and got their shit pushed in centuries ago so if that is the case then the Watchers very clearly got pushed right out of the events going on)

Nah the way I understood it is that that was really true, keep in mind that the original's death didn't make them all drop dead but just destabilize and relapse, some of the relapsed gestalts actually did survive for 800 years after the Shadowlord got fucked before they finally died off

As you may have understood, they're not blaming the Dev & Pop in Automata, but the Dev & Pop models, the original D&P in Nier fucked up and didn't manage to protect the shadowlord which was the original stable Gestalt. I spent 13 hours with 2B until ending A, now I'm dealing with 9S to get ending B.

The thing is, how much time I will spend with 9S? the gameplay isn't boring and his heavy attacks are really nice but the game tells you "hack dis shit" since that mechanic is the same shit as the block on MGRising, spam it and win, that makes it a little bit boring sometimes.

Cutscenes are locked at 30 FPS though, and they stutter like a mother fucker, game is locked to 60 FPS and seems to run fine.

2B got the only alterations, you mean. I have yet to see anyone talk about any other character being changed from the Japanese. It's a shame that she was slightly altered from the original personality, but it's not hard to see why. They thought western audiences would appreciate a stronger-sounding female lead than the gentler demeanor of the JPN 2B.

I consider this no different from the West getting Papa Nier instead of Onii-chan Nier. Frankly, I prefer the harder-sounding 2B to her Jap incarnation simply because I feel she plays better with 9S's innocence and naivete. She's still full of emotion and subtlety in critical moments and lines, it's just less obvious with the English 2B than the JPN 2B.

It's hard to convey the resolve/excitement/intensity of a remark in Japanese accurately to other languages without adding curse words because of the fact that curses are used that way in English while in Japanese curses are rarely used at all, and instead other cues are used to convey the same intention.

From my perspective, I wouldn't expect A2 to be polite either, but my impression from her english voice is like she wouldn't mind scrapping him on the spot, whereas in jp, she is more like fed up, nothing much.

As for the commander, the context at hand was her speech at the start of ending C which was meant to be inspiring for the troops. It has no implication of being emotional hence why I mentioned that. They could simply go with her giving a speech and be done with it, but had to add that for weird reason.

Charismatic leader can give speeches that hit home among the soldiers without expressing their own emotions in the lot.
That's exactly what happened with the Commander, hence why I was quite surprised by that change. It is minor, mind you, but it is worth noting that 2B is clearly not the only character affected by script changes.

That said, I consider the script as serviceable, not downright awful compared to DoD3 with Zero.

Right, which is my point. A2 shows a huge lack of respect in the JPN dub by Japanese cultural values, which is just about the same as the lack of respect shown when you insult someone in English. It's not like A2 is violently screaming at the pod or anything. The way she says it in the English dub comes off as really not having it for anything the pod tries to say or ask her, which seems to be just like her reaction in JPN dub.

The commander put exactly as much emotion into the speech as is normally expected in English speeches of the same variety. In English speeches, there's nothing more inspiring than knowing your commander feels exactly the same way you do, which the commander successfully conveys with just that one extra curse word. I consider this a beneficial liberty in the translation for that very reason.

He is excited, but not about his job, about having a partner which makes his job a little less tedious. Job's still tedious, though. I mean, he just got done saying how happy he is to have a partner and then realizes he has to go do solo work again and won't be able to hang out with her yet.

Another could very possibly character alienation. There is a point in which something could be odd enough that it just doesn't click with most people.
I'm not saying there's anything in particular in this game that does that, but it's certainly something they considered during development.

It's something in the industry - even over seas - that not everything needs to be explained in a games story or world but just needs to be believable.
This also lets us do what we're doing now by discussing theories and giving meaning to it in our own way.
