Now is a good time to pick it up if you're looking to do story stuff because of the xp buff. I'd recommend subbing once to get level cap and expansions.

Merc and agent (trooper/smuggler for pub) are the best, warrior/knight somewhere in the middle and sorcs/sages at the absolute bottom.

I love star wars.

I was a wee lad playing Shadows and X-Wing and then after that was jedi academy then the rogue squadron games.

kotor 1-2 are some of my all time favorite games still to this day. I used to replay them every summer when school got out.

I tried to play swtor and it was fun but I don't really like the gameplay, but the story and playing dress up were both fun.

I was excited for 1313 since gritty non-jedi stories are my favorite (Republic Commando was one of my favorite games, and the bounty hunter and galactic civil war books were my favorite books).

The perfect star wars game for me would have you travel to several planets like swtor, play as a non-jedi or at least have becoming a jedi be an optional part of the story (choosing force sensitivity or not during character creation, and actual training be a part but it would have downsides like reliance and being detected by bad force users).

What if we got a star wars game with a map like fallout/skyrim, gameplay with shooting and abilities like mass effect, and a story on the caliber of kotor 1-2.

KotET is better on the whole because of the lack of the episodic release format
there's some cool new environments, some cool ways of looking at existing environments, some neat gameplay sequences but the story does get pretty wanky at the end

Trooper is the worst story in SWTOR. The first part was the best part, because there was motivation and interest in the story. In Ch2 onward, it's a bland generic plot.

Light Side, you will repeat the same lines over and over, which are boring to begin with. "Sir, yes sir!" "You can count on Havoc Squad!"

Dark Side, it's not much better. Certainly more entertaining to be a renegade and kill people (and Jen. Hale's voice makes it better), but the choices are so blatantly absurd. You, a junior officer in the Republic Military, get the choice to flat-out murder a rival, where your only """punishment""" is having some old woman gently scold you. (And you can tell her to fuck off.)

Imperial Intelligence is outside the normal chain of command, regardless of race. Minister > Keeper > Ciphers and Watchers probably have much more pull than Fixers and Menders.

Technically, the Sith Lord of the Sphere of Intelligence is their direct superior, but they probably have to answer to all Sith just like every other Imperial citizen.
