I just finished playing the trial. I loved to so much that I immediately pre-ordered the game.

The shit animations and all that other bullshit is just a plebian YouTube meme. Outside of the one character that is constantly getting memed (that lady in the nu-citadel)) I literally did not notice it while playing. Remember when Witcher 3 came out and so many videos were posted about how shit the game was because of the bugs regarding Roach, but anyone who actually played the game never experienced those bugs, or determined it was so minor that it didn't affect gameplay? Same bullshit here. I think this game may be one of the best games released in 2017.

Out of the Foundation novels, "Foundation", "Foundation and Empire" and "Second Foundation" are the original stories that he wrote in the 50s, the other Foundation-novels (chronologically) before and after that were written in the 80s. Incidentally the newer stories are better thought out, the original 3 books are kind of dated now and in my opinion are worse, but nevertheless you better read them.
Then there is Iain Banks' Culture series, it's basically hit and miss, there's a lot good shit in it, especially the lore, and action scenes and twists are pretty nice as well, his prose is great, but some books aren't so good, some are great though. if you ever want to read it, pick up The State of the Art first, which is a general short story collection of his with a few Culture related stories, the one playing on earth being an incredibly good introduction into the Culture

Then there's Heinlein. He went crazy in his latter days (I'm stuck with I will fear no Evil right now because it SHOULD be absolute fetish fuel for me but I cringe pretty much once every couple of pages), The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Starship Troopers, Stranger in a Strange Land or Friday. Also his short stories (most of them conveniently collected in "The Past Through Tomorrow") are pretty rad.
His older stuff is generally good to outstanding (The Puppet Masters, The Door into Summer etc), more recent stuff is very crazy, some is outright shit, but out of the newest stuff he wrote (in the 80s), Friday absolutely stands out.
Can't say much about Clarke, never liked his style, couldn't get into his most popular novels so I skipped him.
If you can stomach it, take a look at David Brin's Uplift universe.
Liked Mass Effect but felt it had a lot of missed opportunities? Boy, will you hate Uplift, because it has a lot of similar themes but misses the interesting parts even more. Take a look at the wiki articles but keep in mind that he focuses on the most boring shit in his novels instead of the greater picture that would make the stories interesting as fuck.

Library of America also have a nice set of 50s Sci-Fi books (bought that set because I couldn't find The Stars my Destination in HC anywhere else), every single one of them is great, but written from a 50s perspective (no one could imagine newfangled nonsense like cell phones or portable computers back then).
Anyway, The Stars my Destination. That book man, I read that in one go. So fucking enjoyable. The wiki article calls it "proto cyberpunk" and maybe that's not so wrong.
I was recommended "The Demolished Man" by Alfred Bester as well, but I really didn't like it at all.
Maybe check out The Stainless Steel Rat by Harry Harrison, it's enjoyable comedy with great storytelling.
Dune should be a given, it's a bit dry though, I can honestly say I enjoyed watching Lynch's movie more than reading the book.
If you like old pulp stuff, check out John Carter of Mars. He's basically proto-Superman.
More Cyberpunk? Read Gibson's Sprawl trilogy (Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive), his prose is horrible though, so don't overthink it to much (PKD has a similar problem).
And if all else fails, check out some comics.
Planetary, Tokyo Storm Warning (especially this if you enjoyed Evangelion) or Global Frequency by Warren Ellis
All the Jodorowsky stuff (The Incal, Metabarons, The Technopriests).
Valerian and Laureline is fucking great (hasn't been completely translated into English yet, if you can read French, pick them up) also there's a movie in the summer:
