I have no interest in EP knowing the kind of story it is and how it revolves around different characters.
IS is a nice game by itself with a bitter sweet ending. There is no urgency to play EP too after completing it. And I knew of a few people like that, who played IS only, or tried EP but didn't finish it.

Personas are basically just the way people present themselves to the world. In the persona games these take the forms of mythological and/or historical figures that share the same kinds of archetypes as the personas themselves. Anne presents herself as a strong woman who does whatever she wants, just like Carmen. Morgana presents himself as a masculine, mysterious skilled warrior just like Zorro. Ryuji presents himself as a violent delinquent that hasn't actually done anything wrong, much like Captain Kidd. These are essentially all very superficial aspects of their characters, and thus cannot really be called inner selves.

What actually happens in the games is that people with enough self-awareness essentially gain the ability to control their personas to some degree. By having this self-awareness they can channel their inner power through their personas in order to fight shadows, demons and whatever other beings born from mental energy there are. People without this self-awareness usually end up being controlled unconsciously by their shadows (which are essentially the source of the inner power), or even end up being attacked by them in some situations.

Again, not really. The costume changes don't show up in cutscenes are pretty clearly not considered to actually happen. Romantic relationships may not be in story scenes, but they at least explain it as you keeping your relationship secret - because frankly, writing the story to acknowledge the relationships is outright unfeasible. P5 does actually have at least one story scene that changes based on your relationship - one of the late game study sessions has your partner blushing at your mention of marriage.
The idea of a canon Joker existing goes against the whole thing - he's a self insert for the player, and as such he's not meant to be a set character that's the same for every player.

I really don't consider the spin off games to have any relation to the base game either honestly, and P5 as it is right now has no canon Joker - a fighting or dancing game with a different director and creative team really doesn't retroactively change the way the base game was written.
