The reason TF2 was hard to balance was because every class had a fuckton of weapon combos, (that and not all weapons are available at the start) which means that balancing a hero for a specific role is harder to do. Maintaining a specific role for each character is key to keeping the game easier to balance.

Meh. Having a wide range healer is a pretty good thing. Allows for divey comps to be viable.

Mercy is the middle ground for lucio and ana. She is not high impact, but she can do more healing than lucio. Can't aura heal, but can heal transfer faster than ana. (most of the time)
