Save up all gold 120 days before each expansion (6100g). This means saving for the next set starting the 18th of April. You can craft remaining top legendaries without the chance of pulling them from packs.

>vS Data Reaper report
The rise of Jade Druid prevents Pirate Warrior from being countered more consistently. While we have seen an improvement in this matchup from the Druid’s perspective over the past week, it’s unlikely to ever be more than a 50-50 affair. So, Jade Druid can never have a significant debilitating impact on Pirate Warrior’s presence. What Jade Druid does instead is preventing any counter to Pirate Warrior from being ladder-viable by completely annihilating it. In order to deal with extreme amounts of uninteractive burn and weapon damage, you need extreme sustainability and mitigation. Sustainability and mitigation is the exact opposite of what you need in the Jade Druid matchup, which forces you to be the aggressor or lose to inevitability. Pirate Warrior has losing records against Control Warrior, Reno Mage and Control Shaman. All of these decks get completely destroyed by Jade Druid. Imagine a game of Rock/Paper/Scissors where Paper gently wraps itself around Rock, Scissors can cut a few holes in Paper, but Rock…. Rock just smashes Scissors to pieces and leaves nothing behind. This is the current situation in Hearthstone.

Why the fuck did they had to ruin arena?
Now it's even more unfair, instead of outdrafting and calculating for value at all times you just get shit on if you don't get constructed tier synergy.

Why was everyone applauding this shit again?
They didn't even remove flamestrike/abyssal and I constantly see them, they literally did nothing but buff the fuck out of lucky drafts and nerf careful, value arena style of play.

>>
>>171232693
You're confusing it with Hearthstone. Where basically Hearthstone decks completely break down when missing a core card, those decks are far more flexible.

The story gives you a lot of free gold, dust, arena tickets and some basic cards. Takes about 15 minutes per class.

Good luck leveling all classes to level 10 in Hearthstone while only having access to basic decks. It will take much longer than that.

>>171232813

I was just comically annihilated by a raza shadowpriest deck.

Why is this bullshit even in the game? It goes beyond MTG-tier bullshittery with this "unconditional instagib" crap.

Whatever miracoli decks were present in the past, they were always conditional and depended on state of the board, both yours and the enemies and how you and your enemy have played thorough the set. For example, in patron warrior to execute an instakill you had to perform a combo properly, so either you had to wait for sufficient mana pool and cards in your hand, or preset it by seting up a turn before you would do so. If you decided to do the latter, your opponent could always ruin your plans by dealing with the preset patron, preset frothing, preset armorsmith, preset warsong or whatever the fuck you decided to preset a turn before, so you could execute full combo next turn. And even if you could you would still be limited by the board, like you having not enough place on your side, or your opponent having minions too big/with taunt/whatever else.

This priest is completely retarded in a way that all you need is 3 fucking cards that you simply have to play whenever, at any time, sooner, later, in the moment you fucking want to, with the only """"""""condition""""""""" is being that coldarra goes in the turn you go for kill, heh. If it goes lucky, you shadowform on 3, raza on 5 and then coldarra with kill on 6. If it goes less lucky all you have to do is survive long enough until tutor through the deck for these 3. As if priest had no utility to do so with alexstraszas, renos, whatever fucking else.

Oh did I mention it doesn't fucking matter how much armor you possibly have?
>>
>>171234396
Because there's like a 1% chance you get Coldarra from Kabal courier?

Don't forget that hero power is bugged and every time you use it too fast or skip turn during an animation there is a probability the game will fuck itself up and won't even let you rejoin
>>
>>171234396
You do realize what the chances are of getting Coldarra Drake, right?
He hinges his entire deck on an OTK combo.
Raza priest is a joke if they don't curve well during the first 6 turns.

You got RNG'd, much like Shredder giving your opponent a Millhouse and you a fucking parrot or Doomsayer when you have a considerably larger board than them.

Playing handbuff paladin is the clunkiest shit ever though.
Sure, you can catch up with pirate nigger and eventually shut him down before he could kill you.
Sure, you can outvalue greedy decks and eventually run them out of removal.
But to do any of this, you need so autismally perfect draw literally nothing compares, resulting in a pathetic winrate anywhere in the single digit ranks.

every deck is the same and every meta deck is absolute pure cancer to play against

it honestly fucking BAFFLES me how blizzard managed to create such an absolutely unfun to play expansion. it has no fucking redeeming qualities whatsoever, everything is either cancer or unusable

No, because look at >>171261995

>I go work and have 10 min

is literally what HS is built around. It's not meant for schmucks who actually play it on the computer and have free time with which to torture ourselves, it's for straight-laced fags who have 5-10 minutes to crack out a game while squeezing out last night's dinner on their first work break. Control decks only serve to ruin their experience, hence their constant beating by Blizzard so that control players don't ruin their potential market.

But, seeing as how control decks persisted in surviving past turn 7 each game, Blizzard had to go from "subtle control nerfing" with shit like Secret Paladin and "Midrange" Shaman to overt "FUCK CONTROL" decks like Jade Id-...erm, Druid.
>>
>>171269127

I'd actually prefer it if the game was more aggro heavy, the power level between viable and non viable midrange/control decks is now so fucking stupid I miss the undertaker hunter days

RNG didn't get worse? The cross class discover cards can discover straight up broken shit like iceblock frost armor jaraxxus, Reno mage win condition is pretty much just generating retarded random value you can't play around or trying to be freeze

Not to mention all Reno decks which are the only control allowed by blizzard are much more rng because of how inconsistent having only one copy of a card is

And then aggro matchups last 6 turns or so so the game depends ENTIRELY on how the aggro player draws. If he could see his card queue he could just forfeit in the spot

Oh and rat pulls deciding control matchups, ragnaros still existing, etcétera
>>
>>171270483
To be fair, Discover is a serious improvement on the game, it was A LOT more random before. Instead of straight up getting a random card, you get to choose between three random cards.

Probably druid, I think. After all, they already got a vanilla adapt minion; also, most adapt minions are going to be beasts, and beasts are a druid archetype they want to push; furthermore, adapt is an effect very similar to most "choose one" effects; finally, adapt is flavor-wise close to what druids usually get/do

The fact that druids already have raven idol will not prevent this in my opinion, because it is very druidish to have many choices through cheap spells; but if it does, then the class with this spell ought to be hunter, because of beasts

It's basically "destroy a minion; the opponent draws a card". Drawing one card = 1.5 mana. Destroying a minion = 4 mana. Sap = 2 mana. That cost is inferior to most hero cards

One of the main "weakness" of hunter as a class after sunshine combo/face hunter was nerfed into oblivion is lack of direct draw, sort of like how priest has no reach/burn, mage (usually) doesn't have strong board presence, warrior and paladin are too "direct"/1-for-1, shaman can do everything , etc.

For compensation, they get tools for "indirect draw", usually in the form of generating cards (lock and load) or having a niche condition attached (quick shot).

I think they took it too far fearing a meta where face hunter is busted again, when they already let other classes with a less aggressive theme surpass it. Something like I suggested would fit the theme well, just look at pic related- call it Tame Beast even

No. Playing a jade minion from hand doesn't increase the jade count. Jade minions in hand are vanilla minions with 1 less health than usual; that is to say: VERY BAD, unless your hand is empty.

Many excellent cards are battlecries. Many excellent ones aren't.

>Did vanish ever help here? Maybe. Did you wish you had something better than vanish at the time? Always
No, that's just wrong. Vanish can protect you from minions that have very HP, and does it for a lower cost than flamestrike. Sure, these minions are (most of the time) not destroyed, but playing them again means paying their mana cost again. What's the mana value of your opponent's board? More than 6 mana? Then using vanish is very beneficial. Boards that cost 10 or more mana are extremely common.

I don't know about rogue because I don't understand the appeal of this class, but I don't want druid to loose Innervate or Wild growth, I want druid to gain new tools to be viable without a single removal spell

>>
>>171286128
This. Rogue and priest players are the biggest whiny bitches in Hearthstone.
>>
Problem:
You can now choose the size of your deck as any multiple of ten and your starting hand is now equal to 1/10 of your deck. You still get an extra card if you're second and draw 1 card at the start of each turn, including the first one. This means that if you choose a 30 card deck, there's no change to the game, but you can for example have a 40 cards deck and start with 1 extra card in hand, or a 20 cards deck and start with 1 less cards in hand.

With these rules, what is the optimal number of cards in a deck, and why?

I bought classic until I had enough to craft the whole golden hall of fame. I already had 2 Golden conceal and one golden Ice lance so it was helpful and classic dust drops are more like average ~100 dust/pack when others are like 10-20. For me at least.

> inb4 0 Arena
I'm not a big fan of "pay and see how shitty your deck may be" + I don't really have time to play 6-12 matchs again just for a few golds and one pack. I know you can get your packs and golds by farming arena but it's too random and studies doesn't allow me enough time for that.

>>
>>171286476
I think the deck sizes are almost perfect for Hearthstone.
Having too many cards and you'll never ever draw what you need.
Have too few and you'll hit fatigue really quickly against a control deck with a decent opener.

Mtg has minimal deck sizes because the card pool is diverse enough that several cards can fit similar functions without being strictly worse than the other, there are also cards that interact with your deck size or cards that dump your deck into the graveyard.

Until we get more mechanics and diversity, larger deck size would really hurt you.

desu adding taunt would probly make it worse. Same if someone told you add heals (like reno decks run 3-4 different heals.)
Miracle needs draw Cold Bloods early to win, not taunts or heals.

> interacting with the board
What's that?
:applies Arcanite Reaper to face:
>>
>>171286731
if not for the starting hand change, it would be an easy decision. but that makes it a lot less clear. the question is can you fit enough good cards into your deck without decreasing its power level too much. more cards in your hand means you are more likely to have spend all your mana every turn, which is extremely important in aggro. with two cards from mulligan and one draw every turn, it can be really hard to get a curve going in the 20 card deck.
we would obviously have to try it out to get a definitive answer.
>>
>>171287021
Yes
>>
>>171287065
It looks like an interesting rule then, doesn't it?
>>
>>171286829
Actually, I think control could benefit from a 20 card deck and more than 30 would only benefit a finely tuned midrange.
Mitigating the problems of the two of a kind limitation, allows you to go head first into your gameplan. Ramp/boomkin would like it, highlander would need less filler too.
Also conssider this: running reno in a 20~10 card non-reno deck means you can deck yourself more quickly and play reno by turn 6 for 10 cards deck, 10 for a 20 cards deck that draws a bit.

>>
>>171286582

Good taunts, heals, normal card draw instead of cycling, good removals and burn damage are not clever enough. Valeera wins only by tempo.

>>171286419
this is the worst thing about the deck. You can easily stabilise with any class but there is no counter to him topdecking lethal turn 7
>>
>>171287267
Because actual reno decks must have 30 cards, so they include filler techs. And since they have techs, they go for a reactive gameplan.
Imagine an intensive aggro that can all or nothing 'til turn 5, then reno, then kaz aiming for direct damage or more cards.

Yeah, but LoE shaman wasn't able to pump out consistent damage starting turn 1, and his best opener if unchecked was probably something like trogg coin spirits.
He was also often forced to run tech cards like Earth Shock because of the risk of being shut out by double belcher or velen'd Deathlord while not being able to lethal burn because you weren't hitting your opponent in the face for 3+ damage every turn since t2.
Pirate aggro shaman before buc and spirit claws nerfs was definitely more degenerate than pirate warrior though.

You could just build the deck and start the run after 2 months if you so choose. You could take 5 months to finish the run with one game a week and nobody would even care.

Now if you're eager to get muh arena rewards that's a different matter involving self-control, but don't blame the game mode for putting pressure on you when that pressure is just in your head.

Stat it down to 4/5 though, that's a strong effect;
>>
>>171290273
Makes your hero power a 2 mana "deal 2 damage to the enemy hero and draw a card", an effect which is alone obivously better than spells like frostbolt (except that it can only go to face and doesn't scale on spell power, both of which are minor details), while being usable each turn and without spending a single card.

The effect itself is very strong, this minion shouldn't be this resilient, especially since its current stats are optimal for a neutral vanilla minion of the same cost.

Make it a 4/5 and it could be "balanced" as most powerful class minions are.

Finally
>>
From the author of >>171290626
Just want to add that "deal 2 damage to the enemy hero and draw a card", as a hero power, equals hunter hero power + warlock hero power + priest/warrior hero power = 6 mana. Let's be nice and say 5 because the priest/warrior ones have others uses. It's still awfully powerful since you just pay 2 mana for it. You basically gain 3 or 4 mana each time you use your hero power, as long as you have this minion in play.

The fact that these numbers are so high is due to the fact that hero powers are usable every turn without spending any card, which is already a very powerful perk.

So, basically, just diminshes the opponent's mana pool as long as the minion lives? Otherwise just a 7 mana 6/8? I don't know or care if it's OP or not (and it probably is), the real problem is that it's extremely uninteresting.

Interactive effects.

I agree with the fact that Hearthstone is often very disappointing, though. I still think your OC card is just an OP vanilla minion which simply prevents your opponent from playing and thus makes the game even more boring.
>>
>>171291973
>6 mana 4/5

hahahaha. it was fine before, playing a 6 mana minion is already a huge commitment. if it doesn't do anything immediately, is pretty bad.
>>
>>171292163
First of all its not meant to be a 6/8 that was my mistake i meant to make it a 4/8 and i believe thematically its perfect. It basically erases the first card your opponent plays from time
>>
>>171292016
The original Nozdormu at least changes the way we play, that's interesting
Your card doesn't change the way we play, it only prevents us from playing as much
>>
>>171291973
A bit underpowered legendary, I think. 1 more HP and barring "your turn" would make it almost playable
>>

In the WoW:TCG, your opponent got to declare if his Protector (taunt) was getting in the way of an attack or not.
So you would declare a face attack and he would say nope.
Protectors could also only trigger once per round, and if they attacked during your turn they couldn't also protect during your opponent's turn. They also didn't have stat penalties like they do in Hearthstone.
>>
>>171292417

so would you prefer more 1 mana 10+/10+. Its a strong card and a game needs to have good cards to survive. A control deck can easily deal with it, it really shines in mid-aggro matchups

Don't get offended that your OC is shit, because it's shit. It's trying to do too many things. Blizz cards are simple and easy to understand - pick one effect and make it less fucking wordy. This isn't Magic. It's like you just picked a bunch of retarded OP effects and slammed them on on a fattie Dragon. Noz does time shit so at least try to keep the time speeding/rewinding theme.. and not just "durr the opponent can literally do nothing but waste his mana while i drop a big health dragon on the board"
>>
>>171292569
how does it kill control exactly you stupid fucking idiot. That would imply it would resurrect control from the jade prison grave and kill it again
>>
>>171292550
>so would you prefer more 1 mana 10+/10+.
Nice strawman here, faggot.
No, what we want is interactivity.
Your card isn't interactive at all. It just repeatedly prevents the opponent from playing anything. It's extremely boring, as well as being overpowered even as a 4/8. There's no counter to it, except aggro. It is by several orders of magnitude a strictly better Loatheb (affects all cards, not just spells, and affects them every turn, and has better stats), while Loatheb is ALREADY a very strong card.

So would it be better to drop the cost back to 5 mana and keep the stats or keep it at 6 mana, but increase health to 6 or 7 instead?

I'm cautious about decreasing mana cost due to the burst combos it enables.

5 mana would allow you to deal 25 damage with Forbidden Ritual if you play her on turn 10 and have an Unlicensed Apothecary on the board already. Doesn't seem like a fringe enough scenario to ignore.

>>
>>171294931
Complete description of the current meta:
https://tempostorm.com/hearthstone/meta-snapshot/standard/2017-03-12

Three tier 1 decks overwhelm the standard ladder:
- pirate warrior, an extremely agressive deck that deals damage quickly enough to consistently win by turn 5
- water rogue, a similar deck that mixes murlocs with pirates
- jade mid-range shaman, another extremely agressive decks that takes a bit longer to win but uses tougher minions and spells through the new jade mechanic

Control decks counter these decks a bit mainly through dragon priest, reno mage and reno handlock, the two last ones with the notable addition of the new Kazakus card, but are HEAVILY countered by jade druid, which in turn is countered by pirate warrior and water rogue.

The result is a rock-paper-scissor meta with very few different viable decks because control is obliterated by jade druid, which is a mediocre deck otherwise. Aggro reigns supreme and hunter and paladin are dead.
>>
>>171295227

pirate warrior, summoning Big Guys (jade/priest) on curve, rogue is good, control cucked by Big Guys.

To quote from earlier in the thread:

Pirate Warrior has losing records against Control Warrior, Reno Mage and Control Shaman. All of these decks get completely destroyed by Jade Druid. Imagine a game of Rock/Paper/Scissors where Paper gently wraps itself around Rock, Scissors can cut a few holes in Paper, but Rock…. Rock just smashes Scissors to pieces and leaves nothing behind. This is the current situation in Hearthstone. We suspect that the only way for the control playstyle to be strong enough is by being given excessively stronger win conditions that can act as a real clock to Jade decks in the future.

how much of a meme would it be to try and fit the finja package into mech mage?
>>
>>171295227.

it would help if you mentioned your rank. Lego cardback isn't that rare since you just need to hit legend once to have it unlocked forever. if you're insinuating that the rank floors made it easier to get legend.. you're retarded. you can shoot up to 5 on winstreaks, not really be a rank 5 player and get stuck there for the rest of the month.. being stuck at 5 doesn't change the fact that with a below 50% win rate (49.9%) it's gonna take on average 900+ matches to hit legend since you can't rely on lucky streaks

Now if there were special seasonal legend card backs you could get a better idea of how many people are hitting legend each month post floors patch. but blizz hates giving away free shit beyond the barest shit to get people to log in once a day/week so that'll never happen

20 minutes into un'goro card reveal and chill and she gives you this look

what look? I can barely see her eyes.
>>

>>
>>171300663
Pirate Warrior is going to be almost completely unaffected by the rotation while Dragon decks reorganize and Reno decks disappear.

If you think you can hit legend in the next four weeks that's what you should play, otherwise any advice you get here will be useless once Un'Goro hits.

But everyone is teching against pirate on high ranks, am I supposed to get to Legend by hoping the opponent doesn't draw his counters while also hoping I don't draw arcanite reaper and Leeroy in opening hand?

Should I really rely on lucking out to Legend?

>am I supposed to get to Legend by hoping the opponent doesn't draw his counters while also hoping I don't draw arcanite reaper and Leeroy in opening hand?

its a fucking card game. you always have to hope you draw the cards you need and your opponent doesn't, no matter what deck you are playing.
on top of that, aggro is actually the most draw consistent archetype in the game because of the low curve and abundance of early game.
>>
>>171301527
play reno nzoth paladin in wild. It's pretty bad but that doesn't really matter in wild.
>>
>>171301332
It's a card game so luck will always be a part of the equation, but why do you think aggro decks even work?

Having a lower curve means you're getting your early game cards more consistently while all those expensive control decks have to hope that they draw their counters against you to not get fucked so the odds are on your side. If you can reliably win 2 out of three games on average you will get to legend eventually if you keep grinding.

How long does the grinding generally take from 5 to Legend?

I got to 5 last week but that was by relying on winstreaks more than anything else

>luck
Luck is a factor but it's largely effected by your own effort.
Half of getting good at magic is knowing EVERY fucking card and the possibility of them running it. As well as the probability of your next card draw being something that could deal with the situation at hand or if you should tough it out with what you've got currently.

>>171302046
It depends on how adaptable you are.
Everyone here likes to say legend is just a grind to make themselves feel better but every single person I know that hits legend consistently has decks that are tuned to deal with aggro and netdecks.

that's not how it works in the business world. investors can see that HS is printing boatloads of money right now. They see absolutely no reason to "waste" money and resources on it if it does great right now anyway. it would just diminish profit..
>>
>>171303649
you need to be ahead of a change that may rek you though and when the consensus becomes that people don't want to spend anymore because of whatever reason you need to start changing

like a good example is probably the fax machine, so we are a company making those and we make profit so let's just continue and then suddenly the fax machine gets replaced and we get totally rekt because we didn't invest into swapping as the fax was becoming obsolete

short term vs long term
on the current path hs definitely has a long term issue but it won't outright vanish obviously

This kind of stuff does need to happen every now and then though, you're taking a calculated risk with every discard which often pays off, but sometimes doesn't. It's what makes the deck fun.
