Anyone else having fun with Faeria? I was ready to ignore it, but after actually putting some time into it I've actually found it to be pretty great. My only gripe is that they're STILL clinging to RNG elements they really shouldn't be.

Then they made all their content significantly easier with P2P

Then they had incredibly easy content and went F2P.

Now they're free to play, with easy content and free level 50 characters for everyone.

They're trying to make back as much money as possible before they kill the servers, and since we all know that giving level 50 characters is not going to save the game on its own we can tell that it's just a bandage at best. Don't waste your time.

So another Anon peaked my interest in Eden Eternal, anyone here played it before? I looked over it because I thought it was generic but I'm nosing through the wiki right now and the class\build variety seems pretty great. There are 6 races and like 20+ classes and each class has a generic passive and a race specific passive.

There's other stuff as well but just as far as character creation goes this is pretty neat. Will post some screenshots when I actually get in-game. If anyone else is curious, wiki here:

NOBODY play this game anymore and for a good fucking reason, the OMEGAinflation pretty much tells you that you will never ever be good enough on it. Is it so high, that some items cost as much as the gold cap your character can ever have, making it so that you will need separate accounts with max gold to ever trade.

This, and is a X-Legends game. You never EVER play X-Legends games, since they are a chinese company fully invested in p2w mechanics; couple it with the typical chinese grind, and you have a recipe for absolute disaster. Go away, don't go near it; don't even click a trailer. Is tainted beyond repair.

Oh, and man, don't waste your time on private servers. They'll die sooner or later, have giant bugs, not repaired enough, and giving everyone 100000% rate items is just not fun at all

Every single X-Legends game plays the same. Aura Kingdom is literally Eden Eternal with better graphics. Twin Saga is THE SAME fucking game with better graphics, but oversimplified combat. The Diablo clone they developed is coming any second now and it have similar mechanics.

First 4 years I prayed that they'd release it in the west, I watched it get engine overhauls, ports to pc, bridge an entire generation of consoles and still nothing. You'll never feel that way 'till around lvl 90-100. That's when the content looks half done; good thing they have been working on the early quests. All the new content on next update is oriented to lvl 40-200, never stopping polishing.

Dungeon titles and rankings look hella boring to me, but some people are excited for it.

There is no personality to your avatar. You may have a fucking dead rat as avatar. You can't roleplay into it. But the biggest one...

You can fucking buy every single card on the game for a price. Where is the fun in it? Is completely discouraging. This, and matches take forever.

Krosmaga on the other hand, oozes with personality; it helps a lot that the universe they are playing with is huge. All cards are animated; it gives it so much life. This is why I'm not bored with it, and why I stopped playing Elder Scrolls Legends and Duelyst for it.

I'll give Faeria another round. It seems like it fixed some stuff I hated about it.

Collecting, growing up your collection by daily play, is half the fun of digital card games. I rather suffer by RNG than having all the tools at my disposal since day 1. It murders a huge part of the game. Why would you ever want gold if you have everything already? No reason to do daily quests at all. I would make me play the game one time a month.

If I had every single card on Krosmaga (maxed with lvl 9 infinites) I would quit and uninstall the same day.

No challenge when most classes just walk around while nuking half the stage. At least you can have fun improvising combos on the fly in Closers.

Grab a 1 minute hp regen elixir from housing, maybe some food like those 60str 20 luck beans. Current star piece event drops rarely weapon power potions if you think it's worth your time (probably not, it drops about every 15 stars). There are also 5 def 5 protection potions as a rare drop from dead end chests in dungeons, especially adv ones. Anniversary should have an event boss rush dungeon which drop both of those potions as their weak long timed variety a lot and if I remember correctly you will see Glas here too. There's also an attack buff on the bard tab. Get beginner enchant scrolls from the easy SMs for defense or max dmg enchants on accessories and everything you are not planning to trade or move to your other guys. Get a master of shields title - 10 def 10 prot. If your account is the newer one, or has uncreated characters, get a bunch of your new guys to lvl50 and get all the pon rewards, and rebirth into a culinary hero for instant catering skill, get both catering and tasting to r1, make some +300 str alcohol caters. It's really easy to overprepare for that fight.

TS has 10 classes. EE has 20+
TS has 15 dungeons. EE has 15 dungeons purely in its 3-man category. It also has 5-man and 8-man dungeons.
TS has no race selection. EE has 5 playable races that impact your stats and certificates.

EE also lets you equip up to 7 certificates to customise how you play, I'm not sure if Twin Saga has that with specialisations I couldn't tell from the wiki alone.

I don't see them as the same games, having this much control over your build is definitely an older trend in MMOs, so I understand if it's not for everyone. So far though I'm having fun and I'm looking forward to developing my character in a specific way, I can't see how I'd do the same with Twin Saga.

Gameplay was meh, UI was meh, but the person-to-person interaction made it shine.

You get a decent amount of free gold and packs for just playing, the nice thing is pretty much no quest requires you to win games. I would say it's more generous than hearthstone but probably less than shadowverse.
Also you get a free trial pandora (similar to arena in hearthstone with addition of a mechanic that shortens games) token that allows you to draft and play until you win or lose 3 times. If you win 3 games you get a full pandora token for free.

Gameplay is very different from regular TCG, duelyst probably gets the closest but is still very much different.
What makes faeria different is:
- You have another layer of strategy with the land placement. It's important what color and where you place the land because certain cards require you to have x of certain colored land.
- Your mana doesn't reset every. At the start of every turn you gain 3 mana and if you don't use it, it carries over to the next turn. There are also 4 mana wells on the play field where your units can gather one mana per turn. This also adds another interesting layer to land placement.

I never really played hardcore ranked but as far as I've heard the top meta game is kind of solved which is pretty much standard with everyone having all information available. I play it mostly casual and from rank 25-10 you meet a lot of different decks. That said the devs don't shy away from changing a bunch of cards if they deem the meta game too stale or dominated by certain cards.

You can get 8 free packs at the moment with the codes KrippFaeria and FaeriaKripp.

It vomits packs onto you pretty liberally for the first dozen hours or so. A good chunk of the solo content is totally free, with the later stuff unlockable via gold. The price is 4500 gold for a set of missions that will give you 4 boosters (priced at 1000 gold a piece) and 600 loose gold. As far as gaining gold goes, you get it for fucking everything. Leveling up, completing missions, completing daily quests, winning matches...the rewards for leveling are usually in the 60 to 90 gold range, winning matches nets you anywhere from 10 to 150 gold, and finishing dailies seems to give between 400 to 600 gold. Also, unrelated to gold, but when you crack a pack, you can choose one rare or rarer card from it and reroll it into a different card of equal or greater rarity, which is nice. Standard disenchant mechanics are present as well.

Gameplay wise, it's fairly good. If you've played Hearthstone, you'll get the basics of interaction, but the game itself borrows some ideas from Magic as well...you can look into the specifics on your own. The main difference lies in the grid, which unlike Duelyst is built by the players turn by turn. This creates a lot of jockeying for territory and position that you don't really get in other similar games.

In terms of balance, every color is represented in the top two tiers, with a couple options for each. There's less than three hundred cards out right now, so it's to be expected there's not a ton of variety yet.

Do you have any blood singers? They're surprisingly good for a common rarity card. Grim guard should be pretty easy to get as well.

If you get flame thrower, you can try to cheese you opponent by just putting it right in front of your hero and shoot across the map.

On a side note, Seifer becomes less useful at higher-skilled matches though. He just gets removed by spell before building up his stat.

In DA there are 4 towns where you can be a citizen.
Mileth is the starter noobtown, but since the game is so old it's pretty dead. Rucesion used to be populated because
the bank there used to be the primary trading hub, but is now also dead.
Tagor is a rangers-only offices (i.e. you can become a citizen, but rangers are GMs appointed by the game owner) and there's no one really ever there.
Hwarone probably has some people but you have to get to the endgame just to get there and become a citizen.

So in other words, the political systems aren't really going to be too appealing.
Also DA got hacked and all the player-made laws got deleted and for some reason they never had backups, so the entire system was pretty much screwed by that. They may have rewritten them by now, I don't know.

Guards and guard captains were executive.
Judges and high judges (I think?) were judicial, but you I think you had to have been a guard captain and a burgess at some point to become one.
Rangers are basically guards with super policing powers because they're game masters.
The problem is you need votes, and people just resort to using alt accounts to vote for themselves. That used to be against the rules, but now there's hardly anyone left playing.

Mercenaries are upgraded using crystals. Those crystals are expensive as fuck.
I got lucky and bought them for 25mil but now they're like 90m each.
Then you also have to buy skill books and shit.

I use Unreal for prototyping (using blueprints) and Unity for actual dev work, since that's what we use at our company. I'm considering Unreal for the MMO but I honestly don't know, it seems like too much for what I want. I wonder how Star Citizen is going to handle.

I know D3 is a dead game but I just started playing Jade Harvester for the first time and holy shit this is the most fun I've ever had in this game
