They are, Fusion as a whole sucks because of all the negatives you have to do to get the fusion monster, that's why xyz is superior, you only need two monsters of the same level, with fusion you need the right materials, the polymerization like card, protection for that fusion and hopefully enough hand advantage to keep that fusion.

Rituals,Fusions, Pendulums and Synchros have all these annoying things you to do that I question why anybody would run decks reliant on those methods. Xyz and Links will be a much easier format to play in.
