I thought she looked alright in preview videos but talking to her in the Tempest, her face just looks fucking bizarre. I actually like her voice, and I think her makeup is fine. It's just the overall shape of her face. Maybe it's poor lighting making it look bad, I don't know, but talking to her on the bridge of the Tempest just put me completely off her.

And it's not even that the character creator is completely incapable of producing attractiveness. Most of the male presets that I played with were easily sculptable into something good, and some of the premade faces I've seen in game (for example, the human female infiltrator in the MP) are actually kind of cute.

Someone deliberately had to make her look bad. A character's one thing, but a character the player is supposed to romance? Come on.

Even Gil looks relatively normal, though I can't endorse his choice of facial hair.

Man, ME:A is great. Only the performance and shit tier character design are destroying the immersion. Already have reached the end of the trial (I rushed the game because only 10 hours and I will start a new game anyway after the game is released).

it's so weird to me that in this game, of all games, the character creator is THIS awful.

ryder is hugely important to the story and you see them all the time up close and make choices for them about who they are, but the personalization options seem like a tacked-on afterthought at best. inquisition, an older game from the same dev and even running on the same engine, had a much better editor.

i mean, it's like they didn't even bother finishing it. i'm not even saying it needs super detailed things like being able to adjust hair waviness in Black Desert. there are extremely standard features missing.

like, you can't even alter the eye or lip shape without changing the entire preset you're working with and starting over. the first fucking Mass Effect game had these features ten goddamn years ago.

I can see why they did it with Shep and Ryder to an extent as well, I mean, Shepard is a military commander/Spectre, it's just a position that kind of demands respect when you talk to them, so calling them by their first name would be a little out of place.

Ryder's basically the same boat, being pathfinder, but giving us the chance to be called by their first name is a nice change, at least for the more casual scenes.

Well, it's mentioned by Tann that there's meant to be a "cross species" ship captained by the Quarians that was meant to come with the initiative, but had technical problems and "wouldn't be arriving for a while" which everyone thinks is going to be DLC, so depending on the timing, they may have just pissed it out of the Milky Way as the invasion started and will be able to tell us about it.

The pre-gold build game sites were playing what, two weeks ago? Was described by some of the sites as so buggy it was actually difficult to play. Hard crashes, audio failing to trigger, conversation paths getting stuck and halting progress until loading from a save, regular below 30fps frame rates, tons of shit.

Exactly how high on a list of bug fixes do you think "Peebee's gun is backwards in a cutscene" is compared to things that made the game unplayable? It's minor shit that you let pass until later when things that actually matter are sorted out.
