As a mid laner, not really. You can play him into Talon or Yasuo or whatever, but Ziggs and Lux still absolutely dumpster him pre-6. He's better as a top because his strengths are more in long skirmishes where you can bleed someone out before bursting them to death.
Lich Bane > Hourglass > Dead Man's > Protobelt > MR Item(Abyssal, Banshee's, etc.)

Lich bane is literally all the damage he needs. Land his ult at long range and then run around in fights being a fucking nuisance, press w whenever your bleed fills up for 500+ damage.

The item is pretty dumb. Its very cheap, gives 100AP, offers a lot of early CDR, adds the burn so it deals with champs who have a lot of sustain and its gives a lot of mana with an easy build path. Athenes got reworked a few seasons ago because every mid laner would rush the item and abuse how cheap and effective it was. I'm surprised Morello hasn't been looked at.

Here's how to make the lane push towards you from level 1. Notice how the lane is not meeting in the middle but slightly near their side?

The lane will push harder if you aggro the casters instead of just the melee, but you will take significantly more damage. Do note that good players will try to prevent you from doing this, because you can farm in bad matchups by doing this. You cannot fight them at level 1 against their minions, so you have to be really sneaky and get to lane first if you try this. It allows you to farm very safely near your tower and the enemy jungle can't gank you.

Because the minion wave is more towards your opponent's tower then their minion wave gets to the fighting before yours. It has to walk less distance! And so they will very slowly push towards you if you just last hit or match your opponent's attacks on minions.

There's a reason for this! Auto attacks are on a way lower cooldown than most abilities. If AD items were as good as AP items then nobody would even build AP items on AP champions and the game would be about whoever has the best steroids to buff their auto attacks.

On that topic, from a jungler that tries not to ruin his top's lane, what should I do in case of killing/forcing to recall enemy top while mine is dead/recalling himself? What's the sweet spot so when he comes back he can freeze the lane at his side? I have no idea how it is. Do I just push to the enemy tower? Leave the wave with an advantage towards either side?

Reminder that Tahm top is not an acceptable top lane tank. Tahm is all single target damage and all of his CC is highly delayed. Tahm is a tanky utility support who allows his ADC to remain extremely safe and plays the map with semi-global teleports which can take a teammate with him.

His ability to duel and farm top lane is not indicative of his quality as a proper tank like Maokai or Poppy.

Okay this is an utter joke. Morello is literally the lone outlier after the AP pass and that's only because bitched at Xypherious hard enough to put some of the AP lost in the Mage rework somewhere. Compared to past seasons Mages have less AP considering Deathcap went from a 2nd/3rd item rush to typically a final capstone item and the across the board reduction to previous big ticket 120 AP items like Zhonyas


Meanwhile AD has gotten absolutely busted items like reworked BC, ER, Maw, EoN, and Duskblade that have had to eat repeated nerfs to even get to a remotely balanced state. This is even reflected in pro play where teams have been running full AD comps without giving a fuck because they'll snowball so hard it won't matter

And honestly, AP items should be more cost effective than AD? Know why? AD can still autoattack and get a considerable amount of damage off outside of their Spell CDs, AP users generally cannot

Unfortunately I'm not the quickest or most prompt artist so a lot of requests have been left by the wayside, trying to change that. Look at your own minion waves on the minimap to see exactly your opponent's minion wave is.
If you can push all the way into tower, do it and ignore whatever your laner says because it's the right thing to do. If you can't push all the way into tower, don't kill any minions because you'll make your laner miss more.

Spell 1 creates a field of Ice that slows people then erupts stunning and damaging enemies
Spell 2 is basically a Pyroblast massive single target nuke albiet it moves super slow and is blockable
Spell 3 is mage chains that echo damage between targets
Spell 4 is a shield that explodes after a while dealing damage
Spell 5 is a super linear shot that bounces off terrain and can be used to snipe people

All of his basic abilities are boring attack modifiers and mediocre buffing tools to compensate for the power budget of his ultimate.

All three of her basic skills can be leveled up to 9 times, she still obviously only has 18 levels and 18 points to rank up with though.
