Hey, guys. Playing vanilla CoP right now.
I have a problem with Streloks stashes. I found the one at the Quarry and have not taken anything the first time around. Later I went back took the stuff out of it, and then out of the one at Jupiter Plant. Now I went to the last one and it's empty.
As far as I can tell the contents are not tied to the location. As in, you always get medical stuff on the first one, regardless which location you go to.
So like I said, I accessed the one at the Quarry twice, and it both times only showed me the medical supplies.
Then I went to Jupiter Plant and that one had the contents of the third stash in it.
I guess the game kinda counted the two accesses to the first stash towards the "progression" of the contents.

Anyways, any chance to get at least the note of the third one through console or something?

The Faction War mod for CS has a feature where you can't loot bodies you haven't killed. If you try to the "owner" goes hostile unless you hand over the stolen loot to him.

This would be perfect in CoC since you can get really far very fast by just stealing loot from other stalkers. There's almost no hobo-phase at all in CoC. The biggest block is just whether or not you find a stash with tools in it. It would force the player to actually get involved in the battle if they want any loot. It would make it harder and in a intuitive and immersive way. You can still steal loot but you would have to kill to "owner" to get it.

I'm on CoM playthrough with things like lootmoney and some other tweaks yet I haven't got enough money yet for a 70k suit, I'm running around with below 50% guns and every hunt/firefight lefts me with maybe 500 to 3000 rubles profit after counting what I lost in ammo used and time, thus food eaten, once you end up using bandages or a medkit, it goes even lower. Why bother with mutants? Get a hold of any rifle in decent condition and go for headshots. Only need one with those. I found an AK in 50% condition and used that to kill off a freedom squad with headshots. Gave me 150+ rounds for it and a lot of other ammo to boot. Sold the loot I got for 15000 and used that to repair the AK. Was a breeze to pop off freedomers from long-distance with 5,45 AP rounds, especially after I bought a scope for about 2.500 ru.

There is some truth to what he says about art direction though. Some guns stick out like a sore thumb because they are obviously in much higher resolution. This is something you just have to deal with when you use weapons by a lot of different modelers and I prefer the high-res versions myself. But you could improve quality if you stuck to just a few modelers that made all of the guns from scratch like a studio would.

I eventually moved over after lots of time with STCoP/OWR. CoM is good, but very different. Suggest playing base CoM to start with as it's got good weapon variety out of the box. STCoM is very good but unnecessary, save it for a later run.

STCoM also doesn't drop as many good weapons as base CoM which will occasionally give you a modern weapon with a few mods already done at 40% condition - not very often, but still nice to have something to save up for repairing.

They're not bad at all. Misery added a ton of guns and OGR makes them much, much better. Rainford did a good job with the distribution and balance, so vanilla CoM is very good as is. STCoM is very good too. The fork is going to use it as the base I think.

I'm sticking with base CoM because modern variants of the AKS-74 (5.45) and AKM (7.62) in 40%+ condition and scope + another random tier 1 upgrade were drops in my current run. Borov dropped a deagle. So I got good shit to repair and I'm happy with that run. My STCoM run has been good too, just not dropping weapons as easily.

It's a really shit game that was fun to play with some /sg/ people a few years back.

And when I say shit, I mean fucking horrible.
Mutant pathing is non-existent, they just run to you in a straight line (faster the more dangerous they're supposed to be) and then stand in front of you, spasming occasionally to deal damage.
NPCs with rifles have no proper animations, you just take damage if you're in their range automatically (luckily these are mostly seen as guards in neutral areas).
Mutants take a metric fuck ton of abuse and one-two shot you; the infamous russian red bear in map 2(3?) takes about 100+ 5.56 to the head before dropping dead.
Artifact hunting consists of standing near an anomaly and doing a shoddy simon-says mini-game on your numpad.
P2W as FUCK. A p2w hoodie has more armor than a military helmet, p2w weapons are straight upgrades.

The only redeemable parts was the fact that it had a STALKER-ish atmosphere (but not really since it looked like absolute dogshit) and you were forced to go on long mutant/artifact hunts where you could lose your shit to random bandits if not careful (and of course the bandits would outgun you by a mile if they were cash-shop warriors).
There was also a lot to explore, and it was a pretty hard game (unless, again, you p2w). I have fond memories of exploring the Antarctica(?) map with the dude in the picture, trying hard to stave off infinitely respawning one-shot wolves that pseudo-teleport up to you due to bad latency.

It was bad, incredibly bad in fact, but the sandboxy elements and STALKER parts made it bearable. Also the chill community we had (in Cheeki_Breeki and later Cheeseburger_America, other clans were 9/11 times fucking shitheads).

The SRP+AO merge is good for a first run. It addresses the major problems of CS pretty directly: bugs and weak gunplay. Also merges in an excellent weather mod that's a good change from using Atmosfear (which is great, but all too common).

The only major change from vanilla is that it prefills all stashes so if you find a stash, it's already got stuff in it. More CoP than CS. This blows up the economy and progression - CS gated the OP stashes behind expensive purchases of information, but you can find a G3/SG1 just lying around now where it used to cost 40K RU to buy that stash. So just play it as a straight up shooter rather than any kind of stalker scrounging experience.

It's a good merge, ignore the autistic detail of that last para. I did my first complete playthrough with it.

Yes, it does exactly that. Shotguns are close up weapons though, not long distance killers.

OWR does all of its damage balancing through ammo. Two guns of the same caliber will do the same damage. So if you want to boost shotguns, bump the damage done by buckshot and all shotguns will benefit.

You could edit trader files to be less jewey, but you're kind of missing the point of Misery, and 10k really is nothing. You can make that off a few mutant parts.

then you can adjust your hud positioning by changing
aim_hud_offset_pos_16x9 = -0.114000,0.045250,-0.050000

the last number ,-0.050000
is how far in or out your weapon is at. (lower number is closer to you)
with those 2 things you can probably find a nice spot that is still accurate.

Is this how it's supposed to look like? Using CoM with OA and STCoM and some outfit upgrades don't have any percentage in it. Once I applied this one I didn't saw any difference in the bars below, nor can you even see it applied once you hover over the outfit, like you can see the weight upgrade.

It's definitely a problem since I have some repair items that should work but don't (like >60% outfit repair when my outfit is almost perfect condition)

No idea how it works in CoM, but in CoC goodwill gives you discounts when buying from traders. You can easily check how it works in CoM by checking the trader files, there should be a part with "discounts".
And donating weapons doesn't make them like you more.

Playing SoC after playing CoP and a bit of CoC. Weird experience, the sort of play the games encourage feels totally different. Starting CoP rather well equipped, finding Skadovsk, and then slowly exploring farther out while mostly just fighting mutants is very different than "here's a pistol, go murder your way through respawning hordes of bandits" and tossing weapons away as they wear down. I guess the centralized anomalies in CoP are a little more video-gamey feeling, but they're more memorable and make artifacts feel special instead of picking up a stone blood on every hillside. Artifacts feel more worth it in CoP too. I've only gotten to Agroprom underground but I'm not enjoying this one as much so far.
