Or I'm missing some crucial part of it that was never explained, because peoples attacks CONSTANTLY smack me through block/parry or I can't switch the block direction fast enough.

I also can't find a character that I'm any good at. I wanted to play THE LAW but its underpowered and given how everything seems to go through block its completely unviable.

It doesn't help that I"m used to using the movement direction to determine block direction like in mount & blade. I was able to bind W A and D to block directions but there doesn't seem to be an option to stop the mouse from changing the block direction at the same time, which fucks shit up badly.

The faction that wins a round gets 3 scavenger crates, 2nd place gets 2 and third place gets 1, Scavenger crates get you loot, such as armor or weapons, which you can then convert to salvage for upgrading any other weapon/armor piece, allowing you to overall upgrade your character, thus making your character more powerful, resulting in you killing more people, winning more games and getting more War Assets to partake in the Faction War.

It's its own little circle of fuckery that involves you winning and getting loot.

Revengeless or at least gearless FFA wouldn't be too bad. Vanilla Revenge takes forever in 2v1.
Pairing up or picking off the weaker opponent would be a lot more common.

Depends if there are ledges in a KOTH game mode or if it would just be one of the houses from Citadel for instance. Trap spam would be unbearable though.

Dodge his Demon's Embrace, it's a slow grab attack that is unblockable, but as another shugoki or any person who can dodge it isn't a problem and takes a chunk of his health without you hitting him.
But if it hits it leeches health from you and gives it to him, it also can 1 hit kill if he has low health, it also regenerates 70% or so of his health.
His attacks are slow so I find them easy to parry, if you learn his attack anims you can know what direction he may attack from long before it hits, without the indicator, He has a passive ability that refreshes frequently as long as he has stamina where he ignores staggering from one hit and takes reduced damage from that one hit, Your best bet is either to gank him, throw him off a ledge, or parry and dodge.

Play super passive until his armor is gone, the best way to remove it is by guardbreaking, even if he counters it his armor is gone.

They will be looking for that though and will just smack you out of your GB with a light, so you gotta be patient. If he's throwing out lights all willy nilly trying to predict when you will GB, try to parry. Don't just randomly swing, he will just GB you through your attack thanks to armor, throw you into a wall and get 2 bars back.

As for countering the 50/50 charge/GB unlock bullshit, I find it's really inconsistent. You can either roll out or try to GB him out of his charge for a punish.

There's this weird extension of Zerker's head crusher move where he sprints forward with his arms tucked in, and then jumps for his hit. It's really weird because I haven't been able to pull it off, only seen it once.
Am I fucking crazy? No moveset video or guide mentions it, only YouTube comments sometimes claiming the slashing rush in the video (the reverse zone attack) isn't the true slashing rush. This leads me to believe that slashing rush is this rare shit I can't pull off again.

Even if they just know how to gank and revenge spam they'll have a better understanding of the character by pure hours spent over your usual low rep player.

I'm the same way about gearscore though, I don't notice at all unless I see that yellow 108. Since I know matchmaking at least attempts to group based on MMR though I'm still wary until I've actually fought each player to make judgement though.

I've had heroes without a Rep able to beat me 1v1 consistently and Rep 5 characters that never change attack direction. You really never know until you fight them.

Thing with Valk is to stay calm. Block their second hit if you can. If they shield bash you keep your fingers on GB and Dodge button. If they grab, Tech it if they sweep, see which direction is coming from and dodge towards it. You basically get a GB if you manage to dodge it. Some valks would hit you with a light after shield bash, but that means they'll always follow it up with a sweep so just wait a second and dodge.

Most of them suck cause they only play 4v4 anyways so it's not like you're gonna get completely outmatched.
Either avoid trying to 1v2 them or learn how to exploit the gangbang when the guy isn't looking at you.
If you guardbreak them there's a 95% chance it will work, most people can't GBC when outnumbered.

Just because during closed beta and alpha people didn't progress that far doesn't mean internal tests didn't account for late game gear.
During internal tests they test the game at all possible states of progression to see if something is exploitable.
The only issue is that a developer's idea of balance is different than a player's, and they're much less likely to care about max gear shitting on noobs or predict something like a player meta revolving around a single style of character build.

He's extremely strong in team fights.
Having access to an unblockable outside of chain and 2 forms of knockdown alongside his long forward throw make him a nightmare to face in 1v2.
Demon's Embrace is what really makes him crazy though. He hold's you up in the air for 2 seconds and then knocks you down all while teammates can wail on you with heavy attacks, and if he's critcally wounded (<1 bar of health) he'll 1 shot you with the grab and heal almost fully.

If you study the startup animations you can usually tell when he is going to hit long before the indicator, He is relatively easy to parry with his heavy attacks, Another shugoki with his passive up or really anyone capable of dodging and spacing can counter Demon's Embrace and its a chunk of his health gone without you even hitting him.

Any tips as PK VS Valk?

First, im not a great player I play pretty casually but this is the hardest matchup for me.

I just feel like all of valks stuff is too fast for me to react and I cant get in close enough to be offensive. If its a bad valk fine I can leap in but its so easily blocked/parried if they are keeping space and expecting it. The light-light-sweep-heavy is almost half my hp so theres like no room for error.

Any tips?

Yup. Max inventory is 60 though so you'd have to keep on top of purging that inventory.

You can do that anyways whenever you want. Just unequip all your gear, and then hold X on the customization screen to clear all appearance changes.
You'll go back to looking like a teal and white wearing scrub.
