Wasn't how that originally was back in InDev? Didn't you have to throw ore blocks on the ground then ignite them with flint and steel to get ingots?

Also there are a few mods that do similar stuff. I don't know which, but one my tech mods has you throwing materials on the ground and right clicking the item entity with a hammer to smash it to dust.

Agricraft is a mod where you can breed plant seeds to reproduce crops without needing to replant the seeds. As you breed seeds, their growth rate and crop yield stats increase, allowing for more crops per harvest, and less time between harvests. Also, crossbreeding plants can result in new seeds for different crops.

Eventually, you can crossbreed seeds that actually yield resources like iron, redstone, and yes, diamond. But you need to have Pam's harvestcraft installed first.
>>
>>171065762
Yes, yes, I know Agricraft. But I don't know anything about growing it on top of the ore block.
>>
>>171065762
>Need to have pams
No you dont
>>
>>171064875
put agricraft in the nei bar and start pressing r on all the seeds
>>
>>171065889
Oh. you can't plant on the ore directly. the ore needs to be the block under the farmland on which the seed is planted. so, from bottom to top, it goes ore->farmland->cropsticks/plant.

Is this enough to stabilize moderate infusions?

I think there's 178 items at total
>>
>>171067889
more than enough for anything ever
>>
>>171067889
Your stabilizers don't look balanced. Which instead of helping would actually make it worse. I think you have enough raw stabilizers to stabilize even the most dangerous primal infusions but with your unbalanced setup a lot of that is counteracting itself, you still could probably do high or dangerous infusions no problem as is. Those air clusters on the floor were probably enough to stabilize moderate infusions all by their selves.
>>
>>171068670
You mean symmetrically? Because I'm pretty sure it's symmetric. If not, I thought you could use any stabilizing item without worring about balance.

>>171068759
The infusers have to be symmetrical.
Where each corner quadrant reflects eachover.
The yellow box represents a quadrant, while red, green and blue are stabilizer blocks. So if you were to rotate your entire altar and it's stabilizers by 90*, it would look exactly the same.
>>
>>171069314
Can't I just use one of the same type then? And that doesn't matter att for heads, right?
>>
>>171069386
As I remember it has to be the exact same. So a red cluster is different from a blue cluster, and a zombie head is different from a creeper head and so on. If you were lazy you could use just one specific infuser as all of the blocks, I remember seeing people flood a basement with only wither skulls because they are one of the strongest and cheapest* to obtain infusers. If you have witching gadget's infuser calculator or whatever it's called it will tell you how strong your collective total of stabilizers is and where unbalanced/symmetrical elements are in it.
>>
>>171069757
Thanks for all the info, I'm gonna fill it with enderman heads since I have a spawner of them.

>>

>As I remember it has to be the exact same. So a red cluster is different from a blue cluster, and a zombie head is different from a creeper head and so on
Nope. So long as it implements IInfusionStabiliser or whatever it is, all stabilisers (crystals/skulls/TC+addon blocks/etc) are treated as the same.
The important bit is whether a matching stabiliser exists in the rotated symmetrical position

>most cancerous modding community
Hardly. It's definitely not in any top ten, but it's very far from the worst modding community in history.

>>171040619
Not exactly correct - you still can't compile a Linux kernel without GCC, and most of those "GNU-less" distros still rely heavily on GCC. Clang is being adopted, but it's not a fast process by any means.

>>171040978
On the other hand, this is why many modders eventually give up. For example, OpenComputers and ComputerCraft both died (or slowed down massively) because their authors found actual jobs. Were they able to make a living from modding (dan200 clearly tried, between that and (not good enough) sales of his puzzle game Redirection - all ComputerCraft updates since 1.8 were effectively sponsored by one education company or another), things might've been different.

>>171041172
Again, factually incorrect. Almost all modders in the western community use CurseForge and almost all modders in the western community accept donations, but there's still (very) few who refuse to do either; in addition, there's the eastern communities.

Hold up sir, your post is a tad confusing. Are you suggesting that the infusion logic is only concerned whether a block object implements that interface or not and that the process is agnostic towards any other attributes that object instance may contain? Meaning you can use any infusion block or variation of said block anywhere around your infusion altar so long as the collection of infusion blocks are symmetrical? So i could have an infusion setup like pic related, where each color is an entirely different block, for example blue is skulls, red is crystals, green is candles. Or did you mean that each type of the same block is treated the same, which for example in pic related would all be say crystal clusters where each color represents a different color type of crystal cluster, red = red, blue = blue. That one almost makes sense, however I've experienced before with >botania flowers that their different colored flowers didn't appear interchangeable with each over, with in that case my arcane abacus had pointed out.
>>
>>171058394
Ill gladly join if its not too laggy. Wheres the server hosted?
>>
>>171074913
>first part
Yep. Skulls/crystals/candles/certain TBases blocks are all interchangeable as stabilisers. The only thing that matters is whether it has a partner stabiliser (any) at its opposing symmetrical position
>2nd part
Crystals of different colours make no impact. They're all the same blockID anyway, just different damage/meta values.
>botania flowers
For memory, only (floating) glimmering flowers/glowing mushrooms were valid as stabilisers. But colour/meta differences should be same as above

Hope for more apples from trees, sift dirt asap (make some kind of shears, you get more leaf blocks per tree than you do per chance of sapling, meaning more dirt sooner).

>Platform with your first two trees worth of wood
>Make crook to get more saplings/get silkworms
>Make a barrel to turn saplings into dirt
>Plant two trees away from each other, infest one of the tree's leaves (to get string when completely infested)
>Use string to make sieve
At this point, you should be able to get some seeds to plant on dirt you're making from the barrels.
With enough Pebbles, you can make cobblestone/stone hammers
Stone hammers pulverize cobble into Gravel.
Gravel can be sieved to get ore gravel.

Thermal Dynamics/Expansion, Minefactory, Industrialcraft, EnderIO, Redstone Arsenal, Buildcraft and Railcraft. Any of these mods a shit? I have no clue why I installed most of them for my server for my friends and I. Complexity addiction, probably. I just don't know what these contribute and if any of them are worthwhile.

Are there any other mods worth using besides TCon that I'm missing? I'm really liking the idea of tech and magic existing alongside one another so I have Witchery, Botania, Thaumcraft and a few derivatives of it installed already.

Redstone Arsenal is pretty shitty. Look into Techguns for pewpews.

Minefactory, Industrialcraft and Buildcraft have a fair amount of overlap. Consider keeping one and ditching the others.

Also the best part about Thaumcraft on 1.7.10 is the addons. Don't ignore those.

Also also TiCon is garbage. Ditch it.

Only reason I did it was it's by the same people as Thermal Dynamics and shit. Are those worth keeping around or is the whole mod set garbage? Minefactory is part of that family as well
>Minefactory, IC2 and Buildcraft
Of the three, I've only used IC2 for more than five minutes. I like the idea of being able to fabricate stuff out of pure energy, but it annoys me that IC2 uses it's own snowflake energy units instead of RF like just about all my other mods do. I do like the jetpack and the high tech armor and weapons. I haven't looked at the other two too terribly much. If you wouldn't mind, could you summarize the other two so I don't need to crawl the wikis?
>Thaumcraft
Already have blood magic and sanguimancy. Anything else important I missed from this setup?
>TiCon Garbage
Why is that? I haven't meddled with it very much.
>>
>>171144219
You can get jet packs and weapons and shit with mods that use RF.

IC2 is a dinosaur. Don't bother with it.
>>
>>171143649
Redstone Arsenal is powered tools like pickaxe and stuff, it has a bow too but it's not its focus.
MFR, IC2 and BC have actually no overlap at all.
>>
>>171144219
Buildcraft has no overlap with either of them, it's literally only pipes and a few automation things.
It's not comparable to other tech mods and needs something like ic2 to actually make it have point.
Immersive engineering, power converters, and mekanism all allow conversion between EU and RF.

MFR is a mod for people who don't want to autism and just want one block to do everything automatically for them.
It's all the bad qualities of thermal expansion x 100.

>>171145245
>ic2 is a dinosaur

>>
>>171144219
>>171145431
Redstone Arsenal is just magitech versions of stuff in TC, Blood Magic and Botania. I just think the stuff it has sticks out like a sore thumb in any LP I see it in.

I'm probably misremembering the MFR, IC2 and BC overlap. Ignore me on that.

Also Blood Magic isn't related to TC, it and Sanguimancy are their own thing. Thaumcraft 4 does have a bunch of addons that other versions of TC don't use so definitely look into Automagy, Forbidden Magic (actually DOES make Thaumcraft and Blood Magic overlap), Thaumic Horizons and Thaumic Bases (see OP for better version).
>>
Is there a JOhnsmith patch for Terrafirmacraft?
The textures for vanilla are, honest to god, fucking eye rape.
>>
>>171146248
What sticks out the most in Redstone Arsenal for me is how fucking useless the mod is. Its tools require quite a bit to make and they have interesting properties (the pickaxe can mine a 3x1 column when empowered for example), but in even a slightly kitchen sink-ish scenario everything in that mod is completely useless. There usually are at least 5 other options for better or more durable tools no matter which pack you're using.
>>
How do I progress in TC? I already researched everything I could and even now there's still some stuff locked in most tabs.

TE isn't necessarily bad, it's kind of good for an introduction to baser mechanics because IC2 is a bit more complex than it used to be, but it's not really got any depth to, period.

It's just too simple, one of the reasons why is to mitigate lag, but people who tend to have lag problems cram all their shit into one chunk, which increases lag.
And with the way TE is designed, it makes people do this more, so it doesn't even help with lag.

People who heavily depend on it tend to be pretty big shitters.
>>
>>171147469
I'm probably going to end up cutting all the mods from TeamCOFH then. None of them seem to do much good. I can at least understand it, but I'm not going to install something that doesn't really go anywhere useful.

Any other good mods that use RF that I'm missing? Extra Utilities I almost wouldn't count since it doesn't feature it heavily, just the generators. I'm using it for other reasons.

Also, nobody's answered why Tinker's Construct is bad. Is it similar to TE and all that since it's just a bunch of new materials for tools and shit without any depth?
>>
>>171148690
CoFHcore is necessary, the others aren't.

As for other rf based mods.
>Immersive engineering is somewhat interesting for aesthetic purposes.
>Techguns is an actually entertaining way of adding guns.
>logistics pipes, a buildcraft addon, which isn't really rf based but can use rf, is a really entertaining way of doing storage management and automation, best paired with something like storage drawers.

Tinker's isn't bad unless you use extratic because extratic is bloated as all hell and terribly balanced.
There's just one faggot who really hates it because it makes vanilla style tools redundant, which is the entire point.
For some reason it's overpowered to him but quarries are not.
It doesn't have a lot of depth but it doesn't try to do a lot like te does either.

It IS overused as hell, however, so a lot of people are tired of it.
>>
>>171146990
>Powered Tools

I'm not particularly interested in aethestics (yet) or guns. Logistics pipes sounds like something I can add later with minimal effort if I ever need that sort of thing. I remember I saw in some Agrarian Skies video there was some storage matrix shit that was complex as all hell but had everything sorted and organized. From trying it after being a staunch "EU is stupid" standpoint, they do overlap for Quick furnaces and ore dublin. But thats pretty much it.
TE has more QoL items like Colorable Lamps, the plates, integration with nearly everything in one way or another.

However, ICY does not have simple recipes, which is a con for me and a pro for some, unless you get uncomplication.

Is modular forcefields supposed to be useless?
I'm trying ICBM classic along with it (1.7.10) and the missile explosions just pass right through it, doesn't matter if it's a conventional missile or a nuke. The field itself is completely indestructible but it doesn't stop the explosions so if your structure is close to the border inside it you're fucked.
I don't know if my memory is fucked but I remember them protecting the blocks inside pretty well even from nukes and such, and that they could be destroyed by conventional means like regular blocks but regenerated over time depending on the speed module

Me and my friend started a minecraft server.

r8 our base. We built in a mining dimension because it was flat and everything was stone. The dirt areas are filled in quarries. Various machines and chests are in the middle but we're using a ME network now (not applied energetics 2).

I always preferred those two over Thaumcraft. Thaumcraft is neat, but having to slog through the same progression every single time is just a chore. there is a specific server log you can check which reveals IP or at least DNS information when the session is created.
its in latest.log. control+F for 'User Authenticator' or 'UUID of player', address information should follow.
from there you can either banip which I have doubts works correctly in mineycrafty. to be doubly sure you add a firewall rule denying any and all traffic from that IP address.

if you wanna make super sure look up the IP range of his ISP and deny all traffic from that range.

You may be getting "vibes" because it has light rays as a "power", i guess

>>171211480

Since they all seem to be built from the same blueprint, what mod/version?
>>
>>171212241

Also...

>rare spawning structures that you are required to find in order to even progress
>>
>>171213658

It's better when structures spawn uncommonly/rarely, than them spawning everywhere.
>>
>>171214140
Clusters.

Like clone biomes and have them occupy the same spawn slot, but with a bias.

So you'd have regular Plains 75% of the time, but then you'd have 'Village' Plains (With slightly more flatness) the other 25% that would have a bunch of structures and whatnot.
>>
>>171212241
I'm not that far into it yet
>have to go around the world looking for notes and sticking them in a book to progress
I figured it just opens up more at some arbitrary points and papers are for something later? I have like 4 different and they don't add recipes or anything of note at all, just some "constellations" i don't care about yet
>crafting requires using a wand on a specific crafting table
That's TC3 thing. I'm sure both use that as an inspiration

Still though, i can't say it feels similar for me. Yet, maybe

oh is dat sum expert meme?

as for AE2 plates, I personally would be a lazy cunt and do iron block + (silicon, gold, quartz, or diamond) = (press plate respective to item used)
so silicon + iron block makes the silicon press plate.
From there apply it to whatever you want. you could exert maximum effort and just make it a shapeless recipe, ezpz.
>>
>>171228890
I like that idea a lot. Not going to totally lazy it with shapeless but the block of iron + material on the Buildcraft assembly table so the plate has to be cut by the laser.

The research tab in the original was scattered all over the place and looked shitty. Some Anon went in and straightened everything out and deleted a few things that were glitchy (entity deconstructor specifically and a few other things that the modder never fully implemented).

Trust me. Just use the fork. If you don't think it's any good, just delete it and install the regular version. The item IDs are the same so it shouldn't be an issue.

Alright, decided to redownload the game for the first time in years to play with some friends.
Worked fine for a couple days, but starting yesterday, no matter what I do, I get a "java has stopped working error" right after loading into a world.
Done all the google recommended stuff, reinstalled the game, reinstalled Java, drivers all up to date, deleted the minecraft bin file and let it redownload. Even did a system restore to when it was working.
Any ideas what's going on with Java?
I've honestly probably spend more energy than Minecraft is worth, but at this point I kind of would like to know what's going on for the sake of curiosity.

So, I've never actually played Minecraft before but I thought I'd give it a try since I'm bored and have nothing else to do today. Went on piratebay and got a torrent for 1.9.0. Someone in the comments was swearing up and down that it had ransomware on it though, and now that I google it apparently there's some other sites saying that it's possible (though not confirmed) that the user Teamextreme's crack actually is responsible for some ransomware a lot of people accidentally downloaded.

I've got the torrent paused at 88.4%. Should I stop the torrent and delete all files? Is there a confirmed safe torrent out there? Wat do?
>>

I have no idea about safe torrents for it, but I can say that your first mistake is going for 1.9.0 if you want proper mod support. The best later versions for mod support are 1.7.10, 1.10.2, and 1.6.4.
>>
>>171286319

neptunepink quit modding immediately after releasing a 1.8.9 port. Some of its features (barrels, portable crafting tables) are available in Charset as improved ports - if you're interested in any features in particular, ask ahead for 1.11.2.
>>
>>171286773
>>171286782
Well, fuck. I'm looking at one of those websites I mentioned, so far I'm not seeing any of the files or folders that they mentioned showed up in the incidents. Another site is claiming that the Teamextreme is clean though, and that the malware torrents were actually put up by people posing as them a little after piratebay came back from being down and no mods were around.

I'm already at 88% and not seeing those folders. Should I just finish and then look for the folders to see if it's true, then delete the folders and everything else downloaded by the torrent?

And I honestly don't care about mods at the moment. Right now I just felt like giving the base game a try since I've never played it despite all the hub-bub about it, positive and negative.

I didn't use it too much since I've mostly been function over design back in 1.7.10 playthroughs, but Nuclear Control is really fucking nice for having integrated controls and displays for the supported mods. Basically, it's good if you want comfy industrial controls and alarms for reactors without bothering with Computercraft/Open Computers or if you want stuff that you can integrate more seamlessly into an industrial base.
>>171286851
Good point. I've mostly overlooked Factorization due to its features being taken and improved in other mods, Charset being one of them. I guess mainly what made me remember Factorization in this case past those features was the power gen. In particular, the mirrors for the solar boiler. Plus those colossus were a pretty neat concept. It's just a shame that they never seemed to work right.

Lately I've been going back into early 1.7.10 packs as well as 1.6.4 and earlier packs/mod lists and looking at mods that didn't make it into later versions. It's pretty neat seeing how features in major mods developed over time and how popular features from dead mods have been adapted and spread from their original mods.

Greetings /mcg/. I haven't played since 1.2.5 and I'm looking to play again. However I've noticed the thaumic duplicator is gone from the latest iterations of TC and I'm stumped. Establishing a system involving the thing is basically my endgame.

>>

There's a possibility that someone else is rehosting the TeamExtreme version and is attaching something nasty to it. Due to the volatility of torrents nowadays, it is really tough to trust nonlegit ones, especially since anyone can just say that the torrent is infected in an attempt to fool interested users.

Which setting make them spawn rarely, about average 1 every few days, and at least 3 chunks away? Which setting controls their aggression range? Which setting prevents them from getting into your base and kill camp you? Which setting makes then not no drop good loot after turning done their stats to normal zombie/skeleton levels? I can go on about the bullshit balance.

Welp, looks like the test case worked pretty easily. The annoying part is investigating the block names and texture paths, but past that it's pretty damn easy to implement. Shame that the auto-generated texture is a little wonky. But it's still better than what I expected for a generated Dense Certus texture.

Why do people use toy operating systems then throw a big fit when professional developers don't support them?
>>

>toy operating systems
Linux isn't PonyOS, mate.
>>
>>171322654
When used on a desktop computer it's a toy because nothing works without hours of configs and recompiling. That's not a professional OS, that's a hobby project.
>>

That's false and you know it.
>>
>>171322956
It's 100% true and you know it. Nobody who uses Linux uses it right out of the box with no issues. It breaks from everything, even regular updates.
>>
>>171323036
Wrong. You just have to buy a piece of hardware common in Linux developer circles, which most likely means a ThinkPad. I ran Linux on multiple ThinkPads and it just works on all of them, bar the odd issue with the dedicated GPU.

Linux is not your typical consumer OS, it is not meant to be a user friendly jack of all trades. It is however, largely modifiable and can be shaped to fill many specialized tasks that a bulky full sized OS like windows would be inappropriate for. You use it a corporate level for custom machines that fulfill your companies needs.

I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called Linux distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux!
>>
>>171322303
Sadly that command's not really working in 1.10.2, but thankfully I remembered The One Probe. That's fucking Based for this. It gives all of the information I need for messing around.
Basically making a small/medium-sized pack where quarrying methods are disabled and caving/exploration are encouraged, so dense ores become a pretty viable balancing point for endgame mod recipes if I use mods with extreme recipes. Granted, I can never say that it's truly balanced unless I find out how to make a clay pick that only works on dense ores.

yeah MFFS looks much more refined and well made but in practice it's the opposite. You can punch holes in these warpdrive shields and if you're fast get a second missile inside it before it regenerates, it's very fun. Only problem is trying to shoot an EMP at them crashes the game. It's alright, though since the EMP doesn't work on MFFS either.

>Space stations can make warp drive to other galaxies and planets
>Multiplayer based features like a cannon that shoots items from anywhere in any dimension to another.
Sadly unless 2 factions build their ships in the same station they cant meet but they can meet inside planets, plus the fact that all ships are free multiblock structures you can make unique space ships.

Bricks look like they can fit into your piece but I think you'd have to use them much more sparingly as contrasts and highlights only. Maybe replace all but the stair ones with something else. Or nix the entire thing there and use them as highlights for the walls, like replace the stone bricks below the part that expands with the upside down stairs.

When building, you have so many different options to try like styles, themes and such that makes it less repetitive. Way more than in comparison on playing tech mods or magic mods.

will there ever be a new anarchy server like 2b2t or will we need to wait for a new game as iconic as minecraft but not invested by 12 year olds yet, (even though this game wil never exist because you'd need a game where you could build and destroy stuff, handle enough players and keep your world intact no matter how many updates ther'll be or how big this world will get without it just being forgotten as just another minecraft knockoff)
>>
>>171416667
I just want a good 2b2t clone with mods
>>
>>171416781
why do you wan't mods, it will never last as long because mods may not get updated and saves may get corrupted
>>

>a good 2b2t clone with mods
What would that look like exactly?

Because it sounds like literally cancer.
>>
>>171418662
Maybe his idea is not that bad...
You just add Techguns and recreational nukes and you have an ancap based 2b2t serb.

>>
>love skyfactory inironically

what makes having mods that much more or less likely to have lag machines when vanilla provides just as many avenues for lag machines?
Just look at doors for the easiest example. Then burning out redstone torches, some kind of water fountain supplied by a piston.

What's with every major modpack creator and removing all the fun out of the mods they use?
>>
>>171422251
They remove anything and everything that "detracts from their vision."
Play by their rules or not at all.
>>
>>171422635
It was nice to see it backfired with Beyond on leddit.
>>
>>171422718
Once in a while, yeah. But not often.
It depends on how much they cut/how severe what they've done is.
>>
>>171422635
Mine/ModTweaker aside, is that not the case with mods as well? you only get so much of the content someone wants to develop, delivered in a way they see fit.
>>
>>171422251
>trash can
>fun

when I played blightfall I just cheated it in
you can also do it the vanilla way by placing down lava and dropping your stuff in there
>>
>>171423376
It's a fine line, really. Some people also criticize mod-makers for some of their choices, but nowhere near as often. Complaints more commonly fall on the Pack-makers because they're stripping down mods and packaging them instead of just packaging them. Which raises issues of "Is it still a part of the mod-maker's vision to have been altered this way?" and "Is it still fun?" and "Why did you remove (thing)?"
It's a weird topic, really.
>>
>>171422902
This time they fucked up pretty big
>Gate Psi machine to make everything in the mod by needing 2 kill the dragon twice and the wither like 3 or 5 times.
Even tho its Vazkii, its retarded the grudge they are having against its mods

They also even same material recipes give different crafts, example of this is shapeless cotton makes 1 string, the same amount of cotton shaped gives 2 string.
I have never seen a failure so big on a modpack that even ledditors got mad at it.
>>171423376
Its different in the sense that mod making is not the same as modpack making, Mods are the options for enhancing your game, you cant ask a modder why he didnt make his mod x based or with x feature, you simply find another mod which has said feature you want.
But premade modpacks limit said options on what the author considers fun and not what you, and also on what the author considers what people want to generally play. Thats why most premade modpacks are similar kitchen sinks but changing recipes on what the author considers good, fun, bad, boring, balanced, etc.

Making your(e) own modpack is adviced in here so you choose your own options and not get others to pick them for you even if you like it or not.

the caution stripe wall and the ceiling are overkill. its just too much going on.

take the flat rusty block on the right and apply it to the stripey wall.
replace ceiling with something that will compliment the floor. you have a high ceiling so you can make it as dark as you like, but it should be a complimentary colour and texture to the floor.
if you want to stay with technical block / factory blocks use Black Wireframe from Factory blocks for the ceiling

additionally:
- the brain likes symmetry. copy the fan to the other side.
- you can create "tiles" in the walls to break up the monotony of the rusty brown blocks. use that other plated rust block the turrets are sitting on as the contrast block. just like, make pillars a set distance apart from each other, should work.
- make your CTM finish at the ceiling instead of disappear up into nowhere. it makes the ceiling seem like its 'floating' to me anyways, YMMV

>>
>>171425178
You have to kill the wither more than 15 times since you need to use wither stars in the ender crystals recipe, and with the ender crystals needed to resurrect the dragon everytime. FTB Beyond is a mistake.

sadly the Matter Overdrive weapons are outclassed by everything in TechGuns. It's a shame because the projectiles look better, have better hit effects and are much faster. They also don't have that "linger" problem the techguns have.

what do you mean? isn't zombie awareness only for zombies? I don't see how using ZA with GOG would change anything.
>>
oh by the way thread is dead
>>
>>171433883

ZA adds all compatible mobs to a config where they can be set to true to accept the programming.

GOG mobs will not lose their attacks and specials, so a shaman will still fire magic and summon, an arrow mob will still fire arrows, etc.

I believe ZA will change their pathfinding, movement, and sounds related to detection of the player (which is a-ok in terms of not always getting your ass beat randomly).

There are other setting needing tinkering for balance, like sounds and zombie swarming values, etc.
>>
>>171433608
Matter Overdrive animations are too clunky, aiming and shooting feels like they are being held by a malfunctioning robot, the aiming and shooting animation feel robotic but at the same time they feel like the characters gonna throw the rifle.

tbf this attitude is cultivated by the community, too. used to just be modders held up as gods for knowing the mystical art of programming, now you have this class of "modpack-developers" who are hot shit for throwing mods together and maybe, if they're really daring, editing some recipes or config files.
