I liked it. Sophie's a qt.

If you've never played an Atelier, you'll probably like it. IIRC, most people had an issue with how much the gameplay was simplified in comparison to other trilogies, the main change being no time limit.

But, as with all the other Ateliers, the characters are fun, and the OST is nice. Story isn't that great, but it's kinda there? Crafting is good.

Might be a good idea to wait for a sale.

What part didn't you like? A lot of Sophie's shortcomings were (kind of) amended in Firis.

I'll agree that Sophie dropped the ball in a lot of places, but the crafting which is a huge part of the game really stood out.

I don't even like the crafting in sophie. I mean the tetris minigame or whatever it was is a good idea but they reduced the overall amount of traits, put a limit of 3 traits per item instead of 4 and removed the cost system from the rorona+ which gave the whole crafting a more interesting spin in my opinion. Even if you prefer the crafting in sophie everything else was a major let down compared to the older games in the series.

For example characters felt really flat and uninteresting, I think there was maybe 1 event where more than 1 of your party member spoke to other other party members and that's when you take them out of town for the first time. Them not having any seperate endings also made them feel less interesting, I honestly didn't give a single shit about any character in the game except for the loli that got tinier everytime she duplicated items (which wasn't reflected on her ingame model what made it kinda disappointing).

Gathering areas are bloated and mostly useless, there's like 50 gathering areas and maybe 5 of them hold any special items that you need while others only have the same items in slightly higher quality. There's like 20 forests? Why? They don't feel distinguish at all.

The game was poorly balanced aswell, if you couldn't overcome an enemy you just needed to grind while in the other ateliers you could mostly blame your failures on not fully understanding the alchemy system. Yes, once you got a hang of it they were quite easy but getting there was really fun. In sophie there's maybe a single postgame dungeon that you can't beat by pure grinding.

Rare materials only spawning from rumours is fucking retarded when there's no time limit. If I wanted something special I had to sleep for fucking weeks and check the rumours every single time, why not give you the option to take 2 rumours a week or something when there's no downside to just sleeping them off anyways?

And there's much more but 2000 characters limit per message.

There are items that you'll never fucking use but you still unlock them because you don't know at first. Also a very low amount of events make it feel like nothing ever happens in the game.

There's also this one fucking trophy that's completely missable, it's the only in the game and you have to replay the game up until the very end to unlock it since you have to craft a specific item before fighting the last boss to trigger a worthless cutscene that doesn't actually add anything to the game.

The new artstyle looks very sterile in my opinion and it makes the game look depressing.

That's all from the top of my head for now, It's been like a year that I played the game but it was by far the most disappointing game of 2016 for me because I was looking forward to it since I liked ateliers, but this game ruined it for me to the point where I simply don't give a shit about firis. Also the PC port felt like a slap in the face, because it sounds like they don't care that the quality of the game is going downhill since they'll make up for it with sales from steam instead of listening to fans of the series tomake it great again.

I don't remember how exactly it worked but since every character had different speed attributes you had to line them up perfectly to help each other out which could take a bunch of turns until the one you want is most likely to use his special but it still doesn't happen 100%. Not that it really matters in the end since the difficulty was laughable anyways and once you figure out your teamwide auto revive elixiers that also give you a buff and fill everyones inventory with them and some nucelar bombs that last multiple turns you'll have a hard time finding a single enemy that even lives long enough to trigger your super.

I'm the guy from yesterday who asked for some recommendations to spend my day off with. I went with Gravity Rush Remastered in the end. I'm not really far into it, but it's a sweet game. I've read that some people don't like the combat or find the story not so good, but I like both so far. The style is really nice, the music is good, the characters are likeable. I'm one of those weird guys who love romance stuff in games, but I fear that this game will go the usual anime route and just make Kat a total cock tease for Syd, with resolving nothing in the end.

Try Hard mode first, since you can knock the difficulty down at any point unlike the other games, so there's no reason to feel intimidated about being locked into a difficulty that's too tough. I loved P5's Hard mode compared to the other games, since it's far less bullshit and a lot more fun.
Instead of pulling sleazy tactics like making you earn less EXP and money for encounters, forcing you to grind more, they give you the same amount of EXP on all difficulties and just focus on making the enemies stronger and you weaker in a balanced manner. You don't have to grind at all in P5, and this is true for all difficulties.
They also don't make game overs set you back further on Hard like they did in P4G; If you die, you go back to the last Safe Room on all difficulties, and if you die to a boss, you can retry it immediately in the same state you were before the fight.
It sounds like Normal will be too easy for you, since Futaba has a lot of the same skills Rise had, and there are some other s.link skills you'll get new to P5 too.

The main antagonist, Helis wasnt even white male. The guy who made the virus in the past, Ted, was just shown as a purple hologram so I dont know if he was white. But given his name was Ted, I am assuming he was white. But even then Ted was a decent written character, and I think he had a good reason to stop Apollo from activating.

The black GAIA chick who was suppose to be a supreme AI, didn't even do jack shit and just got fucked the second she went on her own. Her being black did irk me. If they where going for the greek god themm, they should have just made the AI look like a greek statue. The one muslim chick didnt do anything either, she was a best a glorified librarian.

Also so to add, there wasnt any glaring GURRRLL power stuff save for probably a handful of side quest, where it usually just an off handed quip. The only blatant parts where involved with two npcs in different quests. One mentions something about how girls can be hunters too and she never makes any women empowering types of references after that and the other is some female spy type chick who by the near end of the story when you meet her again is basically cock hungry for another npc.

There was even a black queen in the game. I was expecting some "YYYAASS SLAYY, WE WUZ" type of shit but she didnt even have any lines.

Aside from all that, I really enjoyed playing Horizon, the combat gets more fun if you use a variety of weapons and opens up when it gets easier to switch the stats boosts on them. I look forward to play the sequel (the antagonist is going to be a black guy!)
