Honestly I don't think they need to do much to rectify this. They need more visual or audio feedback that he's having an impact and that's it.
Reasons why Mercy and Ana are so great to play for healing is because you get the audio and visual feedback and the instant 'thump' of healing that makes it feel impactful. Lucio doesn't get shit but a counter on his screen saying how many people he's healing.

If they added a feint aura, or all allies he was healing glowed a specific color to his aura while showing tiny heal/speed symbols then it could be enough to make him more impactful.

I think they should make it so his allies get a tiny glow with symbols popping out around them when he's in radius now I think about it. The lore hasn't really developed, mostly because of Orisa. I like the concept behind her place in the story, in that she's the only brand new hero that doesn't actually have a history, but outside of it being neat it just means everything's slowed down.

The only thing I can think of that's been developed is Doomfist's lore, we know Scourge is still active and the Successor probably doesn't exist and is just propaganda by Numbani's government.

Well there's two kinds of Mercy players: the ones that follow someone around even after they've healed them until they get shot and then run all the way back to spawn if they have to to get away, and the ones that fly to every member of the team, pocket the tank on a push, ACTUALLY KNOW DAMAGE BOOST EXISTS, take out the gun and get picks on low damage enemies, and only hang back and hide because they're about to woosh in and rez the entire team.

The thing with Doomfist is that what we know is that Scourge is a terrorist, why the FUCK would there be a popular museum dedicated to a terrorist advertised around a progressive city? Of course Savior seems to be liked, but then there should be a museum dedicated to just the Savior.

Scourge's recent attacks have caused upset between omnics and humans, even in a city that gets along, what I think is that the Numbani government created the idea of a "Successor" to bring hope, the Savior's legacy isn't gone, someone just needs to take the name Doomfist back from the Scourge. Heck, the Successor could even be an omnic!

It's a move to try and cater to omnics who are scared of Scourge. Problem is, the OR15 program sucked dick, so Scourge is STILL active. Only thing that could stop him is Orisa, which the government had no hand in, they just thought the OR15s would work.

I'd like to see an effect added to Winston's tesla to make up for the relatively low damage. My recommendation is having it slow or stop cooldowns. This lets you jump a Hog, D.Va or Tracer after they've exhausted their abilities and suppress them, whereas now it's overly difficult to do anything against them.

That would make sense, maybe not the slowing since mei's ice does that but the suppression of abilities. The electric shocks from his Tesla gun could mess up their machinery.

Just got the game a day ago. (PS4)
For front lines, I originally liked Winston a lot. But when I tried him, he just felt so trash. His shield just gets destroyed instantly and his jump feels so unimpactful and I feel like I just die. I don't try to be that frontline that jumps into a 1v5 but I feel completely useless as him. Then I tried Roadhog and landed a lot of my chains on Mercys and felt better.
Is Winston considered good or am I just shit?

Winston is good but he's not a front liner that's for sure. You want to scout out mostly their supports, so keep your eyes open for Mercy, Zen and Lucio. Jump on them and just focus them down, use shield when needed and jump back to safety once you're done.

You can kill Ana too but if she sleep darts you then it's over.

Also Winston's ult isn't for damage, it's for CC and disruption, it also heals you so it can be a real life saver at times. It's great for contesting points.

If you want a generic front liner then pick Rein, no one else does it like he does.
