I'm sitting here watching the Oriath Trailer with tears welling in my eyes. Then I watch Ziggy's video and feel my heart swelling. Pure joy isn't a common feeling, certainly not from a video game announcement. I never feel true happiness for myself anyway, to me it's always been a shared feeling.
And that's when it hit me: I was truly happy for GGG. I've been following this game since closed beta. I've seen the struggles, the frustration, the pride and the continuous struggles of Path of Exile. Deep down, I've always kept a little apprehension; a dev team like GGG isn't common in the industry, and they could go under at any moment. Even to this day, the community was divided concerning douple dipping, the Xbox meta, trading, etc.
Finally, with the Fall of Oriath, GGG cements their position as one of the best dev team to ever see the light. No more fear, no more stress, only elation, and a strange calmness remains. Sure, there are still challenges ahead. Trading is a big one, and balance is like freedom: it requires eternal vigilance.
But now, I know that everything's gonna be fine. They're the best we have, and goddamn I'm happy for them

I've gotten used to these threads. I even find some of the memes funny now. I lurk in a ton of PoE Twitch channels and actually enjoy the chat. But this term is bothering me to the point I'm willing to be flamed to say something about it.
"Shitcrow" is a slur. Period. In my view it is every bit as bad as "[N-word]crow". And yet I see it used all the time in this thread.
I know what the response to this will be. "It's 4chan, what do you expect", for one. I don't accept this. Inane is fine. Hateful is not. I've got no problem with taking shit and even a little bit of flaming from time to time - basically, stuff happens. I just think that we can do this without crossing the line to hate speech.

I was actually very proud of our community that "rekt" has largely replaced "raped", even more so because people have turned it into something funny. I hope we can do something similar here. Slurs based on race, gender, nationality, or sexual preference have no place anywhere, including in our community. I hope that major streams and forum moderators will join me in timing people out and even (after repeated violations) banning for use of this and similar terms. Thanks for reading.

What are you having problems with? You need a skill that does a bunch of physical damage and some method of applying poison. And Blade Flurry is out since it's a two handed weapon. Viper Strike has been quite popular due to its 8 second base poison duration and physical to chaos conversion.

MoM makes ES halfway useless
CI makes everything useless that doesnt give max ES
Acrobatics makes every other defense useless

The only build that can utilize Hybrid defenses would be a ranged Trickster. And that only because it gives a huge flat boost to evasion and ES and the ES recharge. In melee it's still almost completely useless.

edge of madness already has a lot of chaos damage actually, and i grab around 200% to physical and 250% chaos from the tree. with EoM chaos scaling that's around 285-90% chaos. here are my build options:

much more increased chaos%, huge energy shield, chaos pen and chaos corpse explosions. problems are in figuring out how to survive and aoe poison application. i was even thinking of cyclone with poison support but that just sounds kind of bad. to circumvent the poison application quandary i can just go assassin, but assassin's ascendancy nodes are far less relevant in general than occultist's, save of course the poison/bleed on hit, both of which should double dip with huge bonuses.

i guess pathfinder and raider are also options, pathfinder having the easy guaranteed poison but more difficult pathing. raider runs into the same poison generation issues as occultist.

i'm leaning towards occultist, but that might be the wrong answer.

I did EoM as an Assassin with Viper Strike. Growing Agony is fabulous now that it gives effectively 100% uptime on Unholy Might. It was quite nice, and the poison damage was intense.

The downside is that Melee Splash was mandatory. In hindsight, I should have gone Slayer. Bringer of Rain is super cheap now (2 - 3 chaos for a low roll to get you started) so that plus Slayer's Impact gets you an effective 8L. Socket it with Added Chaos, Void Manipulation, and Multistrike, and you're ready to rock and roll.

The offensive potential of EoM is so huge (thanks largely to double-dipping) that you should probably be basing class choice on defensive features. Any half-assed build can push rock solid DPS with any random physical skill and a poison support.

Glad it's working out for you. EoM has always been one of my favorite uniques, and I'm very happy that it's finally viable as more than just a leveling weapon.

You can currently get a Faminebind and Feastbind for a combined ~60c if you want to play around with The Retch. It's pretty hilarious when combined with Slayer's Endless Hunger and Brutal Fervour (doubly so with Vaal Pact). Being reflected damage, it won't scale with modifiers, but it's still a ton of free damage. I had one back on Perandus League, and it was a lot of fun. Also, 60% increased flask duration, much like Wu Tang Clan, ain't nuttin' to fuck wit'.
