Actually quite the opposite. You're pretty much encouraged to experiment, rerolling is easy to do, and there's a good amount of resources for you to use and study to theorycraft your own builds to experiment with.

If you're just starting out, for instance, you will not have the expensive BIS/build-enabling gear that people throw around. So you need to experiment and theorycraft for budget builds at first, on top of just getting a feel for how the game works and how different classes and abilities play for you.

You will mess up a lot. You will reroll a lot. The game is OK with this, because a League-wide shared stash lets you twink your later characters to the gills. Which will enable you to save good gear and skill gems for experimenting with new builds.

Nah I don't dual-curse or use CoH. Dual-curse is solid but I'm opting for more life and defense, despite going into the Witch area.

Manually cursing once is quick and fine for me. Pressing one button for End'Cry is fine too.

I've always liked the radius clusters and the Witch area is solid for Elemental Overload. You can do many things with RF. An easy one being ignoring Witch area and getting the life clusters in Templar. With this and the duelist aura nodes, you can get even more max res on your purities and use all three specific purities--this is a meme I really like, very underrated but sadly I'm doing something different this time.

And yes I am aware it is a level 100 build and I'll probably never hit it on this character, I simply like to flesh out the tree in a "what if?" There are many points you can easily get did of/leave last.

Spell Echo Firestorm works but has somewhat sluggish clear speed due to the low base cast time and balls not overlapping (there are "dead zones" per storm per cast) and there's no good way to solve this except stack more Firestorms or have them one-shot trash

(Scorching Ray) CwC Firestorm feels smoother when you wanna "strafe" areas like breaches and solves the "dead zones" problem since you burn things like SR anyway, plus you have good synergy of supports between the two:
- Elemental Focus is 50% more ele damage and you do not care about ignites with Firestorm, Emberwake excluded)
- Duration scales both, SR's burning degen, and Firestorm itself obviously

There is no way to reduce the 0.1 delay between each ball
