Warp Lakeside tower, Glide to the top of the start of the bridge.

Lanas Ryu has the best spot near the Lanaryu East Gate/Promenade since the dragon fliest trough the valley at like 22 each night.

Similarly Dindragon flies through Tanagar Canyon every night, so you can basically warp to Hebra and catch it.

The problem with durability is, as he said, it's unrealistic how fast gear in BotW degrades, and the inability to maintain equipment is bad design. Only the bow is stronger than the ancient equivalent, and the rest isn't much better than champion weapons. And even with that damage you just might be able to kill two silver enemies or guardians with one weapon where a weaker weapon would last much longer. To put it in perspective, that's not just killing those two faster than you would- That's killing a fucking lynel, which will cost you, if you use lynel weapons, about four lynel weapons to kill, to kill those two enemies that you could kill almost as fast using the fucking master sword that lasts like fifteen times as long and comes back ten minutes after breaking despite being a bit over half as strong.

Sticker Star gives you an nigh endless supply of stickers which are effectively weapon currency. You use them to fight and that's that. It's not really a perfect comparison since in SS you only get coins from battling instead of any real progression. In BotW you get loot on top of additional equipment to use, so fighting does have some value. In Sticker Star the only fights you have any real purpose for doing are the plot relevant boss ones. Color Splash is the same.

There's only five actual weapon types anyway (bows, spears, generic 1handers, generic 2handers and katanas) with a few generics (eg wands, the master sword, boomerangs, the wind sword) having special effects when you do different things with them. It's not like making you use different weapons actually offers a greatly varied experience as it would in something like Monster Hunter or even Dark Souls.

Which is another point, Dark Souls has a durability system and 2 was notorious for how easily things break because idiots kept chopping away at corpses when for whatever reason it broke weapons twice as fast, but I never had a problem with it in that game, nor with the combat being samey, nor did I use one weapon all the time.

Things that would make it acceptable:

Anyone knows what counts for 100%? I keep finding chests, especially in water, but if they don't count I will stop looking because it takes so much time, and also 90% of the time my inventory is full so it feels retarded to drop a good weapon for another every other minute.

Holy shit

The story is quite underwhelming. The back of a box of Captain Crunch is more engaging.

About 40 hours and 2 divine beasts into the game.

So far my only complaint is the lack of knowledge presented to the player. Horizon: Zero Dawn has a handy feature that tells you what items are used for crafting and which items are purely for selling to merchants for cash. BotW doesn't tell you anything releated to what your gems do or how many gems you're gonna need to upgrade your gear or to complete a fetch quest, while also forcing you to sell something because rupees themselves are rare but necessary throughout the entire game.

That and the lack of content along the edges of the map, such as Gerudo highlands and behind death mountain. They usually just stick a Lynel there and call it good. Even korok seeds are rare there.

The Switch version is objectively better and the Switch actually has a future. So, if you don't have one, it's more worth getting those.

If you don't have much money and don't care to wait for Switch games to come out, a Wii U would obviously make more sense, especially if you already have one.

Personally, I would say get the Switch and BotW unless you absolutely can't afford that because this game is so content packed that it'll hold you over until Switch games come out in the future.

Also, if you get it in Wii U and later on sale on a Switch (when you eventually get one, if you do) you'd have to start all over. This game is way to fucking big to start over.
