No what i mean is he turns around because he sees that I am no longer locking him so he thinks I left, when I'm actually still there.
I like to pull this really cheeky trick where I launch an R-27T/ET at maximum range and immediately unlock them and split S.
They think that I am just defending their shot and they fly right into it. Doesn't work against seasoned pilots but it catches people pretty often.
>>170939880
>>170942459
What game is this?
Is it possible in the DCS mission editor to make a persistent mission (like BlueFlag) that tallies "points" for each side, for things like killing other players, ai aircraft, ground targets, hard targets, infrastructure, etc?
>>170949872
Half and half.
Tallies points? Yes.
Figuring out who those points should go to? Maybe.
>>170949968
Could you maybe use a program outside DCS to tally it? Say, the server reports what was killed and by whom, and the outside program keeps track. I don't know what sort of data can be "exported" from a running server and read by third party programs.
>>170950176
Idk. I don't dabble with stuff like that in the ME.
>>170949872
>>170950176
There are functions in the mission editor itself to get points as far as I'm aware, but you'd be far better off scripting it using lua.
This picture looks like one of those model sets
>>170951907
This angle makes the MiG-29SMT look slightly less unflattering
who wants to fly. pls
>>170952305
Its like when fat chicks try to take pictures at the best angle.
SMT looks ok at certain angles, but man its a fat bitch.
I'm slowly starting to be ok with it though.
Hopefully the MiG-35 actually goes into service, things are sounding good so far. Putin actually talked about it on TV recently.
>>170953212
the mig35 is the cherry on the shit sunday known as the fulcrum family. it's another 4+++++ meme plane that no one's gonna buy
>>170953654
Not everybody can afford 5th fighters you know.
Russia plans on buying them though, so does Egypt.
I think 4+ gen aircraft will have a place in air forces around the world for a while still.
US will continue to opearte F-15's, F-18's and even F-16's.
>>170953654
Also I'd just like to say the Fulcrum family's main issue was being behind in avionics. Its airframe was and is still considered excellent in terms of aerodynamic performance.
That's why the MiG-29M being cancelled is so disappointing. It was what the Fulcrum should have been from the start. Infact i was just watching this:
https://youtu.be/SokBfoIOiFg?t=8m49s
at 8:49 and until like 9:30ish they talk about how the MiG-29M actually got the order to be mass produced and almost simultaneously the USSR collapsed. Talk about blyat.
That's why the MiG-29K and MiG-35 are so cool. Russia finally is able to afford a Fulcrum that is up to modern standards.
I also read today that many countries performed their own ghetto upgrades on MiG-29's, again to bring them to modern standards. Basically their own SMT upgrade package. (most manged to make them look less ugly though)
Fulcrum, had a hard life. Sukhoi was the favorite for the post collapse Russia and it shows.
>>170954640
There's a reason why sukhoi has become the favourite, and really the only reason sukhoi wasn't the favorite from the beginning was because of corruptions, and because sukhoi wasn't even a member of the communist party.
So the SPO in the MiG-29 is to dull and you can't see shit on it unless its in a shadow.
Really annoying during night missions with your lights on, or during the day when the sun is on it.
Some guy fixed it in literally 15 minutes in photoshop.
https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3067370&postcount=3
Makes a world of a difference. I can actually read it now. Must have download if you fly the Fulcrum.

this CAN'T be how it's flown right? I've basically added them to the joystick because having to stare at the button and figure out which is going to fire next is fucking stupid
>>170991451
IIRC it's actually supposed to set the priority not the only one armed.
For example you have IR and SAR on alternating pylons. and the missile type switch in any position. It'll fire the IR first if it's in the IR position for example.
So you select pylon pair and the type of missile you want first and fire them both with one press.
Then you don't need to touch anything and the next long press will fire the next 2
If that makes any sense.

>>170996427
>to fix their notoriously unreliable indigenous small arms designs
The L85 used the AR-18 action, american design,
H&K were owned by BAe systems at the time.
>>170996658
The yanks decided not to pursue it until the gods at Hawker Siddley made it viable, then the yanks bought them quick enough
Clear skies and light wind my ass, AWOS, get your shit fixed. Here we go!
Woof, that was no fun. Still, the booze is delivered, and the day saved!
>>170996786
>L85 used the AR-18 action
Yes and that wasn't the issue (other reliable designs such as the G36, FN-SCAR, etc all use the same mechanism). If you think the "action" (or in reality operating design mechanism) is the only thing which affects reliability then it's just merely reflective of your reduced British capacity to understand mechanical engineering. Watch these videos to get an understanding of what the real issues where: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ExHSsrt5ko & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDCRop6CRwY
Also just because HK was partially owned by BAe systems doesn't mean it still wasn't German engineers who had to fix it (it was).
>>170996786
Now I know you're just being retarded on purpose here lad. The Harrier was a shit plane when it was designed by Hawker Siddley, just look at the accident rate for irrefutable proof. The British practically begged the Americans to come fix it for them. Just be happy you Brits have come to your senses and stopped trying to design your own aircraft

>>170997529
Technically they only owned a majority share, two out of the three founders still held like 15% of the stock.
And that's completely beside the point which is that it was still german engineers who needed to come in and fix a shit british design once again.

Undoubtedly the USA served as the economic powerhouse for the allied effort. Anyone who knows jack shit about war knows that economies are the driving force behind any military, and when the USA was producing over 60% of the total allied production it's clear they did the lion's share of the work. Google lend-lease act.
And before any ignorant persons say "muh red army", the Soviets received 17.5 million tons of aid from the Allies and 94% originated in the US. Of the aid the Soviet received accounted for: Nearly 60% of aviation fuel, 33% of military vehicles (including 12% of their tanks and self-propelled guns), 53% of the ordinance used, 30% of military aircraft, and anywhere for 50 to 80% of their industrial and military grade metal and steel. The US also gave the USSR 4,478,116 tons of foodstuffs and a one complete tire plant from Ford. The US provided railway related material including 1911 steam locomotives, 66 Diesel locomotives, 9,920 flat cars, 1,000 dump cars, 120 tank cars, and 35 heavy machinery cars along with a large amount of wide gauge rail. To put the size in prospective with the scope of the 17.5 million tons the Soviets received alone, the US Army used 22 million tons in supplies for their entire European campaign.
So yea, we won the war for you cucks.

The Air Force is the service that thinks they can replace a dedicated ground attack plane with a multirole fighter that's half made up of experimental technology and comes with a fraction of the cannon ammo and armor that made the original plane so good at its job, innovation is something they've struggled with

>>171043831
Yes it does.
>>171043890
Not a very good one then
>>171044046
How can you tell? It's simulating "normal" plane characteristics.
If it didn't have FBW you would be constantly pitching up a little, then you had to pitch down to counter the increase of pitch up, except this isn't consistent with speed so you would have to pitch up or down again because as you slow down the plane might exhibit different pitch moment.
how would you go about defeating this?
>>171038312
Dead reckoning by magnetic compass, the way God and nature intended

this is exactly what happens in dcs
as soon as you take off you have to trim your nose down or it will try to climb.
it seems that the behaviour changes depending on your altitude.
None of this happens in the superior f15, because that plane has a working FBW system, one that's not made by slavs
>>171047076
>because that plane has a *different* FBW system
Fixed friend.
Get into the Su-27 and press S. Thats what no FBW feels like.
SHIEEEEET that's pretty cool, I didn't know Saitek made a force sensing stick
>>171047076
I realize my description wasn't helpful.
So lets try this again. If you've flown an WW2 era plane, you'll know that increasing speed will cause the plane to pitch up as it's trying to stay at the same speed. Much like if you slow down, it'll nose down. The elevator now points down to prevent the plane from climbing because you trimmed.
This isn't true with a statically unstable plane. Without the FBW, it will never attempt to maintain it's "condition", in fact it will increase pitch at higher rates on it's own. Now while this sounds familiar to the previous case you need to factor in what the pilot does.
When you pull for a turn in a stable plane, you maintain stick pressure to pull. In a unstable plane, you pull stick to start the turn THEN you push the stick forwards to prevent the plane from pitching up harder.

I was taught navigation in the Australian outback -admittedly with a DG, not just a compass, but the school that taught me thought GPS nav was cheating. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly. Then on hoggit later on that night he told me I suck at flying. Wtf I hate the dood now.

stop taking the bait you retards
Why do I always forget about the Su-34? It's a neat plane.
>>171183764
>a jewish war profiteer?
>>171186449
Su-34 is awesome. In my opinion air superiority fighters that are refitted for a ground attack role are the best.
You already have this airframe with excellent range, speed, payload, and maneuverability (Flanker, Eagle), why not just make that airframe for dedicated ground attack? Makes too much sense to me.
There is no reason to use something like an A-10 or Su-25 over an F-15E or Su-34.
Also surprised to find out that the RuAF has like 100 Fullbacks.
>>171187715
Damn I really wish we could have on in DCS now
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBEkjj9PL5I
imagine how fucking lit it would be attacking FARPs and comm arrays with that thing. especially if it was multicrew
There will never be a modern Russian aircraft in DCS
>>171181889
t-t-t-thanks sempai
the mirage is shit and it's gay but it's the only twisty clicky 4th gen on red side
splashing these shitters in f-15s is pretty easy when they fly stoopid
>>171192103
The Mirage currently has the best SARH missiles on Blue Flag and it is the dominating fighter. Its only drawback is that it is limited to only two SARH missiles.
>>171186449
>ywn perform comfy deep strikes next to a qt co-pilot
why live
>>171192103
Dude the Mirage is excellent
>>171191089
True.
But, even as a full blown slavhating 100% murican Natoboo, you would still want full fidelity Russian modules to be added. You should want full fidelity OPFOR to fight, because eventually OPFOR/REDFOR will be tired of still flying FC3 Flankers and Fulcrums against full fidelity NATO equivalents.
>>171192103
Mirage has good radar and RWR, and it's fast. I saw a guy who spent his entire flight at 12k+ meters high, going legit 1900km/h.
I couldn't do anything to him in the Flanker. He was out running R-73's. Shit was nuts.
Mirage no longer does very well in turnfights though. I remember losing a turnfight to a mirage that had just taken off when I was in a Flanker with 10% fuel. That's insanity.
Now it loses its energy really fast and will lose against MiGs/Su's every time, as it should.
>>171193185
>Mirage has good radar and RWR, and it's fast. I saw a guy who spent his entire flight at 12k+ meters high, going legit 1900km/h.
That shouldn't be possible though.
>send a bunch of supplies, trucks and 2nd-hand aircraft and tanks
>"we won ww2 kek"
I can't imagine how hard USA would've been blasted off the face of earth in a 1-on-1 with Germany. They're lucky they had 5 years to get off their feet and prepare for total war while all other countries have been grinding since the 30's and had no break.
>>171194072
You can't go Mach 1.5 at 39,000 ft?
>>170994976
Fuck you man my grandma worked on that shit.
Release in 1 1/2 hours, are you hyped?
I cannot step out of my rig and take off Oculus Rift after a race in iRacing or Assetto Corsa and not fucking marvel at what is available to use in our own homes these days.
>>171194390
Actually it was SELL a bunch of supplies, trucks and 2nd-hand aircarft and tanks. Thanks for killing yourselves over nothing again so we could be the only superpower.

Is there mods for DW that bring it up to modern resolution standards and improve things?
>>171192349
>>171192521
I know it's "good", I guess what I meant was it's kind of a fucboi plane to slot into. I'd rather fly a full fidelity MiG-23 even if it wasn't as "good".
>>171181889
>Someday in this century, DCS might get dedicated servers and fix it's netcode. That'll be a good day.
I think my shit ass ping actually helps me in dogfights, I'm sure for other players I'm warping all over the fucking place.
>>171197101
Is there a way to play this campaign without getting assblasted?
SAR have too many tanks
>>171196435
Without external tanks you can go to about Mach 2.1 at that altitude.
>>171196435
I've seen the Mirage's top speed quoted as 2.2 mach at altitude. It's service ceiling is allegedly 59,000ft
Less than 20 minutes now!
5 minutes now!

I love the butthurt europoors and slavshits who can't deal with the fact that they have become irrelevant. Hell even Israel is more formidable than any of them and they're fucking Jews. A group of people who have been kicked around europe like shit for a thousand years.
Pathetic. And hilarious.

I'm not the europoors who lost their anal integrity above.
Just pointing out sheer facts.
Bongs would agree with me as well. Their country is essentially our lap dog. Who was once our Father who we killed and reincarnated into a doggo. Sad!
Why the fuck would I ever fly the MiG-29 over the Su-27 in DCS?
Su-27:
-more missiles
-more fuel/range/on station time
-much better radar, better EO
-better MFD
-faster top speed
-better turn rate
-better flight model
-looks cooler
-is actually good irl unlike the mig-29
Why do you guys insist on limiting your self by flying the MiG-29?
>>171132483
>that prefect blend of cold war and modern
I NEED IT
>>171214257
It has the perfect selection of weapons that would make it the last REDFOR module we'd need for a long long time.
Obviously R-73's and R-27's, but now you'd get R-77's on a flanker.
For air to ground you'd have all the dumb weapons we have now, but also:
>KH-29T TV-Guided Fire and forget fuck huge Russian Maverick.
>KAB-500 TV-Guided Bomb
>KH-31A Anti-Ship Missile (Viggens blown the fuck out)
>KH-25MP Anti-Radar Missile (Su-25T on suicide watch)
DAILY
REMINDER
WE ALMOST HAD AN SU-27SM BEFORE ED WAS KEKED
NEVER FORGETTI NEVER FORGIVI

move two platoons to middle keypoint, but not on the point, south of it. There's a sloping hill with lots of vegetation dig tanks in there and camp, if you want to sit out in the open in the middle plains area than sit on the edge of the map so there's at least 2,000+ meters between you and enemy tanks, that's the only range where you can realistically engage them with T-55s while being outnumbered (but you will still take more casualties than you deal in 80% cases desu senpai)
send 1 platoon to the south and help the infantry, and the T-54/55 detachment north I usually withdraw them and use them to reinforce the middle.
Counterattack at night where the SAR tanks won't spot you out at long range and wipe you out, and when they are weak enough, launch an attack and capture the zones where the SAR are positioned in and push them off the map, that way their reserves (hoards more troops) can't deploy to the battlefield
Move repair detached company to fix damaged tanks, and move undersupplied tanks near the supply company whenever possible.
The BRDMs use them to reinforce south, they have realistic uses down there, middle is all tank battles.
