It may not have been the right decision for Max if she didn't have time travel powers (since it could be considered murder depending on the state), but it was for Chloe.

She was suffering, she hadn't seen ANY of her friends since the accident, her parents were bankrupt and their house was about to be foreclosed, and Chloe was nearing death. The fact that she cared so much about Max, a friend that may have well abandoned her for 5 years, that her simple visit was the best thing to happen to her since the accident speaks volumes about how she sees Max, and would rather die being with Max than die alone. I know I could've just said no and go back through the photo, but it doesn't feel fair to Chloe, even if the timeline would get overwritten.

I think so too. We all die, and as opposed to all the other times, this was as good a point for her to as one could hope for. Having had a life, if short, with people you love, dying at the side of the most treasured person in your life, at their hand, painlessly, deliberately, after a day and night spent in loving and caring togetherness, accepting and embracing that death, drifting into that slumber getting to say "I'm proud of you" and "I love you" to that person as your final words.

It's such a special moment, for her, their relationship, the story. Bittersweet, sad-happy, but perfect, especially in contrast to how it would have ended otherwise, in that bathroom, never having reunited. It's its opposite in many senses.

Chloe didn't have to fight anymore, here. Max gave her that peace, was strong for her like that, to then return to where they would continue and win that fight.

I think a kid could bring more life into Joyce and David's marriage again, giving them new energy and motivation to deal with their problems, but it's true that pregnancy beyond one's fourties comes with increased complications and risks, and perhaps they really just are past even wanting children.

The idea of Max and Chloe as parents is too sweet for me not to at least entertain it as well, but yeah, it's headcanon through-and-through, seeing how distant even just as a concept it is for them as we get to know them in the game. Marriage and a dog are definitely in there though!

Oh, yeah, not really the greatest fit musically. Perhaps not hitting on the melancholic notes of the bittersweetness in it enough. But I was excited how incredibly well it fit lyrically, considering its thematic fit, being a Blade Runner song and all.

I could see "Overture" playing for the final moments of the AU, starting once the cinematic cuts in when Max goes to inject the morphine, sits down again, the farewell, and then also play for the remainder of the cut scene where Max goes back into the photo, lets William leave, talks to Chloe... fading out and giving way slowly to "In My Mind" with the photo transitions.

I do think a kid would calm down David a bit but there's still the issue of age.

My own idea for him is that he retires from Blackwell after everything and after the investigations.
Joyce got injured during the storm, she recovers but for the time after David was there for her and it really pulled the two of them closer together (Especially when Chloe was safe and away with Max's family in Seattle).
The owner of Two Whales decided to leave and gave the diner to Joyce. She and David own and run it together. It's much less stressful, they make decent money, and they spend more time together. Eventually they will also end up babysitting their grandkids so they interact with children that way.

Sounds sensible. I could see David kind of finding a calling in helping rebuild Arcadia, or even just the diner. In a sense, it could be a very healing experience for his PTSD-related issues, seeing as how it's helping relief efforts in what is similar to a post-war scenario. I bet the cops would poke fun at him in the diner, and he'd have become a man that can take it, has more easy-going self-deprecation than his militaristic self-discipline. I agree, it was an important time of their lives, and for their relationship, in as much as it defined them and made them who they became, led to what they then were to become together in their reunion.

And so just as from the soil of that tragic separation ultimately something good grew, perhaps the same can be said for the tragedy of Rachel's passing, one day. Maybe her death contributed or will contribute to the fall of Prescotts, bringing peace and harmony and nature back to Arcadia. Maybe it lead to Max and Chloe's reunion and their survival to begin with. Maybe it was the reason Jefferson's crimes were ever revealed to the world. It wasn't in vain, and from the soil of her grave there'll also grow something again.

At the end of it all, Rachel watches over her friends and the town she was so desperate to get out of. But from her afterlife she can take satisfaction knowing she won and those she cared about; Chloe and Frank, are alright despite all they've been through.

I don't know how the weather is in Oregon. I looked it up once and they said heavy snowfall is rare but it can happen. Seattle can also get decent snowfall at times.
The snow at the end of episode 1 seemed to be weird because it was entirely unforecasted, even if it was just a flurry.

My only criticism is sometimes the text gets lost in the background. Noticeably in Victoria's and Max's rooms. Not sure if you would be able to find a color that stands out from all backgrounds, maybe put it in a textbox that you can pulldown and read.

The VA in question did kind of deny she's working on LiS on her twitter (along the lines of "I think you misunderstood me!")... but it seemed very damage control-y. What this Kim gal says in the video is very clear, and I can't see what misunderstanding could have possibly led to it. In Episode 1 after pulling the fire alarm you can talk to her and she says how she likes Jefferson and makes a comment she would make a move on him if Victoria wasn't trying so hard (I guess it gives the overall impression Jefferson does not pursue relationships with students).
Later on you see her during the party and she's working for Jefferson with lighting/ sound but says it's strictly for the job. Seems like she was getting paid or extra credit for helping out.
Point is, even if she said some stuff she never acted on it.

Did they, though? In one timeline, Chloe is dead and Max has to live the rest of her life with a head full of memories that never happened. In the other, their hometown was razed, friends and family were killed, and there's no telling if there will be more storms, or other disasters.

Maybe if you pick Chloe, then the two of them won in that Chloe is alive and they can be together, but oh boy it was at one hell of a cost.

Chloe's dead. The last thing she heard was that no one would miss her. The last thing she felt was her own stomach acid spilling out and burning her innards. She died in agony, slowly bleeding out, and all Max did was sit in the corner and cry like a pathetic coward. She'll be scarred for life from that, and never able to relate her experiences to anyone. They'll eat away at Max's insides just like the acid from Chloe's stomach did to hers. She'll probably borrow Chloe's old truck one day, and drive it off the cliff at the lighthouse. Isn't that beautiful? :)

That storm barely killed anyone. Chloe's family was safe (David was in the Dark Room and could have brought others there) and their friends were in Blackwell which is more inland and also sturdily built. Most likely has a cellar too.
Definitely not a "perfect" ending but one where Max and Chloe are together is a good one because it means whatever problems or tragedies they endured, they have someone there for them that can pull them up in their worst moments- Which is one of the most important aspects of love.

I'm not even convinced it has to do with Max. I linked the storm more to Rachel's fury since it's in every timeline. If Chloe dies then it placates Rachel somehow and prevents/delays the storm.

Of if it really was linked to Max's powers than perhaps going back and saving Chloe a different way will reset things to be fine.

It's a fanfic and VN. All the Tumblr drama aside, it just doesn't fit what most of us envisioned would happen after the ending of the game.
It's very pessimistic and more and more problems just keep popping up. I also felt that nearly every character was too mean from the first few chapters I read. The summary is about getting better but that has yet to happen over something like a dozen, very long chapters.
You shouldn't hate it blindly but if you do like it, it would be best not to openly broadcast it over /lisg/.

It's a post-sacrifice Arcadia Bay story that deals with Max descending into madness. Basically the nightmare bleeding into her real life.

People don't like it because it apparently introduces a lot of problems into Max and Chloe's relationship that are not in the spirit of its original narrative or the characters. And one thing that particularly upset people was that the author, in projecting his views onto the characters, had Chloe want to have a sexually promiscuous relationship, inviting two guys in for a foursome without regard for Max's feelings.

From what I have read of it, I also can't say the spirit of the game or characters is really captured in it, even my disagreement with its premise altogether aside. The author is really noticable in it, in voice and themes.

Maybe it's your thing though. It's of course not wrong to think there could be terrible times after the Bae ending, even if I think its sentiment is pretty obviously the exact opposite, and that nightmarish weird stuff becoming reality is just altogether not really interesting as far as I'm concerned. I just stopped reading it as I realized it's not my thing and that's that. But I did enjoy that the author got shit for it when he shilled it everywhere. Tweeting at the VAs, creating his VN things, contacting and apparently not knowing when to stop contacting artists on tumblr. Making yourself known tends to come with getting yourself hated, and I think there's things people are justified hating in it.

But indeed, it's just one of thousands of fanfics, and there's decidedly worse things in themes and writing among them.
