The long grind for Liberation was because Liberation used to be the best non-epic weapon in most cases since a majority of the level 85 tradeable leg weapons are pretty terrible and the level 85 quest leg weapons are stupid memes. The only important thing for SM if you graduate your chron sets is to have a zanbato. The other masteries are total garbage compared to zan on top of zan having the highest Patt of all the weapons.

Katana is 2nd best but there is still quite a gap in between the 2 masteries, esp considering you have to make sure you cancel everything to get the most out of katana while zan can just fire and forget.
