I use 5 colo sticks, mika's sword, xeno axe mh, baha, celestials katana, and RQ wand. The RQ wand could be switched out for something stronger (like another xeno axe), but I was using the fire claws from lily's event before so the wand was a direct upgrade (or a sidegrade depending on hoe you look at things).

I know for sure that they don't affect the number of chests. I used gold Kaguya on Sandal multiple times and it never increased their number from 4 to 5 despite declared 25% boost. Amount of gold chests wasn't higher either.
