Does anyone else feel pre-TTK story missions were structured relatively well? I mean, I used to make fun of my buddy cause he was constantly wanting to back to the Tower but back then you could run the story missions, get bits of lore and feedback pre-mission and then jump into the fray. Now you can't even do the original story line without visiting the Tower after every mission. I get that it's better suited for a post-20/40 Destiny, but it's still unfun, in my opinion, to have to visit the Tower that often. Wonder how D2 will handle mission structure.

Imagine if grenade types and super elements were seperate equips from the sub-class abilities. So rather than say voidwalker, stormcaller, and sunsinger, you would have the walker, singer, and caller sub-classes, then you could have your void, solar, arc, poison, darkness, etc... elements you could equip. And grenades could be drops with different modifiers like for example cluster bombs could randomly roll different number of clusters, different tracking range, different tracking mobility. Or the firewall grenade could have different pulse frequency, different width, length, etc... and so on.

D1 was impossible because Aim Assis and all the other mechanics associated with it were actual weapon abilities and releasing on PC would require eliminating or completely changing more than half the perks in the game.

But with D2 being a complete refresh with a new engine, those restrictions are in a state of limbo right now, I guess we'll know in a few months when (hopefully) the beta hits. We don't even know if perks will still exist in the same form, but if the game no longer centers weapon balancing around AA and all its sub-mechanics, then there is a good chance it could come on PC as well.

And if it does come out on PC, you know who to blame for none of our shit carrying over.

He also said one of the reasons they're doing such a massive reset was because the engine was changing and a lot of today's shit just couldn't feasibly translate into the new one.

Everything that happened so far he has said correctly, so until some discrepancy shows up there's no reason to think the stuff that's yet to be revealed is a lie.

One of the reasons, according to the leaker, that bungie chose to go with a new engine was because they changed the way you explore, rather than having many nodes and going between social spaces and missions, etc... each planet would be one open-world map with social spaces being seamlessly integrated as settlements, missions being points on map rather than on the menu sand so on, and apparently the current engine just couldn't handle that.

Supposedly the first planet (I don't remember if he said it was earth or not) overworld would be approximately slightly larger than all of the D1 maps combined.

I was originally skeptical but as more and more shit he leaked turns out to be true, I'm kind of wondering now.

High moon was brought in to support the live team so the main team can focus on Making D2. But they're still on and there will be no more live events so they've probably shifted to a development support role to get D2 finished as soon as possible, since it was already delayed once. I'm sure Vicarous is there in the same capacity as well.

If its true they're going open world, then it would have to be. honestly each individual map isn't all that big in D1, if you combine them all from Vanilla to Rise of Iron, they'd still barely make up less surface than infamous or GTA 3. It doesn't need have Chaperone range, that's what makes that gun fun. That's the purpose of it, to have a higher ranger than most shotguns (The Universal Remote has less range right?).

But with the FF shotgun, it doesn't need to have a high range at all. So I don't know why you think that. Most shotguns are used in close range combat, to kill enemies quick. You aim for the head for a critical. So the Omolon FF doesn't NEED a higher range, just to work like a regular shotgun with FF.

Again, I don't know why you brought up the Chaperone to compare it to the Omolon FF idea. Every shotgun in the game is for up-close battles. Hence why FF works. Most of the time with FF scouts enemies scatter off making it useless. An up-close shotgun battle leads enemies toward you.
