A cooldown-based temporary "threat scope" effect like the one in Titanfall 2 would suit him well, since it'd basically let him negate any and all lighting or detail issues that might be hurting him at range. It'd make him the king of long-distance peeking, which is what he should be. Jagers and Bandits wouldn't stand a chance against that with their big-ass heads either.
If they really want to help him fit into more team comps they could give him an extra drone, or the ability to bring multiple gadgets or something either, to make up for his ability's general lack of team utility.

we didn't get any of our drawfriend art put up at the invitational, and even when we did get our art talked about passingly in a conversation by ubi they didn't specifically state /r6g/ by name.

i don't think everyone here hates reddit. i personally don't, and will acknowledge that there are certain aspect of it that are good, some that are bad and some that are simply different. i've used both and personally prefer /r6g/ to r/rainbow6. that being said, simply hating on reddit because it's reddit is stupid. it's one of the only ways to connect with ubi, it's where a lot of news is posted first, it has come pretty good artists too.

Well, most sites I can think of off the top of my head are furry oriented, so I'm not gonna list them for the sake of keeping the thread civil.
Drawcrowd seems to be the next big thing, lots of traffic so you have a great shot at fame.
Artstation is also fairly good, but a bit more oriented towards professional portfolios.
There's also wysp, if sketch art is your thing.
And then there's tumblr and deviantart if you're desperate enough.

It would be nice, but I do also agree with the popular idea of adding a VSS with a flip sight as well.

The OTs would be for maps like Favela and Plane that you can do actual long range on throughout the whole round, with that added destruction for taking advantage of unreinforced walls.

On the other hand, the VSS is for maps like Kanal where someone like Glaz is useful for engaging window peekers or holding an angle from the window before it's time to inevitably breach in with the rest. I'd imagine it would also have a 10 round mag but fucking awful destruction capability.

Had an idea from the Yokai damage discussion that happened before.

As permanent damage is dumb and not fitting with the stall roll that Yokai is meant for what if it did temporary damage, like Doc's overheal. When you get hit you take some damage which can only bring you down to 1 (can't down/kill you) and as the disorientation wears off your health comes back at the same time. Adds another layer of discouragement that goes away with time so you cant just fuck with attackers on entry.

Would be neat but is it a buff in the right place gadget wise?

That's actually perfect, and it causes the burst to deter pushes more than it currently does. It'd be especially balanced if it were to only the damage up to a max, which would be the damage of a single shot to prevent spamming all of the bursts from being viable or encouraged.

Literally useless, all you're doing is sacrificing drone stealth in two different ways for a marginal advantage. Valk still does every important thing he does with more flexibility

What's a good bitrate? I normally set it to 2000 for clips 5 seconds and under, 1750 for 10 seconds, and leave it blank for anything above that because it results in the webm getting cut off.

This one is normally a minute, but I couldn't cut it down enough to fit in the whole thing. No bitrate, low res, high quality checked off, and I can only fit 30 seconds, while I commonly see minute long webms here.

Webm for retards has a variable filesize (or something along those lines) option that lets you choose the file size you want, which is 3mb, and it will process the webm to be at max quality for that size.
If you use that, and make sure you cut out any filler or dead time in your videos before you process them they'll look pretty decent. Webm related.

If your clip is 10 seconds long and you have 30000KB/3MB to fill, 3000kb/s is about the highest value you can set it without it getting cut off. If you have a 5 second clip, 6000 is the maximum. All clips are going to be different but I try not to have bitrate fall below 2200, that's when I reduce the resolution a bit.

I'm fine with the what-you-see-is-what-you-get model for hitboxes, as it increases clarity within the game and it's especially important to have accurate hitboxes in a game where seeing a single pixel can be very important.
I'd rather them fix the issue with Mira, and keep the hitboxes for everyone else. I do agree Blitz is affected by this the most, mostly due to being a shield though. Increasing his shield size is the number one solution, but making him 2 speed as a trade-off for his big head would also let him work better as a whole.

That's not a problem though, it just gives him a skill floor and can be used as a limitation to both give him a unique playstyle, and to balance out additional utilities he may have over Valk, like his drone's cloak.

I'd personally enjoy Echo less if he wasn't as focused on vocal communication. His weaknesses truly lie elsewhere.

The one issue with a "what you see is what you get" is Ubisoft has already, on the game level now, disassociated hit boxes from what you see. When you use different headgear, you have the same hitbox you normally would, whether or not that headgear is larger or smaller

the 2 speed thing is always suggested, and probably would work fine, but fixing some of his obvious problems within the framework of how Ubisoft wants him to play is kind of my focus. Ubisoft is nothing but stubborn, they'd rather have a character stay as designed and not ever be picked, than admit their design was wrong and tweak him for a better purpose.

But that's wrong, you can use Pulse easily without a mic using the ping feature. I see it on casual. What you are seeing is *added* value over having a mic, being able to use the gadget in additional ways via voice communication. Echo simply does not function without a microphone. You can't play him reliably without a mic, and if someone picks him and doesn't have a mic, it's bad for everybody in the game (defenders get fucked, attackers don't have as good a fight)

Every other character, even Valkyrie, functions on a base level without a microphone. You can easily place Valk cams in places where marking people at the right time will be insanely advantageous to your team in all the obvious ways (exact location of attacker, attackers panicing cause they are marked, etc)

I agree tho that if we solved Echo's main weaknesses he has elsewhere he'd be a better overall pick. But there is quite a bit wrong with him.

You're right, but it seems that most of the headgear we've gotten so far, if not all of them are designed specifically with maintaining the basic shape of the head in mind.
Off of the top of my head I can only think of two headgear that change the size of the head by a good amount, and that's the Edward Teach BB headgear, and Thatcher's trench headgear.
I still think in terms of vanilla headgear, the WYSIWYG rule should be adhered to for clarity in the majority of situations.

I was also referring to reinforced hatches, naturally. I have no idea if there are limitations of the programming to keep this from being possible without some reworking, but I do still think it'd be fine for balance. Having to use 2 shots from the X-kairos would be a hefty tradeoff from Thermite

I mean, destroying a charge before it explodes seems reasonable enough, and until Hibana was released it was a somewhat reliable but risky counter-play to try and keep important walls intact that added depth to the game. I don't think essentially removing that from the game through Hibana's addition really made the game better, it kind of just increased the feeling of helplessness that Defenders can have at times.
They probably would've removed it from Thermite long ago if they ever actually wanted to remove it from play.
