Since you liked this I would recommend Fushigen or Shiren 5+. The latter for more challenge and the former for more moe.

Sorcery Saga is decent too I'd say, though it's a little too easy to break. Very cute though.

There's also Fushigi Chronicles which is an interesting change in mechanics, though it doesn't seem to rate highly.

I think it is the melancholic yet determined tone it has, when I hear it I can't help but feel the song is about death and rebirth, about how life always finds a way in the middle of catastrophe.
Of course, I could be wrong, but that's part of what makes the composition good as well. The vocals are only used to convey emotion, them having some sort of apparent meaning but being unable to know what exactly it is adds novelty to it and opens to interpretation based on the emotion it transmits.

You know those LE/Collector's Box you'd always get with JP Vita releases? Do all of them use the same flimsy cardboard for the box? I just wished they'd use thicker and tougher cardboard for those LEs because the ones that I have (e.g. Mary Skelter) feel so fragile. The OLED screen of the 1k model is fantastic and the upgrades, while all minimal, add up significantly for the 2k (at the expense of the OLED screen).
Pick whatever you want for the model.

You can save your game data onto the PC / PS3 / PS4 (?) if you don't have enough room. Generally, people recommend getting a 16gb if you're pure physical and a 64 if you're pure digital (for whatever god damn reason). Just don't try to play more than four games at once and you'll be fine.

Full retail games generally range from 1 - 3gb, with the indie stuff obviously being a lot smaller. If you have a PC you can back games up to from time to time, you can make do with a 16gb just fine, but I wouldn't go any smalled than that. Personally, I eventually just got a 64gb and couldn't be happier with it.

I liked the map. I don't think it's pointless, it helped visualise the area of Shimane. But yes, Max Mode was useless. Even the interrogation scenes could be improved. There was literally nothing stopping you from trying an unsure answer and reloading if it was wrong. Wasted potential.

Well, choosing places from it was pretty pointless since usually there was only one place you needed to go. The visualisation could have been done without the choices and just show cursor moving from place a to b in the map. Maybe they were planning that the places you visit could potentially affect the ending at some point.

And to add to the max mode uselessness, there practically was no penalty since it just threw you at the start of the interrogation even if you fucked up.

All that said, I'm looking forward for rhe next installment since it actually sold very well.

It felt like a fangame to htol#niq, that didn't quite get what made the original so interesting. Like, how Silent Hill Downpour is to Silent Hill 2.

They kept the dark gloomy theme, but forgot to make the ambient music interesting to listen to, or include any subtle beauty in the world. They kept the absurdly slow movement, but without a strange control scheme that demands it, it just feels boring. They try so hard to make a cutesy gore and death game that it just failed on both fronts. There's constant cutscenes about cute little things dying, but they forgot to make you care about the cute things first, which just results in a feeling like you stumbled into a newgrounds animation.

Now, I haven't finished the game, so my thoughts on this could change entirely if I keep playing. And I could be just going about it all the wrong way, or just am expecting the wrong things. I don't even think it's necessarily a bad game, but comparing it to what I liked about htol#niq and yomawari so much kind of ruined it for me.
