And not all air normals are equal, some are better for air to airs too. Some characters have good air to airs, some have terrible ones.

The game is very lenient on what can be cancelled. Every time you hit someone in blockstun, it resets their blockstun to whatever the latest move was. So only the last move matters. Typically you want to end on a positive on block move, however you can never learn to rush down until you get out of the mindset that you should be at advantage at all times. There are some strings like Ky c.S>6K which appear to be airtight, but can actually be DP'ed through.

You should also know how frametraps work in GG. Since the game is mostly chain-based you can create frametraps just by slightly delaying the next button you hit. Using Ky as an example again; 2P is +1 on block so its' good for tick throws. However sooner or later your opponent will try to hit a button or jump. If you predict this you can do 2P>delayed 2K to catch them as they jump because you are catching pre-jump frames. One of the most well known frametraps in GG is Sol 2P>delayed 6P in the corner. If 6P catches a jump out and or mashed jab Sol goes into a full dustloop combo.

What character are you playing?

It does matter if you want to figure out frame traps. For example Ky cl.S is + 17-18 when cancelled.
You can cancel it to 6K, which is a 19 frame startup move.
This leaves a 1-2 frame gap which will catch any mashing but also open you up for reversals.

5K>5K>5K is an AMAZING frametrap. It's incredible for catching jump outs and if it counter hits you can do 236S. 5K is also stupidly good because you can do 5K>6K overhead. As well as 5K>2K, 5K>2S>236S. 5K also chains into 6H. You can jump cancel the first hit of 6H or even cancel it into haircar. Also at any point you can run up throw, this works especially well off of 2K or 2P. Doing c.S>5H isn't a good frametrap because c.S is -6 on block, meaning that you HAVE to cancel it into something else and since 5H hits mid there is no risk to the opponent just holding downback. You would gattling it into something else. iirc c.S goes into 6K or 2S. There is no reason for the opponent to jump out or mash after c.S
Doing another 5H after 5H isn't good because 5H leaves you at -4 and 5H does not start up quickly. After a blocked 5H you usually just go back to neutral, do roll into digitalis or cancel into 2D. Doing a roll into digitalis after 5H is almost always completely safe iirc. Roll into digitalis is a great frametrap; if they hit a button they get blown backwards towards the corner and if you are in the corner it wallsplats or crumples, I forgot but either way you can convert into BnB. You can also cancel into roll>throw if you are close enough (Millia has one of the smallest throw ranges) or roll>roll>throw.
I believe all the information here is correct but I haven't played Millia in a long time, I dropped her for another character.

Many of the top players seem to acknowledge that SFV is ass yet they still continue playing it.

I mean, you can definitely play anything, even a bad game, if that game makes you enjoy your time with it, but seeing so many people playing it and at the same time hating it so much makes me question if they are doing it because of money/fanboyism over SF and Capcom/eSports or because they actually enjoy it.

I dunno, she just wasn't working out for me even though I had memorized so much theory. I had no problem with execution either, I just think that some characters just aren't meant for some players, I played her for quite a while. I switched to Ky who I was originally going to play and I should have listened to that gut feeling earlier as Ky just fits my style more. I don't see myself switching from Ky, even if he gets demoted to low tier eventually. Although both Ky and Millia are both mid range characters I'm more comfortable playing a little more keepaway and reactive, I play Ryu in 3 SF games. I'm also a sucker for righteous characters and JUSTICE which is why I also play Izayoi in BB.

I too tried out Sin while I mained Millia at one point and after learning a few BnBs I was already performing better in a couple of days than with Millia against my regular training partner. Granted, Sin is MUCH easier to play than Millia, he's one of the easiest to play, especially since you can play more reckless than other characters like Faust and Ky. Stuff like Elk hunt and Beak Driver are also scrubby as fuck.

You should never be scared of trying out another character, even if you don't end up maining them you will still get information on how they operate and get an insight as to what gives them trouble, provided that you make an effort to study how the character is played/intended to be played. Of course, don't drop a character after a week, you should really make an effort to learn them even if their archetype is out of your comfort zone or if they are a technical character and you don't typically play high execution characters. Your concern should be "Is this character a good fit for me?", not "Is this character too hard for me?".

Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.
